  1. Thanks guys and steal away anything you fancy! Today brief was to fit the pedals to the interior tub, fit the floor, give the wood another coat of varnish and decorate it out, and decorate the inside of the camper shell, all done! A few more small strips of decal in the corners to be done.
  2. Thanks Stephen, I hope to do somemore today-Friday.
  3. More pics, today's work........... I've found the two pedals I need to finish the cab as the kit doesn't supply them. The woodwork finished with one coat od wood varnish and the flooring template........ I initially wanted a wood floor to show my new woodgrain decals but that would be too much wood! So here's the diamond plate floor just sprayed with a chrome finish........... More tomorrow hopefully!
  4. Thanks Joe.
  5. Hi Bob thanks for your comments and yes you guessed it! I searched the web and found various images of metal with rust/rivets etc. Copied them to a word doc to re-size, to three different sizes and printed them on white backed decal paper! So I have alloy/rivets and rusty ones for the mild steel door. More pics to come.
  6. Hi Dan, the camper coating is a new home made multi sized alloy/rivet decal.Plus the mild steel rusty decal on the door. The board carrier I sourced from an image from Google to carry surfboards on bikes! More pics coming.
  7. Yes espo, The camper roof is too high to carry a surfboard so I made a board carrier from a couple of paper clips fitted through the side in a plastic tube. I have sprayed the body, that doesn't touch the camper shell with a chrome sparke (a Hobbycraft spray bottle product), which looks like a wet finish. I've also covered the camper shell with some home made alloy/rivet decals and one on the mild steel door as it's going rusty. More pics to follow about now!

    Aoshima Explosion

Great Kevin, I always try and 'Think Outside the Box' as all the movers and shakers say! Go against what you've seen before, try something different!

    Aoshima Explosion

Thanks Kevin, this is the best in-focus shot prior to the short stubby gearstick being placed in the transmission tunnel......... It's all brush painted by dabbing the end of the bristles on the surface. The silver on the dash is a craft paint pen as is the black outline. Seatbelts are my own home printed version, they are normally 4 point race/rally harnesses but in this case I just use one shoulder strap and one seat belt. The next pic is from the front showing the belts.................

    Aoshima Explosion

Thanks Bruce, yes I didn't want to go down the dark and boring route with the interior.
  12. This is my first build of 2017, from, as my wife calls it 'The Production Line'! This is otherwise known as the Aristo JZS 161 year 2000. I modified the suspension because although shown on the boxtop with lowered, cambered suspension, it doesn't have the parts to do that as in the Rocket Bunny kits. Painted/masked bonnet, taken back with oven cleaner and brake fluid to show the undercoat as well as the red topcoat in a matt form. Added decals from kit and stash. The interior was painted in a dappled (using the paint brush at 90 degrees to the part) matt sand finish, with dial and seat belt decals.
  13. WOW very nice Lee.
  14. Thanks Dann yes I've got two or three kits already in the melting pot.(Aoshima Explosion, modifying suspension to get that extra camber on each wheel, paint,if any, decals Hellaflush, Liberty Walk look. Deora, lowered, camper shell colours, woody, coffee sticks or woody decalling with rear car seats inside. AMT Surf Woody, with Paddle tyres on rear to power through the sand! MPC Hombre Pickup, waiting to hear from BNL Resins, on Mud Bog,Sand Paddle Tyres and their new tracks (one for each wheel, see Ken Blocks Subaru on tracks, as well) I'm researching every day into new ideas, paint, stance, decals etc. Oh and another idea, just popped into my head, Aerosans, vehicles that look like ordinary cars but are on ski's with a small aircraft engine in the back with a propeller blowing them along! (admittedly mostly Russian in build tech) What with having to feed eight of us today as well, couldn't be a better Christmas here in Buckingham UK and an exciting year 2017 building 'Different,Odd,Futuristic vehicles. I just can't wait!
  15. Cheers Mark, Merry Christmas.
  16. Cheers Atin, yes I like leftfield very much!
  17. I built this about 3 months ago, but when getting to the last stage, I found windscreen badly distorted and on warming it to correct it, it broke into 3 pieces. So I've had to wait until today when the new screen came from Revell.de to finish the build. I've added seatbelts, scratchbuilt a half rollcage, painted the shell and engine bay with a mixture of gloss yellow and matt green. The decals are from the spares box. I also added the front splitter and a tuner style bootlid mounted rear wing The doors click into the open position and shut quite well, the drivers side better than the other.
  18. It's really good to see you back Bob, and doing some great work, fantastic look on this one!

    '32 Ford Fooler

Thanks Donald, and thanks David , yes I've only bought a couple of Lindberg kits but both have eede a little work, but I'm very pleased with this one. But anybody buying one, just remember when you put the body on the chassis and look through to the firewall there's no floor between the seat and the firewall!

Thanks Sam & Steve. We don't see many if any of this type of kit here in the UK, so you have to grab it while you can! The surprise is that when you open the box the sprues are all bright yellow plastic. I didn't pay much for this one, but I saw the same kit on ebay here yesterday at £46! Now what's that in dollars now to what it was when it was first released?
  22. Produced by Lindberg many moons ago, I was lucky to pick one up on ebayUK for a song. The kit decals which were only four were in bits in the box, so off to my stash for replacements. The instructions to me were quite comical as it spoke about preparing chrome parts, none of which were in the kit, not one! I painted the shell Tamiya Metalic Green, the chassis black and various other parts silver. Whilst building up the chassis I found that the two radius rods were too short so made new ones from very small plastic tube. I also opted for the road exhaust of the three available and added alloy tube extensions out back. I also added yellow Dunlop tyre decals to continue a period look. without the engine cover plus alloy tube for the carb intakes...........
  23. Superb build Atmobil and nice to see you back. I've had a few decals falling to bits recently, so having to use other decals from my pile. I did though cure a number of other old decals. I sprayed two coats of auto clear acrylic laquer on the sheets as I got them in the post. These were with old Nascar or 'already started' kits from ebay here in the UK. I also realised when I went to use them that I had the cut them out very close to the image outline, and all of them have laid up really well and not collapsed into dust!
  24. Superb job geetee66!
