I know just how you feel.

Sad has been my deep emotional state since 1970, but I try not to go there too much.

I build custom harnesses, and install, adapt, modify, and augment generics like Painless and American Autowire, retrofit late-model engine harnesses, or standalones for swaps, and integrate hardware and ECMs that were never intended to work together. It's not cheap, but it's not rocket science either. I've been at it since I was 18.

Strange Brew

Miller in the little pony bottles iced down to hurting-cold used to be the absolute best way to start the Friday wind-down after a hot sweaty week. -

On that happy thought, I think I'll think of something else.

Atkinson and Clarkson on cars...
Ace-Garageguy replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Never having met the man, I have no real idea about how he conducts himself. That said, after reading your comment, I did a little research about the guy, and the general perception on the web is that he's neither arrogant nor a mammalian exhaust port. I'm not finding any references to the incident you refer to either (though I've not done an exhaustive search), and as much as the web loves to rebleat anything negative about anybody, particularly if they disagree with anything said person has ever espoused, I find that curious as well. I'm not arguing with you, as you apparently are stating you actually saw this happen, but are you absolutely certain? -
UPS. Texted me this AM my water heater would be here today, so I stayed home to make sure the neighborhood porch pirates don't get it. Fine. I can do some catch-up on my paperwork. So now I check the tracking and they say my address is incorrect, delivery "may be delayed". Really? Same address for 10 years, same address as on the order, same address both Home Depot and UPS have delivered to in my name multiple times since I've been here. I AM SO SICK OF CONSTANT INCOMPETENCE THAT INVARIABLY COSTS ME TIME AND MONEY.

Don't leave your keys in the car and then act surprised if it's gone when you come back. -
Forum rules wouldn't be compromised, but it's something private I have no wish to share.

"Helpers" in the "mother's little" context reminds me of something that happened when I was a junior in high school, but that's all I'm going to say.

Beer in little icy cold pony bottles used to be the perfect end to a hot workday.

Another misunderstood potential problem is car covers. Anything in contact with the paint for any time, especially after rain or heavy dew, will hold a film of moisture, even the "breathable" covers, and when the sun hits 'em, often times the paint will begin to blister, with rust not far behind. I ruined the finish on my '86 Jag in 3 months before I was aware of this fact.

It seems a lot of folks don't like raw oysters for just that reason.

What Did You See In Your Yard Today?
Ace-Garageguy replied to Tim W. SoCal's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
County "code enforcement" truck out in the street as I was drinking my second cup of coffee, went out to meet him, reminded him of what he'd wanted done, showed him the paperwork and tags on the remaining vehicles, everything's fine, I'm once again an upstanding citizen in "compliance". We both smiled, I thanked him for working with me, we shook hands, he drove away. Though I still somewhat resent being told what to do on private property because some busybody Karen complained, I really don't have any gripes with the county guy. No power trip, no pushing authority, very friendly and reasonable attitude. It'd be nice if every interaction with the gubmint went so well.
