Cheers Marty.

Thanks to afx who has PM'd me, the rear wing was upside down! What a twit am I, don't answer that. Here it is all sorted.......................

Thanks again Dann, I'm pleased I kept this one, rather than sell it! Yes just to think that little turbo-charged cars with just a 1.6 litre engine turn out nearly 300 brake horse power!
-
Thanks for the compliments FabbricaP. Yes this is certainly better looking than the official works factory cars, and the long decals suit me, with plenty of colour!

I originally chose this 206 against the factory ones for it's bright colours. It's been on the shelf for a few or more years, the Tamiya decals still being perfect. This is one I kept back from my sale of 30+ kits............ I made two changes to the build........the roof camera was not used on the 1:1 of this car but as it was in the kit I inculded it and I changed the grill with alloy mesh.

Due to lack of display space left I'm selling all or most of my 1/24 & 1/25 kits and planes, so buying smaller 1/32 and 1/43rd kits. Got this yesterday from ebay here in the UK for just £5.99!

Yes one of my nearly local suppliers, got Tamiya spray paints and McLaren MP4-12C decals yesterday, should get some more tyre decals today. They must have worked over the Bank Holiday weekend to get them out! What a service!

Thanks Dave. I'm trying to come to grips with doing a great job with paint and decals and them weathering them and making them 'dirty'! But buying 1/32 and 1/43 rd kits for a few pounds and then buying decals for them at £16 is a bit galling, as with the focus! It's also a space saving issue, I've sold 30+ kits on the bay over the last month as I'm seriously running out of display space.

Whilst clearing out and selling a lot of stuff, I came across a 43rd boxed Subaru, made by Airfix, with decals, paints and brush, licenced to sell in Marks & Spencers stores here in the UK over Christmas, perhaps upwards of 10 years ago. Also two other plastic bagged Airfix Rallycars in 43rd without decals, of the Peugeot 206 and the Ford Focus, and splashed out 2 or 3 years ago for a set of of Columbia made decals for the Focus. So I've built all three. Please I'm still no good at painting the black around window frames! And it's Big Brother.......................

Chevy Van + 57 Belair - It's sort of a car - Meet the custom "Belvan"
PatW replied to RestoModGuy's topic in Model Cars
Well Jim I've read all of the other comments, but it's just crazy amazing! Very well done! -
Yes we had quite a few tearing about, until the wind got up! ( that's Bond cars in general as they were all three wheelers with fibreglass bodyshells). Then they would tend to tip on their sides on corners, or in one case, whilst travelling to work one day, I saw blue lights flashing up ahead. Now I knew the road well and we I was coming upto a bridge over the railway, well the parapet was a brick wall on both sides of the road. I was stopped by Police to let vehicles coming towards me drive past the wreckage on the other side of the road. The wind was quite strong that morning and the Bond driver had had his steering over to the right to compensate for the high crosswind, when he came across the bring that was higher than his car, and therefore no crosswind! The chassis of the Bond was laid on the side of the road bare of the fibreglass bodyshell, which was behond it smashed into little pieces! He had hit the bridge on the right (still compensating for the crosswind) and the body, coming into contact with the brick wall had shattered!

Wow the Corvette, my eyes have gone funny. Looks great, great camo style decalling! I was just going to buy this kit having seen corvettes at close quarters at Le Mans. What other problems did you have please?

What a good idea Tom, very good so far!

Looking at this reminds me of my first car that I bought 1966! Keep up the good work!

You are so right, 'Don't take model building so seriously, it's all about our creative juices, do something different every month or so, just chill. What does it really matter if the colour is not factory stock, or the wheels are different or the engine. Or if it's turned into a woody or something, that the factory didn't build. I personally don't like factory stock because the cars, no matter where they come from are boring because they throw out thousands, think, (excuse the pun) outside the box! I can't remember when I did 'a box stock' without adding/changing something!
