"Ceremony" is often substituted for substance, lotsa talkin' the talk without walkin' the walk, so to speak.

Great model, but every time I see "New York look" I immediately think either completely gone to rust from halfway down the doors and beaten like a 30-year old unlicensed cab, or covered in graffiti inside and out like the subway cars used to be.

"Properly chastised" doesn't necessarily mean hammering a jerk into the ground, but sometimes it sure can be tempting.

You present convincing evidence that brush painting bodies is a viable option, but I think I'll sty with my stinky old spray jobs. The thought of brush painting bodies makes me shudder when I recall the awful messes I made when I was a kid, and then how dramatically my results improved immediately upon switching to AMT, Pactra, and Testors rattlecans.

3D Printed Wire Wheels
Ace-Garageguy replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
My guess would be complaints about the fragility. IIRC, Casey was apparently having "fragility" complaints on the gorgeous wide-five '36 Ford wheels he was making...of which I was lucky to get a few sets, and haven't had an issue yet. -
Today is, by all accounts, even weirder than yesterday.

1941 Ford truck 4 cylinder engine
Ace-Garageguy replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yeah, I'd try to start with an A engine too. If you can find one of these old 1/24 Monogram kits, you're halfway home. -
Yup. I'm actually looking for a Suzuki Samurai with a blown engine. Sorry to hijack the thread. Back to business. I really like Kurt's idea. But how about this...a Honda N360 set up like a rally car, with a built Honda B16 or B18 mounted transversely in the back seat?

People, people who eat people, they're the hungriest people in the world...

Life is, to a large extent, what you make it.

Calling people to try to trick them out of money really has to be one of the lowest bottom-feeder professions.

Pretty wild. Kinda has an alternate-reality sci-fi vibe.

Maybe my little Geo Metro convert needs to get planted on a light 4X4 rig. Hmmmmmmmmmm...

Fortunately for folks in the flimflam business, most people aren't too great with math...or logic.

Yeah, Ziebart was a big one, again where they'd drill holes to spray the stuff inside the structure and doors. Some cars are hot-dip galvanized today, others are dipped in a penetrating primer after the shells are fully welded together, so the pinch welds are protected from moisture incursion. But sheetmetal is much thinner now too, so once structural rust gets a toehold, it goes pretty quick. I've seen fairly late-model trucks with frame rails rusted through, and FWD subframes no longer attached to anything, because the factory did pretty much nothing to protect them on the inner surfaces. I've also seen newer unibody cars fatally rusted from the inside-out through the rockers and floors, even though thickly undercoated from the bottom. All the structural sheetmetal was gone, but there was a shell of undercoating that looked like structure remaining...until you hit one hard bump too many. Unscrupulous used-car dealers buy spray undercoating by the 55 gallon drum.

Movie time at my house is usually after a hard day's work, when I just want to turn my brain off and stare mindlessly at something and drool like Homer.
