  1. The two hobby shops near me cater mostly to R/C or railroad. One is run by and old guy that doesn't want to be there and the other by some obnoxious long-haired hipster "know-it-all" inerested in pushing the expensive train and R/C stuff and could care less about selling model cars. You might get his attention if you're interested in armor kits though. I won't waste the trip only to be ignored and will continue to shop online. Kind of hard to feel sorry for closing HS that provide little or no customer service!! Don't have to kiss my foot just be pleasant, get off your "stool" and be glad to have business!
  2. Yeah, a guy at work tried to lay this BS on me too till I showed him the truth on Snopes. People really need to be careful of some of the propaganda nonsense that gets passed arround in email chain letters!
  3. Craigs List. Advertise at $2.00 to $3.00 a kit. Someone will bite at the whole lot. That's how I got my stash! LOL!
  4. More likely for longer loads than the cargo area like short bed PU's today!
  5. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/ethanol-not-cut-emissions/ Corn based ethanol may not be all that great after all.
  6. 54. Seems to be a pattern here.
  7. (Very cool! Where do you get 1/64" ID tubing? I have looked in several shops, and the K&S website, the smallest I have found is 1/16" OD. I guess the 1/16" OD is probably 1/32" ID, but I can't find anything smaller.) Amazon has stainless tubing in small diameters for hypodermic needles. It's what I used for my drill jig. Many assorted sizes! Made drill jigs for exhaust pipes too.
  8. Might want to start with the Tucker family. They're selling t-shirts on E-bay! Ordered one and got it yesterday with a cert of authenticity!
  9. Can you paint Teflon tape? In other words will it stick?
  10. Shouldn't this be posted in "On the Workbench" page?
  11. That is one beautiful automoble! Got a Franklin Mint die cast but would love this in plastc! If Revell can kit a replica of a giant mining excavator why not this!
  12. I don't get it, what's wrong with the Tucker? It's an historically significant car. Not to mention cool looking! Would love to see a fully detailed one kitted!
  13. So...is this street licensed as a motorcycle or car?
  14. Anyone expecting to get rich on selling "rare" plastic are speculators. Might as well be in the stock market because they're real hobby is collecting money! I love when a long lost kit is reissued and kills the price gouging. Round 2 or Revell, need a 68 Impala! I know, resin is an option. But even they can get stupid expensive on Ebay!
  15. Glad this one is coming back at a reasonable price. Been bidding these on Ebay for awhile but back off when the price gets stupid high!
  16. You can find wrapping wire on Amazon. A one thousand feet spool of 30 ga. insulated (.019 in. dia.) for less than $8.00 with free shipping! Comes in different colors for custom wiring. I use it and looks good enough (I know, the dreaded "good enough" phrase!) to me.
  17. Here, here! Price not that outrageous for what it is! Full highly detailed kit, I'll get one! Been looking for one of these a long time!
  18. How about gap filling instead of putty.
  19. Don't over think it guys! The coolest model I've built and would recommend is the Revell Saturn V Lunar rocket kit 1/144 scale with the lander! When I was 13 yrs. old they were still going to the moon and building this kit at the time was awesome!
  20. I've found that with bare metal foil if the surface under it isn't clean and smooth, then those imperfections will transfer thru because its so thin. No amount of burnishing will remove those bump and grooves!
  21. Was bored. Had a spare engine, wheels, and leftover tube steel in his parts box! Some people play with plastic others play with real stuff! LOL
