  1. Cheers Bob, yes as I've now collected around 85 kits I'm trying to build one a fortnight. I tried one a week but that was too much, waiting for glue to set and paint to dry!
  2. and two more.............. My last one but the first finisher of 2015.......... A brace of Cooper 'S', one rally one race. Happy New Year to all out there wherever you are!
  3. And a few more.............................
  4. And a few more.......
  5. And a few more.................
  6. Thanks guys. Well Bob it was just a Flintstone Manx shell and windscreen frame, Mitsubishi 4X4 transmission, front axle/steering with a Corvair Motor. Spare seats, steering wheel, Manx lid, spare wheels and sand ladders, scratch roof rack, Lancia Stratos bull bar and lights and Manx rear tyres front and back. Ok a few more................................... A bit of casting..........
  7. And approx Eleven More.
  8. The paint on the '63 Chevy Nova Outlaw is possibly the best I've seen in 2014!
  9. From my youngest son a Revell Ferrari 599 GTO for Christmas...........
  10. Thanks Miles now suggesting turning the Hi Ace into a Pick-up has really what we say in the UK 'Put a cat amongst the pigeons'! My imagination whilst cooking the Christmas dinner and serving up to the family is going to work overtime! Thanks also to ace, I've also started the Cooper 'S' racing version............... But not quite finished it. Perhaps the first finisher of 2015?
  11. Yes Joe I reckon it should be. When I looked yesterday at the artwork It looks although it already has a double tyre width on the back, it just needs extending outwards! Although I haven't yet looked in the box since it was washed when it was first delivered about 12 months ago
  12. Cheers guys for your feedback and it was great fun sorting it. Especially having seen these in the flesh being tested nearby supposedly in secret, prior to both rally use and track racing. We just had to have the bog standard 848cc Mini Countryman, yes the one with the wood trim down the side and double doors at the back! Very inconvenient the double doors when you were driving, because as you looked in the interior rear view mirror you only saw a big metal bar down the middle. A few years after production started a Fibreglass body parts specialist came up with a single rear door with a large window, hinged on one side, but of course that was an aftermarket extra so you had to buy it and fit it yourself and as it came in base white fibreglass you had to paint it as well! Yes Bob & family, please have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Model making New Year in 2015 and that also goes for everyone out there wherever you are!
  13. Yes thanks guys. Yes the Works team used what we would see now as halogen bulbs, but it took years to perfect them and be able to use them in competition and in road cars. Their first problem was that they would get so hot and melt the light lens if they using perspex covers to stop stones etc. breaking them.
  14. This is one of my part built ebay finds. This was just £1.76! Hey did you remember the spare bulbs? The body was already painted, but I couldn't find a match on my paint shelf oops! Right so lets have a break over Christmas. So everybody wherever you are have a great time and a very happy and prosperous 2015. Now what shall I start with in the new year? Stretch a Meyers Manx into a four seater with the standard length Beetle chassis? Build a Ken Meri C110. Put Dually arches and wheels on a Tamiya Hi Ace Delivery Van or build a Toyota 86 Greddy Rocket Bunny Enkai? Decisions, Decisions!
  15. Thanks Guys. Yes I'm into saving at present, I got a Tamiya Mini Cooper Rally the other day off ebay for £1.76 because it had been started but not finished!
  16. Well done Bruce the 450cc Honda MX looks just right!
  17. I had delivered over the last few days two well discounted from ebay uk, the rally Mini at just £1.76 part built................... And one of the latest re- issues (I think) from Tamiya, the Honda MotoCrosser in 1.12th scale............. I also built a Suzuki MX from Tamiya many years ago.
  18. Cheers Scott.
  19. Thanks guys for your comments, it's a pity that classic kits like this aren't easily available in the UK. If they were I'd build more of them.
  20. I was clearing out the loft recently to put some new insulation in and found this and a few other bits. It says 1977 on the box and I wouldn't be surprised if that was when I bought and built it! It was in bits mainly from neglect so I spent a week in refurb mode. The engine and separate gearbox were out as were the seats, dash, and the rear bumper and tail units had dropped off. I also cut out a very thin piece of clear plastic to make one headlight lens that had also gone adrift. I topped off the 1970's black gloss rattle can paint with a coat of AutoGlym car polish.
  21. We have a lot of those on the road here in the UK all of a sudden. If you want to make one you can use the same hinge mech as on opening doors, just have two opposite sides hinged in the base and two in the top, or something like that!
  22. After over 40 years of marriage and 50 years of modemaking, my wife wanted the dining room table back, something about family coming over for Christmas dinner? So five years ago she helped me build this in the back garden................................... I've not been disturbed since. Doubled glazed , lighting, heating and fully insulated just the job, for just £2,400!
  23. Super VDub! I wish I was brave enough to try and chop any vehicle!

    Morgan 4/4

Superb build of a super British sportscar, and as you say in the right colour! Thanks for sharing. Morgan did supply the wheels in both aluminium and chrome finish. Except the Plus 8 which came with alloy wheels as standard or wires as extra's, at a price! Mind you a friend here in the UK had to wait seven years after ordering his Morgan! That's any model.
  25. Well done Douglas that looks superb! We had the Prodrive factory where they built all of the Subaru Rally team and customer cars just 20 miles from here in the UK.
