  1. Wow they look good but your showing us up ! No your not, well done they look great!
  2. Yes I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of this, as a beetle fan. I think, and that's only my opinion but you need a few wooden coffee stiring sticks for the pickup bed, both for the base and sides!
  3. Looks good but in the UK the wheels have to be covered and the exhaust has to have silencers/mufflers and out of harms reach/ under the car so no one can get burnt!
  4. I was driving on our dual carriageway outside town I saw one of these coming towards me in this colour...........a Lamborghini Aventador. This a standard photo as I don't have a dash camera.
  5. Didn't Airfix produce a 1/32 scale one of these? I saw one testing at Silverstone in the day!
  6. This is looking very good. Yes I used the Mitsubishi parts and a Flintstone Meyers Manx resin kit to make a 4x4 Dakar Manx.
  7. Thanks Bob, Yes all these extra bits in the parts bin!
  8. Superb Wayne, just like the one I scratched a few years ago......
  9. As I've built one now so I won't need another, thanks for offering.
  10. Thanks ChrisR I'll keep an eye out for that one.
  11. Thanks guys, I'm pleased that you like my efforts. Yes you just can't throw anything away, there are plenty of ways to rescue/rebuild kits, I just put the name of the vehicle into Google image search, and things appear that make you think, YES.
  12. These just fascinate me, as we don't see these here in the UK! It looks just amazing well done Scott. I'll have to look into getting one of these kits imported.
  13. Thanks Mark, just another dream I had, a 4X4 Dakar Buggy!
  14. Yes just what the Doctor ordered! (please excuse the pun) Thanks for your comment. I like to modify/change things, colour, stance, purpose etc.
  15. Cheers Ray.
  16. Thanks guys for your comments. Stephen I used to be a race and air traffic marshal at the Silverstone circuit 5 miles from here. When we had a Bultaco Trials Bike in the '80's I would put the trailer on the back of our family Beetle and take the bike to do just as you said. It was far too crowded to use the car inside the circuit so I would use the bike, great fun when you think that most of the spectator viewing areas then were high grass banks alongside the track, perfect for a trials bike when I had an hour or so off duty during the day!
  17. Yes you say that so we must be able to do it! I've built lots of the AMT Meyers Manx over the last 2-3 years and changed most everything except the chassis anf Beetle engine. I bought a Flintstone Resin Manx kit body and windscreen. Used the paddle type tyres front and back and a Corvair motor and a Dakar Mitsubishi 4X4 running gear and hey presto another idea comes to fruition ! I'm presently thinking about a six wheel Manx design with a woody truck bed and a woody trailer from a Model T kit! Ah well back to reality, I'm replacing some fencing round the garden if it doesn't rain today.
  18. Cheers Wayne and Carl. It's nothing special just something really basic. .I suppose using plasticard is OK for flat surfaces no difficult bits to do!
  19. Cheers Fred Stanford, as you can see I'm partial to lowering things too!
  20. Now there's another idea for a modified 181/Thing in surf/beach/dune look! Yes do keep dreaming, that's where I get most of my ideas for changing kits as I build them, waking at 2 or 3 am and writing things down!
  21. Super job Keith, it looks so aggressive with it!

Great looking Beetle, I'm a great lover of these. We've had five Beetles in our family over a number of years, and I still want another.
  23. Very interesting and different, both good as well, very well done. I'm all for trying things out and I definitely don't have any problems adding parts and styles from any make of kit or car come to that. Great to see innovation and imagination.
  24. Well Jason that's a great cross section of designs, and yes the photo's are great too! Perhaps I'll try a dark base with a white background in future!
  25. Thanks Atmobil for your comments, when I'm trying something different I always wonder how it will turn out.
