AMT 68 Camaro
JollySipper replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
How helpful would it be if you had a '69 Camaro from AMT? I have the Yenko version that I've only built the interior and engine....... The main chassis and body aren't painted. -
I remember my old man's Raiders, the center cap was held in place by a kind of concave disc that went from inside the wheel, and a screw went through that.......... The "K" was embossed into the center cap. Someone here surely knows if the center caps are interchangeable or not........

Thanks a whole bunch, guys....... I'm glad y'all are enjoying this one! With the assembly, it helps a lot not to put the firewall up into the body like the instructions say to do. It works out better to attach the firewall to the interior instead.

Hello, guys! I'm kinda hoping that someone out there has drawn up some over sized police wheels, like is in the Monogram '70 RoadRunner, only scaled out to an 18 or 20 inch wheel......... I'm working on a '60s Dodge pickup, and it would really suit my vision to find a 20" 6 hole cop car rim.......... Anything even similar to what I'm looking for? Something I could use poverty caps on......... Thanks for any help, fellows!

Thanks for the comments, Fellas! It's kinda rewarding coming from those who know what building these things requires.......

Hey, Fellas! Just finished this today...... It's the AMT Z28. This one kinda fought me some, but I believe everyone who has built this kit has had some sort of assembly problems. I didn't do a WIP, as this one was basically just a wheel swap and such..... The ol' "Stop, Drop, and Roll" treatment.......... The wheel and tire combo is four of the rears from the Boyd Smoothster I hope you guys like it, I kinda wish it would have turned out a little better. Thanks for looking, and letting me share!

Computer drawing (MS Paint)...... need ideas!
JollySipper replied to JollySipper's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Hey, Guys! Just wanted to share this line drawing I'm working on............ As primitive as MS Paint is, if you know how to use it you can draw pretty much anything! -

EVs really are gonna ruin the Planet.............. All of the power stations that will need to be built, will be put up out in the mid-west USA. The same mid-west where we grow much of our food. All of those pollutants are gonna rain down with the weather....

What Did You See In Your Yard Today?
JollySipper replied to Tim W. SoCal's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Looks like you've got a "skeeter hawk" there! They're beneficial to us, as they eat the lesser mosquitoes...... We had to do an insect collection in HS Biology, one poor kid caught a lizard and a frog to add to his! Needless to say the teacher gave him the opportunity to redo it........... -
That's a pretty bike! I like the angular bodywork, and the color suits it........ I had an early 1980s Yamaha 650 special for a while in my late teens. It was black with gold trim....... I like to go fast too much, and quickly learned a bike maybe wasn't for me!

Hey, Fellas! My old man is in the process of getting his classic MoPar painted. In order to help protect his new paint job, I want to recommend to him that he use a wax that sheets off the water, not one that beads the water. Those little droplets magnify UV rays, and that wreaks havoc on your clearcoat....... So, what do you guys suggest for a good automotive wax? or Do you think something like the ceramic coating being done now would be a good idea? Here's a pic before being painted......... This is the factory paint. It's a really nice 10 footer! I'll post an After pic as soon as I get the chance. Thanks for any help!

I'm not one to usually listen to bluegrass, but the Pickin' On series has a lot of good stuff........... They take popular songs and do bluegrass covers! The band is usually one called Iron Horse.

I learned something new about George Barris and Co.
JollySipper replied to Mike 1017's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I've read that George B. was quite the ladies man! 50+ years later, folks are finding lipsticks and such in the customs they built......... -

Bill, is this the kit you were thinking of? https://www.modelroundup.com/product-p/amt-r2-876.htm This kit, the front suspension from a '37 Ford coupe, and some Pegasus brakes, and you're on your way!
