  1. I was following his "Roy Munson" build, and also would like to know what happened. I, too, hope that he is alright.
  2. By trade, I am a tax assessor in the state of New Jersey. We grapple with similar issues every day. The question of a property value, like that of a model kit or just about anything else can easily be determined if certain parameters are met. Is the transaction between the parties involved an "arm's length transaction"? Are both the willing buyer and knowledgeable seller free of any sort of distress to either buy or sell? Can you find recent sales and prices for that item or a similar item? Always disregard the anomalous (either ridiculously high or low sales prices) as they are never a true indicator of what the market is willing to bear. Of course, no two sales will likely ever be exactly alike, so using these questions as a guideline for at least three comparable sales can, at the very least, give you a range of value. I could probably write about two hundred pages on the subject of market value and how one might arrive at it, but there's a lot of plastic out there that requires attention. Oh yeah, and it would bore the hell out of all of you.
  3. Very nicely done. I like your detail work on this one.
  4. Plowboy is correct about the AMT '69 442 chassis, as I've used it with a little bit of tweaking. You might want to take the radiator support/fan shroud from the AMT body shell and fit it to the Jo-Han body, as it doesn't have one. If you use the chassis, basic block and other running gear from the AMT kit, you can dress the rest of it up with parts from the Revell '72 Hurst/Olds, as they are very well-done and correct for the '70-'71 as well. The Revell interior is for the convertible, and has striking differences to the one supplied with the Jo-Han kit, so a fair amount of re-working would be necessary to fit it properly to the Jo-Han body. To fit the Jo-Han interior tub onto the AMT chassis, you'll have to grind some plastic off around the transmission tunnel. No other major pitfalls, but make sure you thoroughly test-fit as you proceed.
  5. A house fire really is devastating, so I'm with the rest of the members here in wishing you the best during the rebuilding process. Better days lie ahead, friend.
