They certainly do need to make one in the 'right scale'! There are plenty of the Kubels in 1/35th but that's no good is it?

It's 1/24th scale..... and the bike is from a roof rack Fujimi Kit.........

I built this from plasticard and various bits from the parts bin whilst waiting for glue/paint to dry on my Mountain Bike Transporter in the car thread on here.

All ready for the road................

Added the bike, and used wire for cables and chain........

Added my scratchbuilt bike rack..................

I scratchbuilt a rear wiper and added the glass throughout...............

I started to build the mountain bike from the Fujimi kit and used Humbrol rattle can Candy Apple Green..........

I built a toolbox and covered it in decals.............

As the chrome sprue was missing a made a grill from alloy mesh..........

I continued to build the kit as normal, with roll cage and adding a boot floor............

I added some custom seats from the '60's-'70's era and added seat belts.....

I used this as inspiration........

I bought this kit as used, it had the seat, brakes, suspension and chrome sprue missing....

Great looking job on this one, well done. It reminds when I was a Race and Rally on the RAC Rally in the day, watching these flying through the forests in this condition after they had bounced a tree or two!

Yes we were in Vegas the week before the IndyCar race when Dan crashed. We were (my two boys at the time, 30 years ago) big into BMX, friends of ours lived in a village about 20 miles away. Dan grew up next door to them! He used to race and do show races and tutoring to kids at our local kart track, Daytona Raceway.

I received this today from Omnimodels.........

I worked on Air Traffic at the Silverstone ciruit and met Justin a number of times when he came in, in the lower formula's and then in F1 with the Jaguar F1 team (previously Stewart F1). A very nice and decent young man. One of the first tributes on TV here in the UK today, was from his sister, the widow of Dan Wheldon! RIP Justin and condolences to his wife and two daughters and the rest of his family.

I'll keep an eye out too, in the Airfix mag. Super build Matt well done!

Further to purchasing these transkits, I've won two '69 Mustang kits from ebay USA............. The C1 bodykiy is for the Revell version.
