  1. I have recurring issues with deliveries, similar to what's described above. Mine have been ongoing for some time, are sporadic, but are worse just recently. Complex systems can be failure-prone. The more complex the system, the more ways it can fail, and endless tinkering with something that works just fine by adding multiple layers of additional, often unnecessary complication "to make it better" rarely has a totally positive outcome. Incompetence or laziness on the part of workers in any complex field, whether it be aircraft assembly and maintenance, software development, or package delivery, increases the likelihood of failure of a system at some level.
  2. Yet again, I have multiple shipments coming that have apparently gone off the rails somewhere.
  3. Humid is as humid does.
  4. Program the plebs to ridicule and scoff at anything that's not program-approved thought or opinion.
  5. See Daddyfink's post above... "Can also be assembled into the North American spec Datsun 240Z" IF that means what it says, it's 2 variable-venturi Zenith-Stromberg or Hitachi carbs, LHD, steel wheels, and hubcaps.

  7. Wait...WHAT??? I thought all those mirrors were to check your toupee or makeup. You mean you're s'posed to use 'em while you drive????
  8. Looks like quality Is still Job One. And I thought I had to compensate for idiots...
  9. Eyem bee needin a feww ah deeze.
  10. Now that the sum of human knowledge is instantly accessible from a pocket-sized device, many believe it's not necessary to actually know anything anymore, and lotsa folks really get with the program.
  11. Ask Google a question and you'll get 1000 stupid answers.
  12. For he's the pineapple jello, but I am the walrus.
  13. "BS" is a reference that can get you a reprimand 'round here...
  14. I'll definitely be climbing on this train as soon as "I've got to have it FIRST!!!" clowns get out of the way and the prices drop. I'm thinking it's probably only a matter of time before these folks do a stock '32 something. Just hope it happens during my lifetime.
  15. Information overload can ruin your day, particularly when much of it is contradictory.
  16. I recall speaking with you at one of the ACME events, and remember the 1mm reference. I've done a lot of work developing methods to make 1/24-1/25 fiberglass parts down around .020"-.030", but to be able to print at 1mm would be a fantastic game changer for me. The question is whether I'll ever invest the effort to develop the capability....but your work sure is inspiring.
  17. Left sitting out in the weather, cars deteriorate faster than if they're used regularly.
  18. I appreciate that. I'll be taking what I've learned over the years and applying it to building my own stuff...but no more customer work, ever...unless the economy totally blows up and everything we know as "security" disintegrates. EDIT: When I'm building my own stuff, I'm rarely in a hurry, and I already have almost everything I need for multiple projects anyway. So if a delivery takes longer than 'I'd like, I'll just go somewhere and do something else for fun in the interim.
  19. That was then and this is some other time.
  20. Try running a business that depends on timely deliveries from multiple suppliers every week. EDIT: Nobody pays me extra for organizing my workflow so that I can order parts and materials two weeks to 30 days in advance to compensate for less-than-efficient shipping...which is another reason that after these last two projects, I quit.
  21. Youngster hands sometimes fail to develop skills as they become adult hands.
  22. Program cars are vehicles that have been leased or purchased by a car dealership from an automobile manufacturer, like my Dodge Neon early in its life.
  23. Receptors in the human nervous system work with neurotransmitters to enable cell-to-cell communication.
  24. Agar is primarily a consumable food additive in the US today. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agar https://study.com/academy/lesson/what-is-agar.html#:~:text=Agar is a gelatin-like,want to culture and identify. We used a nutrient-enriched version called agar-agar to grow bacteria in high school science classes. It's not a preferred material for mold-making that requires very fine detail-capture, and for molds that can be used repeatedly over time. There are so many engineered materials that are made specifically for the purpose, like silicones and urethanes, I fail to understand the motivation to use oddball stuff for mold-making.
  25. Don't feel bad. Google gets stupider every day, and I spend a lot of time searching. And you're welcome, sir.
