What kit are you using as a base? I treally is a difference of scales as the Johan kits are a bit smaller. The AMT Road Runner/GTX/Super Bee pro-street kits should work just fine with little modification. You can shift the front clip forward or back to deal with wheel base differeences if needed.

Nice ! Yeah, thats the flywheel & clutch.

Modern twin turbo V8 parts?
Bonekrosha replied to matthijsgrit's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Mirrored turbos are rarely to seen in the real world as they are much, much more expensive. Most real world folks just clock them to adjust for intake and exhaust angles Do a google or bing search for twin turbo v-8's and you'll see a multitude of clocked dual turbos and a handful mirrored ones but man do the mirrored ones look great. I got my turbos from TDR Innovation, they were 1/16th but I'm pretty sure they have them in smaller scales. Beautiful pieces. Just for grins, here is a pic of my Po-Leece car WIP with a twice turbo 440.... -
Eric, I know you weren't criticising,I just wanted to ensure that Tesla57 knew that the nose on that purple thing was in fact a Daytona nose

A beauty! I love that color. I'm more partial to the 'Birds as well but you've sure made on pretty Daytona.

I've bought a few of the Daytona Conversion Kits for the DOH Charger and I like them and would recommend them without reservation. I am going to finagle one onto one of the Street Charger bodies at some point just to do it. I'm sure Mr Magnum just used that pic as it shows pretty clearly the differences in the noses. I rather sure that purple thing is a 70 charger (by the side scoops on the door) with the wing and nose put on (which doesn't fit well on those 70 front fenders). The Daytonas could be had with buckets, the bench seats in them are scarce in comparison. A bench in a Superbird is even harder to come across. As far as the nose on the Daytona, I always thought it looked kind of unfinished without the ridge line coming off the hood being carried down as with the Superbird. On the one car WIP I actually have the nose grafted on, I flattened out the ridge line on the existing hood just to make it look more uniform for my tastes. Making a Superbird out of the Charger would be a bear to say the least. For that matter, if there were even a stock 70 Road Runner body to start off with, to make it a Superbird you'd still have a ton of work to do such as the back glass but especially the front fenders since they used Dodge Coronet fenders to make them. I sure do hope somebody comes along and does some alternate bodies for these cars, that would be fantastic. Surely whomever does it can make some dough on them, I know they would from me Anyway, I do not profess to be an expert on anything here, just throwing my two cents in.

How "Rare" are 1/16 trailers?
Bonekrosha replied to Evilbenny's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've only seen the Flatbeds too. They do show up on E-bay from time to time for around a starting bid of say, $50, they sell for between $75 & $100 or so. I thought I'd heard they are to be re-issued as with the Pete & KW re-issues. -

I didn't see the Lenco lever set in the 1/16th section. I'm gonna need a set shortly. Did I miss 'em? -

Awesome! I'll be ordering some stuff for sure. Please, Please, Please keep doing 1/16th stuff -
I don't know if this has been posted before or not but I make throttle return springs for my 1 16th cars from my worn out guitar strings (I'm sure they would work fine for smaller scales too). What I do is pull a few "coils" loose from one of the ends of the four heavier strings until I can get a little of the "Gut" material to show, kinda like a wick. Then I just burn the wick with a lighter and it will travel up the string a bit before it runs out of oxygen to burn. You are left with basically an empty coil. You just stretch it out a little, cut a length of it, and you've got some nice springs with uniform coils, really, really fast.

I love these cars. I wish I hadn't got rid of my Ex-CHP Monaco... Very nice looking build.

I never knew they had 4 bangers in them. I had a 69 in Butternut yellow, one owner, 69K miles with a 230 c.i. 6 & powerglide. The upper seat belts hadn't ever been moved from their headliner clips. The only option it did have was power steering. I wish I still had that car! I've got to get one of these kits and make one of my car. Very nice build so far...

I do the same thing on mine as far as tucking the tires under. Love the color and I'm looking forward to seeing more of this one!
