Thanks Bob. Yes weathering is an art and I've not quite got it yet, only after 60 years of building kits. Everything always seems to have to be perfect, but out on the road, beach wherever, it's not.
Thanks Vince. I was an airtraffic control marshall at the Silverstone Circuit just 5 miles away for nearly 30 years. I saw the Team Lotus colours in the 70's, green and yellow and wondered when I would be able to use it, well it's now and it goes together quite well. Well I looked at the box and saw the double wheel back axle on each side and saw the tyres, well the paddlers are better in sand so I changed them. I build as I would like the real vehicle for me.
Thanks Bob it's just thick acrylic on the front tyres (enamel paints are no good on rubber) the rest is a sand rattle can colour that I've sprayed onto scrap plastic and let dry awhile before dabbing on with an old paint brush!
Yes unclescott58 I agree having the music thrown in was a great idea. I'm still going to look for the other two kits, although that may be very, very difficult!
Thanks unclescott58. and so am I.Today............ the paint has dried I've got the hatch to work properly but not the nose light, it just wouldn't stay still!
And the steering works...........
And the hatch closes!
And more tomorrow.
OK Bill, today's stuff....I kept the cross bars on the roof rack............
I've put a couple of clear gloss coats on the Tamiya Candy Apple Green............
I test fitted the hatch but caught it and the cross bar and took some paint off as it is a very tight fit,so have had to paint again!
And put in the tail lights.....................
So far................
Had to put alloy tube over the cross frame rails to get it to set square.
These two pics above,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, the parts need painting to finish.

Re-shaped side panels, with woodgrain decal and port-holes..........
Also re-shaped coffin surfboard with woodgrain decal. All requiring a small amount of paint round the edges to finish..........
Yes Dann we looked at building an extension on the back of the garage, the same size again and we put out four tenders and all came back around £40,000! We had some trees cut down, a fence and deck put up and bought and built the cabin and had the electrics put in for under £4,000! It has full floor and roof insulation and the walls are 2" thick, and I have a small oil filled radiator in there, so it's cozy this time of year!
