  1. And everyone knows that anything on YT that hasn't been taken down or plastered with disclaimers is absolutely true, correct, and exhaustively, scientifically verified by people who really really do know everything about everything, and is free from any spin trying to push a particular narrative.
  2. Trees are being cut by the hundreds of thousands, to burn for for heat, as many Europeans face winter with no icky petroleum to burn.
  3. "Man" is a word (and a concept) that can get you in trouble these days.
  4. I used to run my GT6 on 151. Now that smelled good.
  5. Really cool. I love to see stuff like this brought back.
  6. "Duh...muh duh huh unnh?" (as I drool on the keyboard). Man...I'm blind. Now I see the wings and the flaps drooping. Geez. I better not use anything sharp this PM.
  7. "Displayed only" or "played with a little" makes a big difference in the quality of pre-owned diecasts.
  8. Nice work so far...
  9. Mr. Postman brought me a couple of sad little Ford J-cars, one early, one late, both semi-grails, both started, bodged, and given up on...but savable and way cheaper than virgins.
  10. Yup. A PBY Catalina flying boat, dating back to before WW II. The wing, both engines, and the fuselage forward of the wing pylon are missing in the other shot. Though one engine and prop are on the back of the tractor, I don't believe they're from the Cat.
  11. Much of the aircraft is missing...
  12. Though it's labeled 1/24, the Revellogram '37 Ford frame works fine with only minor adjustments under a 1/25 model. I've used that chassis under both AMT '36 and '40 Fords.
  13. Funny how frequently that group appears, and rarely seem to be firing on all eight.
  14. Responsibility for one's own life outcomes isn't a popular concept when much of the culture is focused on blaming somebody else for everything.
  15. I realize you said you've seen resin kits...this looks pretty good. Maybe I need to track one down, as other than diecasts, there doesn't appear to be much else. https://www.scalemodellingnow.com/hnvehicles-motor-museum-in-miniature-1956-1962-morris-minor
  16. I'm 99.999% sure there was a smaller scale styrene kit (1/32?) available, because I kinda remember building one not very well eons ago. Seems there was a 1/24 too...I'm checking...but I could be wrong. EDIT: 1/38 or so, on the ancient Revell kit I remember:
  17. Parts sources or mod fodder are what I primarily see when I look at most model kits, rather than as things to be built as they come.
  18. I'd have to disagree with some of this. 1) Racing prep is one of those businesses that works on ability, and doesn't hire based on gender or ethnicity quotas. You don't succeed in that arena with a bloated crew of marginal performers doing the work just barely well enough to kinda get by...which is the business model for many companies today. 2) Biofuels have been working pretty well in all sorts of stuff for a long time. Though the corn-based alcohol program is mostly an inefficient feel-good boondoggle, other bio fuels do indeed have the capacity to save IC engines (as Keyser noted) where their use is rational, and turbine/jet powered aircraft. I had friends in Germany decades ago running their old Merc diesels on cooking oil, and it works just fine if you do it right. Off-roader prepper types have consistently demonstrated that reclaimed waste cooking oil is a viable fuel source too, and biodiesel can be produced by feeding algae the carbon dioxide released by burning coal for electricity, with the potential for a carbon-neutral energy cycle.
  19. They ALL have serious fitment issues. It's a challenging kit, no matter which release you have.
  20. It's been re-released several times, so if you decide to keep that one as a time capsule, you can still build one. Below is what I did with it...
  21. "Channel someone with a brain why don'tcha" is a frequent thought I have while watching the daily news.
  22. "Time out of mind" means a very, very long time ago.
  23. There was a time when people could understand the point of humor. Today, not so much.
  24. That does not compute (in my tiny little brain, anyway). In that case, just cut the axle tubes shorter. Seriously, I go to a lot of trouble to get my QC installations to be pretty close to right, mix and modify parts, etc., so I really don't know what to tell you. BUT...the AMT double dragster kit has two pretty good earlier style QC units, typical of several in other AMT kits with steel axle bells...and a bajillion other cool parts too.
  25. What kinda car, what period are you wanting to put one under?
