  1. I usually use the old AMT parts pack version of the Scintilla / Vertex / Joe Hunt units, and drill them myself. The Morgan Automotive V.a looks most like the mags I like the best, as well as their Schiefer style, with the Detail Master running second. I don't really like the group of wires in one big hole on the ProTech, though I'll use one if it's all I've got and I'm in a hurry.
  2. Thank you, sir. I'll do a thorough parts count in not too long.
  3. To look hard at reality and ask questions about what's going on around you, or to obliviously accept what you're told because thinking isn't easy: that is the question.
  4. Coffee is one of the things they'll have to take from me by force; when coffee is outlawed, only outlaws will be awake.
  5. Cigarettes are among the small vices (not vises) I miss on occasion, though I haven't smoked regularly in over two decades.
  6. I always enjoy coming across this... “A coward dies a thousand times before his death, but the valiant taste of death but once. It seems to me most strange that men should fear, seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come.” ― William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar
  7. Happier I'm not, if I'm expected to compromise my own way of thinking to appease a woman...or anyone; nope, no, and definitely no.
  8. The built late Ford J-car I got cheap ended up missing more parts than I'd thought, so when I came across this semi-virgin for semi-reasonable money I sprung for it. Using it for patterns for the missing parts on the other one, I should be able to come up with a complete painted version, and one full clear-body version.
  9. Another semi-grail, the old Howmet turbine car, almost complete and unmolested. Missing a couple of small parts I can easily make. I already had the open "Can-Am" version it got retooled into, but I'd always wanted a model of the historically-correct real car. Paid more than I wanted to, but a good bit less than I've seen them go for, so I'm content.
  10. If I knew for certain who it was, that would be one thing. But I've never seen any of my neighbors with any kind of bow.
  11. Yeah, some kind of truck.
  12. Entertaining the masses requires increasingly seems to be focused on appealing to the dumbest person in the room.
  13. Wheels from Casey's Forward Resin. Among the highest quality resin parts I've ever seen, easily up there with Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland
  14. There actually is one big male who'll stop by occasionally, and he and Spot will yowl and hiss, but he goes on about his way, and a little later, the others will be outside rubbing on the glass.
  15. Last thing I heard from out West was there's already early snowstorms shaping up to dump on the part of the Colorado River watershed that feeds Lake Mead eventually. I sure hope so.
  16. I sure am glad the folks who put on the show here last November opted not to cower under the bed with their remaining hoard of toilet paper and masks, and they're not this year either. Funny...we didn't see an outbreak or any lawsuits, and almost nobody was masked up at last year's event. I guess different people see life very differently.
  17. No pix, but my cat's been camping in the laundry room for the last year. I don't let him out anymore, 'cause there's too much traffic, too many loose dogs and coyotes, and some just plain evil people who have mutilated a couple of my ferals and left them to die. Yes, really. One with an arrow through his neck. Anyway, my cat has a nice view of the back yard through sliding glass doors, and a few months back, one of his feral offspring (who I feed on the front door) started to visit him and hang out on the other side of the glass. They'd try to rub against each other, and try to rub noses. And she'd sometimes sleep on the step next to the door, with my cat asleep inside. I've never seen cats behave like this before. But recently, the three kittens from her last litter, my cat's grandkids, (weaned now, and getting big) have started hanging around on the step out there too, just keeping my cat company. Anyone else ever see feral cats develop a relationship with an indoor cat?
  18. Live in fear, and above all, OBEY.
  19. Not having a clue never rarely stops anyone from having an opinion.
  20. Being a geezer has certain advantages, and it certainly beats being young and dumb, which I well remember.
