Something I've been working on for a bit...
Bonekrosha replied to SpikeSchumacher's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I am definately not a fan of the Pro-Touring scene, but that is really pretty! -

Anybody want a Liberty Transmission?
Bonekrosha replied to TedsModeling's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Yeah, I'd spend $30 on it for a certain project I've got in mind. Having the shifter & linkage would definately be awesome, I'd almost rather buy that and scratch myself out a tranny -
Good Bye Dimey 9/26/04 6/28/12

Please accept my sincerest condolences. My Patches is an almost 14 year old Lab that still gets around 90% like a puppy. I swore I'd never get another dog after I lost my boyhood pal Pepper an Australian Shepherd. But then you see a new puppy and you just can't help yourself. As hard as it is, jump in with both feet and get you another baby -

Yup, I'd want one provided it wasn't priced through the roof -
Nice work on your model. That green Charger thing looks bent in the middle

Just got my Dukes Charger to Daytona conversion kit in the mail from RMR. Ron provided fast response to my e-mails and fast shipping. I will be starting on the nose here in a few minutes and wil try to post some pics soon. I have not decided if I will bother with modifying the rear window area on my Charger, we'll see.

Paint Strippers - What to Use?
Bonekrosha replied to pbj59's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've used bleach with limited results. Welfare (no-name brand) Oven Cleaner works the fastest for me, minutes if not seconds for clean parts.... -
Lordy I sure do miss my 69 RR !!! Pretty build!

Supercar1.com has 1/18th scale versions of all three of his Daytonas in case somebody might be interested... -
I was actually at the Winternationals that year. I talked to Eddie Hill after the blowover and he was a really cool guy, not cool enough to give me the blower hat off the car, but still a cool guy. For a while Don Garlits had his wrecked blowover car on display at his museum outside Ocala, FL with a running lop of the video from the wrec, awesome. Big Daddy is cool too, deaf as a post poor guy. I've gotten to meet him several times and twice at his museum.

Awesome! Ditto on the wedge choice. I love Hemis but it's nice to see a regular big block Mopar (as if the Max Wedge motors were regular)...

I LOVE Pro-Street and am so very tired of all the Pro-Touring that is continuously shoved down the throats of readers of Hot Rod, Car Craft, etc.

Just kidding. I am working on several DOH variations in 1/16th. I was going to do one as a twin turbo hemi but I am really havign a hard time justifying spending $30 on a set of turbos from TDR no matter how pretty they are. I've modified the kit intake into a relatively close approximation of a Rat Roaster but I've been thinking of doing something a bit different and I'd lke to guage the collective consensus as to what I will ultimately do. Dual quads are easy, so I am thinking of doing a 12 Pack (3 Dominators) in deference to the old tripower Super Bee Six Pack and Road Runner 6 BBL cars. What do you guys think? Stupid or kinda cool. Waiting for some input my friends, hit me..

You can cheat a little and just shift the front frame forward a little, the wheel bases are pretty close. It's been a while since I built one but if I recall it was "almost" a drop in deal...

One of the Mopar mags (Mopar Muscle I think) did an article on this car not too long ago if I'm not mistaken. The old found in a barn story. I'll see if I can find the issue..

Anyone here play guitar?
Bonekrosha replied to SuperStockAndy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks. I have some pics on my facebook page under Michael R. Winters of them. Take a peek and lemmee know what you think -
I know it's weird but I love these cars. I like the Monaco grill better than the Fury's. I remember as a kid my Dad had an unmarked 440 77 Fury for his assigned patrol car for several years. It was my favorite of all of his Po-Po cars. I actually picked up a 77 Monaco for $500 when I lived in California in 1989. It was from Universal Studios and was used a alot on the old Simon & Simon show, it was used for the shots in front of the Police Station so every now and then when I find a rerun I get to see my old beasty. 440, no cats, loved it, wish I'd never sold it. As far as the models go, I did a Monaco version of my Dad's car, a Pro-Street blown hemi version, bunch of others as different Sheriff's Offices, etc. The frame on those things suck so I normalaly use a frame out of the AMT Road Runner/GTX models, and lengthen the frame slightly so the wheel base is correct.

I play some. I have 9 Ovation products: 1968 Deluxe Balladeer (Shiney Bowl) My Dad's guitar, they bought it when I was a baby and he played and sng in bars to bring in extra money to feed us. He gave it to me the year before he was killed in an auto accident. 1977 Custom Balladeer (My Son's 1st Ovation) 1980's Applause (My Son's beater guitar) 1981 Concert Classic (Nylon String) 1987 Collector's Series (A/E) 1988 Collector's Series (A/E) 1989 1718 Deep Bowl Elite (A/E) (Now my Son's, he got a nice birthday present 1990 12 String Custom Legend built as a custom for me by Ovation. I had it done kind of as a tribute to my Dad. 2005 Adamas W-597 Cobalt (A/E) AN AMAZING GUITAR! Lastly, 2009 Composite Acoustics OX (A/E) Donated to me when I was in Iraq. All carbon fiber construction, impervious to weather changes so t's a perfect deployment guitar. At any rate, I have waaaaay more money tied up in my guitars than I have playing ability -
Paint Strippers - What to Use?
Bonekrosha replied to pbj59's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
As soon as I started sraying the first coat on my General Lee project, the paint immediately crazed I got some of this stuff and it's amazing how well it works! It stripped all the paint off, even the primer, after a total of about 24 hourS. I let the body & hood soak for about 12 huours upside down, got a tooth brush, and lightly scrubbed off the paint & primer. Super Easy! I flipped the body over and repeated the process. Again, this stuff worked great for me. Additionally, the line where the stuff came up to the body line was very sharp, like it was masked off, kinda interesting that it doesn't bleed "up".
