My old Chevette wasn't a rocket by any means but it would do one heck of a burnout.
Also, my front shocks were pretty worn so I would drop it into 1st and jump on and off the gas.
Around "Hop" #4 the front tires would actually come off the ground a few inches.
Since it was green everybody called it the frog.
I had spun aluminum "Salt Flat" disc wheel covers and whenever I pulled up to my buddies,
if I didn't get out of the car fast enough to stop them, they'd grab the luggage rack on the roof and
rock the car side to side until the discs popped off.
I'm actually really looking forward to getting my son's car going.
Shoot, I think you've inspired me to put down my 1/16th scale projects and do a couple Chevettes
I have waiting around to get built.
