Thanks guys, yes I bought a few sets of those Centrelines. You have to buy a pack of 4 at 20 inch and a pack of 4 21inch, so to get the 'Bigs & Littles'. Another feature was the engine, the fan painted with orange clear and the pulleys covered with mesh as our road laws don't allow working parts like that uncovered.

Well I'm overwhelmed with your reactions, thanks guys! I have a see through purple one on the shelf, that has three piece real alloy Centrelines from Teds Modelling Marketplace already in the box! These are the purchase off ebay including the seats used in this one..............

I've just finished this build. I lowered it as far as it would go but it wasn't low enough so having sourced 21 & 20 inch Pegasus Centrelines I cut out the tops of the wings for further drop. (Suitable for USA Autocrossing) I made my own decals in the same theme, DC & Vans Shoes, Rockstar energy drink etc. Wired the mill and modded the exhaust. The seats came from a batch I bought on ebay here in the UK of thought to be 1960's AMT or Monogram made.Five different pairs of seats came yesterday at around 99p per pair. then put a few gauges on the dash.... I had already cast a plaster surfboard using a fridge magnet from OZ when we were there in 2003. I also had to use some alloy tubing as the rollover bar was badly twisted from the box........... Also adding to it decal from my recent printing................ Now to the shelves for the next build!

From ebay here in the UK some custom seats. I'm told they are from AMT or Monogram from the 1960's! Each pair was on a separate auction...... Now the decision? Which pair to use in a custom Manx (my 8th Manx)?

I love seeing the American style of 30's rods, but due to our petrol being around £6 a gallon I would never be able to afford to run one! Today the exchange would be $8.79 per gallon!

The BBC are talking to an actor to host a new motoring show. The pictures on this thread earlier are presenters of a long gone gardening show not good prospects for a fast driving show!

The price is also down to where we live. I'm in the UK and we don't have many LHS outlets, so we either have to rely on retail websites or ebay etc, as we don't see many 'American Car Kits' here.I mean depicting American cars. If there is a kit we want we have to source where they are available. I buy quite a few kits from retail websites based either in the USA or Japan and ebay UK or .com. We have a few model shows around the country each year, but they are 85% military based, which I don't build. At some shows there are swaps and parts bins, but you have to sort the bits yourself and are charged by how many bits you want. Yes we have to pay shipping and that sometimes doubles the price of the kit, plus UK Postal handling £8 and customs charges which vary by the weight of the package, this can add another between £5 and £10. But what choice do we have if we want to enjoy/continue our hobby.

As a modelmaker I build anything and everything and don't 'not like' anything! As modelmakers we should respect all other modelmakers and their genres, it's not up to any of us to say that they shouldn't post here or on any other 'Modelmakers' website. I like to see what other people build as there may be ideas there that I may want to use/copy/try out on one of my builds in the future. I personally like to modify/scratchbuild/create something different sometimes and their ideas may always come in handy. It improves my skills and outlook on modelling. One one site someone tried to tell me how I should paint/depict a particular subject, too serious, never 'tell' anyone how to do their hobby. There are some who have to build everything 100% correctly, to the date/year, colour, the wiring etc. To me too serious. We all must remember one simple thing this is a hobby and we shouldn't take it too seriously, it's supposed to be fun.

It's a good job we're not all the same, or that would be very boring. Somebody has taken time to build it, so they like it, so what. There's not a day goes by when we see vehicles that have been produced by all major manufacturers that look just damned ugly! So it's good that we all have different tastes in most things not just cars.

It's looking good already Tyler! I have one of these in a plastic bag with a Peugeot rally car.

Great looking racks! I remember having one on my '70's 1300, loaded with cases (before I hired a trailer) drove into a multi-storey car park on the way back from holiday. Forgot about the rack, hit the concrete overhang just inside the entrance and knocked the rack off it's legs, crash onto the roof! Reversed out, nice dent in the roof and went to a roadside parking space, and bolted the rack back on the rain gutter! As I said hired a trailer the next year, mounted a tow bar/hitch and sorted the lights/plug-in, cooler towing!

Or of course you can scratch build exhausts with sprue, alloy tube or solder. I'm looking at my latest aircooled project using drinking straws with the bendy tubing!

They all SEEM to be nice guys but don't be fooled. Bad news on TV last night, the BBC have backed down and are to continue with another show with these idiots but under another name! And we thought that it was gone at last!

All the way from Omnimodels in the states to me in the UK in just 6 days, the AMT Piranha Spy Car............... And Yes the Belkits range of Rally cars are very good indeed. I have my local LHS 20 miles away and he has them in stock. Very good quality and detail.

All over the Press on Sunday here in the UK, was the news that the Director-in-Chief of the BBC and his family are under armed guard after a death threat, if Clarkson is dropped from the programme! How stupid is this getting over a TV programme?

Clarkson had it coming, he thought that whatever he did he was invincible. He's an arrogant nasty piece of work in real life, has no respect for the public, his neighbours are sick of his loud noisy antics and disregard for the rules of the road. He recently rented a Hummer and went into his local High Street just to show off and got it stuck between two road signs in a very narrow road, he did no more than get out and walk away, leaving the whole town centre grid locked. When he was approached by both pedestrians and police alike he just shouted at them to 'F... Off!, very nice in front of children. If we don't see him on TV again it will be a pleasure! As for his two sidekicks they just follow him around like two lovesick puppies!

Thanks Tim for all of the info on this one. As a very big fan of air-cooled flat 4 and 6 cylinder engines (Multiple Meyers Manx builds) I am hooked Being in the UK I've had to order one from the USA, (and I was only there last week!) from Omni Models at I understand a good price (plus the Shipping and customs this end). With all of the conversation on this thread about the plastic colour, we or more I don't have to paint it blue anyway, but can add my own metalflake coat. From my perspective, Red Metalic or sunshine yellow would look good. Humbrol here have just issued to me three new 'Pearl' style 'Dual' colours in red, green and purple! And I'll perhaps use my latest fad of Centreline rims.

Yes Joe, the BMF is way too thin for me, so I tried something else! And it's way cheaper too for a 5 metre roll.
