  1. Thanks for the info Mike. I've already built the frame but maybe next time I get a wild hair I'll try the two steering axles. I'll look up that C5, sounds neat. I wish I could make this thing post pics but I've tried numerous times without any luck. I like your sig picture by the way I'm fishing for some of those in 1/16th scale....
  2. I've tried bleach without sucess, the chrome on the parts kinda turned yellowish but didn't come off after an hour or so. Maybe it was just the specific kit I was doing, age of the kit, whathave you. As a result, I use the cheapest generic Oven Cleaner I can get usually at Kroger or the $ General. It'll strip all the chrome off of the parts in about 10-20 minutes max. What I normally do is put the parts in a glass bowl, spray some cleaner in it, dump in the parts, spray someomore cleaner until everything is covered, let 'em sit for 10 minutes, rinse everthing off thoroughly, and check the progress. If needed, repeat. Wear gloves too, that stuff will definately let you know if you have any cuts on your fingers I'd definately rather smell the bleach than the oven cleaner but 10-20 minutes beats an hour+ in my opinion...
  3. Nice Vic, what year is it? I know it's an 03+, maybe 05-06+ since I see it has the drive by wire throttle body. I'm gonna try and sell mine and get an 02-04 Mustang GT or failing that an 05+ Interceptor.
  4. Thanks for the input guys. I've tried to load a pic or two but it isn't working. The icon says, "Uploaded xxx MB of xxx MB" but the little spinner thing keeps on spinning no matter how long I wait. Anyway, eventually I'll get it figured out...MAYBE! Ok, more input, I haven't decided whether to do an Aerodyne or a regular sleeper. What do you guys think, I'm partial to the Aerodyne. Man, I wish I had the talent/ability to stretch a sleeper, I'd love to have it a bit longer. I'm in the process of cobbling the twin turbos & their plumbing in between working on my Chargers.
  5. Lordy I miss my 69 Road Runner. Man, what it would be worth now....SIGH !!! I miss my 69 Nova, my 68 Dart, my 91 5.0 too. Now I'm all depressed and stuff Nice GTX Ohana. Best of luck to you Mr. Poster....
  6. Ok, among the many projects I have going on is a 1/16 KW. I wanted to do something quite different (an 18 wheel tractor) so I stretched the frame and added two extra drive axles. I've seen three axle dumps & semis and I know the foremost axle is not a driver. After I built the frame & got everything built up, I started thinking, "Would this this actually be able to turn?" Anybody think it would or would not in real life? At any rate, as I said I wanted something different so why not? It's all about having a good time right? It will also ultimately be a twin turbo (maybe a quad turbo). Please gimmee some input. I will try to take a pic or two today and see if I can get 'em to post, I'm not the most komruter literate dude.
  7. I've got some beaters I'm gonna fool with, so I'm at least trying. I built fill panels for two DOH Chargers I'm working on, that kit panel is way too small. They turned out pretty decent for my 1st try at filling seams & all, I used super glue but I'm gonna try some body filler soon. I am going to try to fill the blower cut out in a Street Charger hood and see if it comes out half-way decent.
  8. I have a 2001 Crown Vic Interceptor, they are pretty quick for a big car, relatively inexpensive, get decent mileage, are comfortable, easy to maintain, and people get the hell out of my way on the road. You'd think a retired Cop would have something other than what was their work car, but I like 'em. My wife drives an 05 Pontiac Montana. I am planning on finding myself an 02-04 Mustang GT and selling the beasty. I haven't had any fun toys in a long time. My last fun one was a 1991 Mustang 5.0 I bought when I got back from the Persian Gulf War in 1991. Man, I miss that car............
  9. Love 'em. I love plain brown wrapper police cars , I even bought one of my old patrol cars after I'd gotten my new one issued. I did a Monaco copy of my Dad's 77 unmarked from when he was a Deputy some time ago.
  10. Ditto on the goodies sheets, I know I'd get some...
  11. Awesome Job! I wish I could do bodywork. I've got a sleeper for one of my WIP 1/16th KW's I wish I could stretch. Fantastic work!
  12. Purple is my favorite color so I have lots of purple stuff. I will try to upload a pic of a purple 1/16th Kenworth WIP, I kinda went loco with it, stretched the frame a bit and added two more rear drive axles for an 18 wheeler before the trailer (I was bored...)
  13. Nice, I wish I had the ability to do "bodywork" I'm working on a few of these Street Chargers and Dukes cars right now. I sure do hate those front wheel wells
