  1. Jim... I saw some "prelim" pictures from the other site...I was waiting to see this one finished...your paint job(s) once again are the "bomb" right on. I hope you can make it to the NNL this year...we always have a blast...I'll touch base with you soon Again, great workmanship...and I hear you on the builders block....Kurt
  2. Dashboard is completed...redid some "button" switches/raised look...CB/Mic....GMC truck horn button. Kurt
  3. The yellow tape and the "orange" bar (Paint test) was used for the wheel/tire alignment, when attaching the wheels/glueing. Kurt
  4. Bill, I second on what Ben said.....cool indeed, and the "log" nice touch Kurt
  5. Jim....the flaps you sent me worked out great....Thank you What I did was to scan them...and did up some decals to apply them to white "mudflap" rubber material. Kurt
  6. 3/12/2012 Update Interior almost completed....another 1-2 coats of Future for the dash gauges (custom decals), Wheels are alligned and attached...working on the cab and hood (next)...shooting for completion, NNL East 4/21/2012 Kurt
  7. Jim...thank you Its good to hear from you, Kurt
  8. The color is: GM Tangier Orange...PPG/Plasticote Orange is a tough color to work with....and especially with my failing eyesight.... The Detroit fits well, and is period to the time, late 70's early 80's. The firewall for the cab needs to be installed. The cab seen is for test fit. The silver will hopefully start to fly "soon". I still hate this kit...even with all of the hard work, nothing fits correct. Thanks guys for the comments....Kurt
  9. 3/6/2012 Just some updates....progress is slow...this kit/build is really getting the "best" of me..Thank you to everyone so far, for the kind comments...Kurt
  10. Nice and shiny..... Gordon, nice work, Kurt Did you get that little package I sent you in the mail??
  11. Gordon, The truck looks great I like on how you applied the Auslowe Cummins engine....I know it wasn't easy...but it works!!! Kurt
  12. First...thank you to everyone for the comments Dave....it is not resin....when I got this latest "kit" it had every indication(s) of being the first release from AMT...even though the box art remainded the same...different plastic formula's/colors were later introduced...I have a few General cabs on this project....the later ones are horrible for mold markings...mold wearout.. Kurt
  13. I've seen these in the catalog....looks like I need to get a set or two...very nice, Kurt
  14. Bob....the aluminum tanks in the background are 1/24th scale...and for another project. I did do a custom 1/25th scale tank for this "guy"..1/24th was just a tad too big..for the over all "flow. Thanks, Kurt
  15. It will be the dual headlights...to represent an early 80's model...Thanks
  16. 2/19/2012 Update: "New" chassis is 99% completed...and will be in white primer later this week...and the the orange "flies" finally. Working on the fit and finish.... Kurt
  17. You have to respect the copyright issues with any MFG....so NO "kitty" decals.....
  18. A very nice build indeed....Kurt
  19. And soon to be the "finished" product.....Kurt
  20. Tony...there is always a possibility. I need you to help me out with a 1/16th wheel to do the Alcoa's on...Kurt
