I resize my pics in MS Paint...... just open the pic, click on "resize", then put in the percentage of the original pic that you want the new pic to be. I usually make the new pic about 55% or 65% of the size that my camera works at.....

Here's something funny for you cat people...... https://www.craigslist.org/about/best/ric/6881185958.html -
I found that I like using the Krylon "cover maxx" acrylic clear....... However, my latest attempt to use it failed. I was doing some foiling and lifted the paint that was under the clear..... I'm wondering, if the acrylic doesn't get as hard as the Perfect Match clears that I'm used to? I get a little heavy handed when trimming foil, I think that I cut through the clear and caused it to lift... If it's not a very tough clear, I'll just go back to the DupliColor....

I believe that this bus is/was gonna be built.... I'll be on the hunt for another guess for you guys........

Myrtle Beach Shops?
JollySipper replied to iBorg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This place is in Fayetteville, NC, which is a little further than your 2 hour specs (not much, tho.....) and is suppose to be the Bomb hobby shop......... http://www.hayeshobby.com/tour-the-store/ My Sis used to go there for her son's train collection..... -

I really like these wild one-off car creations.... Anyone have info as to who built this one? What is it called?

Thanks..... Well, I had a bit of bad luck with my paint. Tried to do some foiling, and some lifted..... Fortunately it's only on one panel, so I'm gonna try to touch it up the best I can.

The '80s weren't all that terrible for some car manufacturers, I've always had a thing for the aerocoupe Thunderbirds...... If I could round up a pre-facelift 'Bird, I'd build something along these lines....

'70s Paint Jobs
JollySipper replied to Richard Bartrop's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That '58 Impala isn't painted, that's all done with etching! Awesome stuff....... -
I thought it looked "doctored", but that's a real photo of a car for sale on Craigslist here in NC...... Charlotte area I believe...... I'll try to find you guys another pic to guess on soon!

You guys are sharp...... I'll learn what to look for in future guesses to try and make it a challenge....... What do you think, photoshop or not?

Thank you, Guys! I got it colored and cleared today, it will look much better once I can polish it.... here's how the color combo looks... and I'm thinking of the chrome reverse rims for this... wheels are from the kit, tires are from the '60 Starliner, I believe..... Once I'm finished with the paint, I'll try to get some outside pics........

That's a pretty attractive model! I believe that I'll be able to get a decent shine out of the acrylic clear.... It's really nice to work with and dries hard enough to polish pretty quickly....
-
Thanks, you two........ Got some more done today, the chassis is pretty much finished, just have to decide what wheels I want to use.... and I'm testing some Krylon clear, it's called "Cover Maxx" and is an acrylic. Anyone ever use this stuff? I'm gonna wait until it cures a while, then try to polish it to see what kind of shine it has.... Thanks for looking! and comment freely........

I've been working on a Pro Modeler release of the '58 Corvette. I'm kinda going with a mild custom theme, as I'm taking liberties with the color scheme and maybe using some custom wheels. So far there's been progress on the interior...... and the engine and chassis. I decided to use the fuelie parts..... Color will be the same as the Starliner I finished earlier this year. I'm hoping for a pleasant contrast between the Dark Garnet and the red interior........ Thanks! and all comments are welcome

What about decals that are completely dried out? I have a sheet I would like to use, but the sheet is no longer even "tacky" feeling... almost like just a photocopy of the sheet. Would the SuperFilm restore these?

Problem with KRYLON paints
JollySipper replied to Bucky's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I believe that Krylon paints have a "window" where you can recoat. Something like within 12 hours and after a few days.... -
Yea, i kinda figured you guys would get that one pretty easily....... It's a concept drawing of an "F80". Hopefully this next one will be a bit more difficult......
