  1. Best deal I got was a lot with a crappy description, no mention of what the kits were, so only the picture told you what it was. For $10 I got Revell's Tuner series Datsun 510, AMT reissued Barris' T Buggy, AMT 34 Ford 5 window, and a Thunderbird Nascar-McDonalds that I ended up trading for a Revell Richie Ginther Porsche 914-6, missing the windshield.
  2. Old timey swamp cooler. They used these before cars had air conditioning. Nice work, BTW. Looking very nice!
  3. The dust kinda looks like ashes from a wildfire.
  4. Hot & humid weather, (my workshop is in the cellar). Coming home hot sweaty and tired, then having to make dinner and do the dishes. Being angry, depressed, or otherwise in a state that is not compatible with detail work.
  5. Nice little car. I've had my eye on the Fujimi kit from Lupin III, but I can't afford it. http://youtu.be/aGTxs2QeWJg
  6. Beautiful work! Did you use Mustang wheels for Randars? I've done it before.
  7. Nice! Looks like a real survivor. The luggage and cooler came out fantastic.
  8. Neat! Here's a real life version similar to what your building.
  9. Here's James May from Top Gear going for a ride along with Block, in his old Subaru. [media=] I'd just like to add, you couldn't do this in a "real" car. There's a reason you would always see the General Lee buckle when it landed.
  10. Looks nicer than mine. I didn't use the shading of tan & brown on mine.
  11. I didn't see this when you first posted this. Nice work, and the diorama base is excellent. The update with the brake drum hub and getting rid of the seams on the 1/4 panel is very good. If you need anythign else to update, the impact strips on the bumpers should be chrome with a black rubber strip in the center. like:
  12. Excellent job. The color is spot on. My friend had a coupe that color. I've got a scar on my leg from pushing it out of the sand when it got stuck. Got hit witha rock, driver's fault, the owner was helping push, but since three of us pushed, we picked it up like a wheel barrow and shoved it a few feet.
  13. Brilliant! Very clean. Wish I would've grabbed one of these while they were on the shelves. Can't afford the secondary market prices now...
  14. Nicely done! There's some guy around here that's done this IRL with a vintage clubman ( I think he used a Ford or Chevy big block, though). I'd think you'd need some ballast in the back of that thing to keep it planted, especially when braking.
  15. This is turning out really well. The decals really bring the paint scheme together. I don't like the crazy exhaust designs like the star, because to me it screams, "Lookit this restrictive exhaust tip lolwhut!", not that yours doesn't look good, I jsut don't care for those.
  16. I was refering to this picture of the Franklin Mint die cast model. Just removing the studs and having a hole for the lugbolts would be accurate.
  17. I have the origianal Gunze Sangyo kit, and like the other 3 Gunze Sangyo kits I have from the mid 80s-early 90's, the tires rotted off in just a few years. These had a low profile tire I was never able to find soemthign to replace it with, without changing the wheels, too.
  18. Not a fan of the shaved taillights going on. The lights, front and rear, are part of the charachter of these cars. Only a handful of modern cars seem to have any charachter. I would say, white, bright yellow, or orange.
  19. I will have to get the money to buy this kit and do it properly. I bought Ecto II when it was new and converted it to a hearse, a rusty hearse, before It became cool. It came out OK, but I kinda regret not having the Ghostbusters car. Will keep an eye on this build as I woudl want to do the 1st version as well.
  20. Those look nicer than the ###### Town & Country funeral coaches I've seen lately.
  21. Franklin Mint got it wrong. The old VWs had a lug bolt. Troublesome on a stock wheel for the uninitiated. PITA on a off road vehicle with 31x10 BFG tires. There were conversions for studs, and a typical lug nut application, but not stock. I knew somethign was foggy with my memory, wasn't sure when/if type 1 & 2 went to the vented wheels the same year. I knew the bus had 3 different size wheels, but I didn't remember the years.
  22. IF I rememer correctly, Early bus wheels have 4 cooling slots. Like so:
  23. Those Airfix Euro-Fords look pretty cool to me. And, why do all these 60's models look like they're made out of sealing wax?
  24. Found this website that has soem interestign 1/24 diorama accesories. http://www.vstank.com/vsa/home/home.html Need to get back to work on my stuff, just got burnt out dealing with too many projects at once, and then dealing with wife aggro, and a recent funeral and the fallout from that.
  25. Beautifully done! What's with the orange breather hose, though?
