  1. Hello, fellow model builders! I hope it's okay to start a topic here..... I was just wanting to open a thread about anything to do with BMW. This thread can be a place to show both works in progress, or for completed builds. Anything to do with this lovely automotive company, from motorcycles, to full-on race cars, and everything in between! I guess I should get things going for us! I just got the Hasegawa 2002 tii yesterday..... This is a very nice kit! They have you start with the interior, since there's no engine to speak of. So far I just have the wheel and shifter done...... I'll be going with a tan and black interior, and hopefully silver for the exterior....... So, if any of you guys want to share either finished builds or progress on one, please feel free to do so!
  2. One thing I do when sanding primer (which is all I sand, not the paint or clear...), is while I'm wet sanding, to flow a stream of water over what I'm working on...... If the water flows out and looks slick, then the paint should do the same.
  3. Those are Dobermans, but I doubt you'll find a 'Pinscher Polka' anywhere............
  4. This is probably my favorite kit! What you've done looks really good......
  5. What's your favorite from there, Bill? I enjoy the steak Chalupa supreme and the Mexican pizza........
  6. Another piece of meat from my indoor grill......... This time we had a porkchop with my favorite barbecue sauce (Bull's Eye 'Everyday' sauce) accompanied by a salad with mixed lettuce, cucumber, sunflower seeds and dried cranberries, with buttermilk Ranch........
  7. Thank You, Bill! I had some trouble getting the interior into the body....... I ended up having to mount the dash in the body first after the windshield went in. Then the interior went in without too much problem........
  8. Here we go, guys! I'm on the home stretch with this one........... I'm not going to hinge the doors, I'll just glue them closed when I add them.
  9. And just like primer on bare wood will raise the grain, causing you to have to sand again, some primers on bare plastic will bring up the swirls in the plastic itself, causing you to need to sand and prime again.....
  10. and It's such a pretty plane, too! Thanks for the pics, Ray.........
  11. Nah, Friend.... This is the primer I meant. It's in their 11 oz can..... and it doesn't 'fill' really, as in losing a bunch of detail. I usually put two wet coats on the bare plastic, then color coats.......
  12. Alan Parsons had a bunch of good stuff! When I was small I had an 8-track of some of his music....... Can't remember exactly which album, but it had "Games People Play" on it.
  13. Duplicolor filler primer, Duplicolor Perfect Match color coats, then their 1K high gloss clear is my go-to formula right now...... Their sandable primer in the big cans isn't that great, as you HAVE to sand it to smooth it before paint. The filler primer dries smooth, so there's little need to do much sanding of it.........
  14. Freiburger, back when he was still editor for Hot Rod, said that he had put a first generation Bronco on craigslist to sell. Someone came to look at it, and went over it with a set of calipers, getting measurements....... About a year later, we had the Bronco kit!
  15. Fans of Radiohead will like this one........... Thom Yorke is on vocals.
  16. Do any of you have Trillium harassing you to accept their services? I had a person come to my place and get invited in under false pretenses...... They said they were from the company that manages my psychiatric meds. I let them in, but soon realized they were lying....... Before they left, it gave me a bogus phone number to get mine. One of those "is your number still......." things........ These people are crooked! I have an insurance policy that covers all my care, so I don't have any need for them........
  17. They were more concerned with "listenability", it had to sound just right!
  18. I was looking at recommended sites on IG, and came across this little pearl of wisdom that really hit home as a model builder........ "When you have 90% of a large project completed, the finishing details will take another 90%." Is this true for you guys? Any other sage advice you can offer that also pertains to modelling?
  19. *nevermind, sorry*
  20. Vikings are what Plant was thinking Zeppelin was when he wrote 'Immigrant Song'.
  21. These are cool....... The first one is too funny! I really like the drawings of the cars in the second, especially the brown pickup.
  22. Way out yonder on the Chattahoochie, it gets hotter than the hoochie-coochie.
  23. Pro-Touring Thunderbird! Most excellent idea.......... Have you thought about trying to incorporate the Mustang front bumper onto the front of the T Bird? Kinda like an airdam or something........
  24. Level 3 must be what 'level' that Countach build is on....... as in "a whole 'nother level"!
