I believe, because of the rear windows, and the rear doors opening "normally" this was a hearse-ambulance-limo combination and could be used for any of those purposese. A hearse only would have the quarter windows filled and the rear doors would be "suicide".

Those came out beautiful. The grey car looks like it was photographed in black and white, then the red photoshopped.

Incredible work! Good choice keeping the engine Nissan. The amount of power to weight ratio with a turbocharged 6 cyl. is enough to make a V8 choke on your dust anyway.

I had the Devil Vette version of that kit. Monogram snap-kits are a bit more detailed than usual. I was surprised it had an actual engine.

The sun finally came out, (you'd think I lived in Seattle, it's been cloudy or rainy every weekend for a month) so I took some better pictures. Natural light is much better than the two lightbulb dungeon lamps. You can actually see the patch panel in these pics: Here, I fixed the placement of the tail lamps. Looked kinda goofy with them hanging over the fender.

This is my lates update, my OCD fix for the Destroyer. The engine was placed too far forward, and would probably make for an understeering, nose heavy pig. Before: After: Although in person you can see traces of the patch panel, the photo hides it. I've always said about photos of show cars, after seeing them in person, "a picture tells 1,000 lies." and my Ford 2.3 engine swap for the Beetle. Again, this was for my own OCD to correct a car that would handle badly, or possibly be a suicide machine. Engine is from an old Revell fox body Mustang. Weber side draft carbs are from a Tamiya Lamborghini, with scratch built aircleaners & pre-filters. Before: After:

I was expecting ONE of the old women to move, but not sure which one... I didn't recognize the name, but I know the work from Labyrinth and Dark Crystal. Hoggle was so freaky as a kid, becaue he looked so lifelike while being disproportionate. The long haired guy looks like a young Charles Manson, and the giant, hollow face looks like Morrisey.

I said a 10 second car, not a 10 minute car.

Revell AG MkII Golf. I was going to try and make a nice custom car, but between the ill fitting bodykit, and the two-tone paint reacting badly. (Duplicolor black and Plasticote silver, I believe).I tried to fix the paint twice, but got the same results... Should've gone with one color, or the other, I know. Anyways, I turned it into this amatuer weekend race car. My first rally car. A Fiat 131 Abarth. I was having trouble with the large decals, especially over the hood scoop and rear brake vents. The heavy mud hides alot.

This came out excellent. The color looks like a 60's custom! Makes me regret not getting one when they were in produstion.

I've seen this on Ebay. Been tempted to buy it, but not sure about the prices I've seen it for plus international shipping.

These were released almost 30 years ago (1983?), and being Japanese kits, they would be imports nearly everywhere else. The Destroyer/Cedric is the only one that shows up on ebay with any regularity, maybe a 2-3 times a year. I've only seen the others on Ebay a few times total. I'm still looking, so don't bid against me! Due to the scarcity, I made my own version of the Interceptor, and will probably make my own version of the Venus in the future.

That Porsche seat is terrible. I'e seen better seats in vintage 1/32 slot cars.

When I was a kid, I lost several to my brother and his IEDs; Revell Chevy 4x4 & Toyota 4x4 snaptites, a few Corvettes, Monogram 1/48 Patton & Tiger, and a 1/72 helicoptor. Ant that's what I can recall.

The same wheels are used on the Trans Am, it has the armor on the front wheels. The Celica and Trans Am share the front wheel armor, the two Nissans share the rear wheel armor. The Celica and Leopard share the same wheels, with a different shredder configuration. That's what I guessed as well - however, the rear wheels are inside the armor :0

I'm fairly sure the wheels are made to shred the tires of other vehicles, or combatants.

Most of you following the P.A. Community build, or interested in the genre have probably heard about these kits by now. Originally issued around 1984 by Fujimi, apparently to cash in on the Road Warrior phenomenon, which spawned many B grade movie imitators. Fujimi released 4 kits in the Mad Police series, Destroyer, a Nissan Cedric. Interceptor, a 79-82 Pontiac Trans Am. Venus, a MkII Celica-Supra (Celica XX). And Farcon (engrish misspelling of Falcon), a Nissan Leopard. All shared some common elements, and had armor and some sort of weaponry. This is my unboxing of The Destroyer, the most common of the 4 kits. There is a bit of flash, especially for a Japanese kit. The black plastic is kinda brittle. The mold for the Cedric body is damaged, as both the one I bought in 85, and this one 3 months ago that shipped from Hong Kong have a wavy trunk lid and trim. On a pristine car, this would be a troublesome fix, but on this type of car it can pass as physical damage to the actual car. The body in this kit comes in either white, or green. My old kit came with a white body, and this one is cast in green. These kits are curbside, and come with the motors and electrical connections to power the motor. The directions show you how to run lights, but are not included. The box art. All of the paintings are well detailed and look quite nice. The body and armored chassis. Dash and machine gun. "Clear" parts. Painting the police lights is a pain with this dark glass.. Interior parts,and battery box & switches. Figures and headlight light armor. The flat louvers are used in the Interceptor and Farcon kits. Fender armor, also used on the Farcon Tires, motor and electrical connections. The tires are unique, in that one side says Goodyear, and the other, Dunlop. Not sure that would fly with todays licensing agreements.

I think I'm one of 5 people that have posted updates in the last two months. But anyways, I made some updates to my interceptor. I cut out the door windows and added the damage to the left front fender, and right rear flare. You can now see all the junk on the floor, even though the movie car had much more in there. I've also done some OCD corrections to my Destroyer involving the engine, and started a second one. Right after these photos my camera died and the batteries won't recharge.

Nice work. The seat wear looks very good. Would these have a solid rear axle and a 5-lug wheel, though?
