  1. Devices that do our remembering and thinking for us are allowing our mental abilities to atrophy, just like getting no exercise doesn't maintain physical fitness.
  2. Find your inner strength, grasshopper.
  3. "Proof is in the pudding" so the saying goes, but I always thought pudding to be an odd place to store empirical evidence.
  4. How does a UV-curing product cure inside a joint where UV can't reach it to initiate the reaction?
  5. Good and bad are not necessarily polar opposites, and then there's ugly.
  6. Simpler Simon said something to a pieman, but I forgot just exactly wot.
  7. Interesting, and a couple even have some merit. Also interesting is that even the worst of them (well, almost) are no more horribly bizarre than some of the styling departments' and talentless customizers' efforts in days past. The '70 Eldo is one of the most perfect designs to ever have been built, so it's no real surprise that AI fails to improve it...though I wonder where it got the idea for the reverse-leaning back window that looks like an old Mercury...
  8. Bill preparation is the least enjoyable part of my jobs, but the results are worth it.
  9. Google's idiotic auto-complete on every search. It's pretty obvious at this point the powers-that-be at Google think they're smarter than everybody else. They're not...not by a long shot. Midwits, every one of 'em.
  10. School ain't what it done used ta was wen thay teeched how ta rite.
  11. Weather forecast for the coming weekend looks like it'll be perfect for a long hike in the woods Saturday or most likely, Sunday.
  12. "Situation reports" are referred to as sitreps by really important folks who like to sound military and whose time is too incredibly valuable to waste saying whole words.
  13. They still make 'em, though they're not as ubiquitous as they used to be. EDIT: Members who suggested dollar stores for these, or other handles from Walmart, etc. have good ideas, but when you can buy high-quality transparent red acrylic plastic sheet- and rod-stock in small quantities, why anyone would still want to mess with consumer-goods handles of some unknown material eludes me.
  14. You definitely have a point, sir.
  15. Presentations of the marketing and product-development variety are what I built full-scale, sometimes fully-functional models for, during several years of my professional life.
  16. Midnight Rider is a song I always kinda liked, though I really didn't have much use for the performers.
  17. Clause copy-and-paste from dictionary definitions seems to be becoming a theme here.
  18. "Back when I was young, such-and-such was better..." is a refrain common to many old geezers.
  19. "Dentist" strikes fear into the hearts of many a brave man.
  20. I always thought it would be kinda cool to work a recognizable Chevy truck nose back into the design, and cut the bubble top down into a wrap-around windshield/side window setup.
  21. Brushing one's hair at an advanced age can be a risky endeavor, leaving most of one's hair on the brush.
  22. "Tipe" either is a word or isn't a word, depending on which internet source you prefer to consult.
  23. There are those of us who've never had a problem with the stuff...so far.
  24. "Dollars to donuts", as in "I'll bet you dollars to donuts" made more sense in a world where a donut cost 25 cents.
