  1. Both builds look real good. Had the opportunity to see the 1:1 Eliminator in person at the Rock & Roll hall of fame a few years back. Dare I say your version looks better. The 1:1 had some stone chips & patina, presumably from being driven as a well used Hot Rod lol. Had a couple of pans underneath to catch all of the fluids leaking out of it too. To say that it needs a full resto is an understatement. You should be proud of yours.
  2. What can I say - the one and only time I made this modification, the two bodies were not the same. Anyways, not trying to hijack your post - keep up the good work. Look forward to the finished product.
  3. To get a color close to that shade, I used a Duplicolor GM shade over Duplicolor dark grey/black etching primer. Unfortunately I don't recall exactly which one-either Emerald Green Pearl, or Forest Green Pearl (I have both on hand). Paid $7.99 per can at the local parts store, usually enough to paint 2-3 car bodies.
  4. Agreed-this build is coming together nicely. As a builder, it's always nice to get to this stage because you can start to see the end of the tunnel. I also share your pain with that deck lid. Seems like it only fits the 32 5 window body. I made similar mods when I retrofited that deck lid on to a Revell 32 3 window body. Who knew that they weren't the same?
  5. Nice! This kit is one of my favorites
  6. Nice - always loved Derek Cope's car. Goes without saying, never get tired of the ole #3 Chevy!
  7. Well-you don't get much more detailed than that!?
  8. I've seen generic drop beams made of resin on eBay and other aftermarket vendors. Modifying the kit stock pieces or scratch building is the most cost effective way.
  9. Wow-that's amazing
  10. Clean build
  11. Nice looking car
  12. @Tim: I just built a 57 Bel Air and consumed nearly a full sheet of BMF. Talk about time consuming? The end result was worth it.
  13. Wouldn't say that I was ever intmdated by BMF, but I certainly had been frustrated with the stuff at times! Cost was also a factor for me. Living in Canada, there are so few vendors who support the hobby, let alone offer aftermarket items. The two locations within a 3hr drive of my home want $20+ per sheet! Thank god for on- line vendors & free shipping. Now that I'm more experienced with the stuff, use it on nearly all of my builds.
  14. I'm glad you clarified this! Not reading the text at first glance, you can see where I'm going here...? Never had the "pleasure" of riding in one (front or back), but this build is very realistic.
  15. Very cool
  16. That is a sharp looking paint job. Nice choice
  17. Very impressed by the skills-simply amazing
  18. Gotta love the Block! You did this car justice
  19. Wow! Love the color-suits the car well.
  20. I'm thinking up some crazy builds if these are available?
  21. Good looking car
