A small update. Had a little bench time this morning waiting for the garage to warm up ( working on a 1/1 car ) so I taped it up and sprayed the white inserts in Tamiya Pure white . Then 2 coats Testors wet look clear.

I'm restoring a 1/1 1968 Charger RT for a good friend of mine. And on his visit yesterday to ck out the car . He gave me this. 100% completely untouched original in a near mint box and a flawless decal sheet. I asked how much I owed him all I got is ' its yours ' Its nice to have good friends to watch out for me at flea markets.

Making the hood fit would be the easy part. I still think cutting the tail panel to fit wouldn't be all that difficult. then replace the DODGE with photo etch. My MPC 69 R/T is a drop top or I would consider doing one myself .

Drop the tires and wheel in a bowl of hot water for about 5 minutes they'll pop right off I do it all the time with old annuals tires / wheels

ps, I've seen resin parts to convert the Monogram Bee kit to an RT. But nothing for the MPC kit to go the other way

If hes like me, I avoid 1.24th scale stuff,,,just looks weird next to the rest in my case. I've thought about trying to take the tail light panel out of the Monogram kit and cut it down to fit the MPC body. then use photo etched to put the DODGE lettering back in place. I've never done it though but I think its possible. ...... I have a 69 RT kit,,but its WAAAAAAAY down my to do list.

I think I've got at least 10 now of Lindberg Color Me Gone Dodge kits . Actually I have at least 4 or 5 of EACH of the Lindberg 1964 Dodge or Plymouth kits. Just last week I bought 4 of the Polar Lights Candies + Hughes Cuda funnycars at Ollies,,,,, For $8 each I couldn't pass them up as parts kits

Keep the info coming. I just picked up 2 builder 1961 Vette kits this past weekend . Both have a damaged windshield frame . But between the 2 and my spare sock it to me corvette kit I can fix one of them. Once I know i can make a complete 61 ,,,,, I'll probably off the 2nd one . The worst one has some pretty heavy glue marks in the drivers side cove. My sole purpose is to replicate Big John Mazmanians 1961 Vette gasser

I just did a quick side by side by side comparison between the 61 NY a 1959 Edsel Corsair and a Johan 1970 Plymouth Superbird. all marked as 1/25th scale . Side by side they look right next to each other. No single car looks out of proportion to any of the other 2 In the 1/1 world is as ' 61 New Yorker - wheelbase 126" and an overall length of 219.8" 59 Edsel - wheel base of 120" - overall 218.9" Superbird wheelbase is 115.8" , overall 221" If I put the 3 kits side by side in the order they should be next to each other. They are right. The NY is MAYBE an 1/8" longer ( if that ) in OAL compared to the Edsel , And yet the Bird is over half a nose longer. so maybe 3/8" longer in OAL compared to the NY body Bill , I understand your picky about details and I highly commend you to do as you wish. But I agree with Steve on this one. I don't see correcting nearly 5 scale inches disparity in any one location without cutting the hole kit in dozens of pieces to correct the overall body proportions. AND have it look correct next to any other same scale kit . I'm not saying to make said corrections is beyond MY skills ( ok it probably is ) ,,but its most definitely beyond my patience or interests to do so . If I spend that kind of time on one single kit,,, I loose interest REAL fast.

I just measured the wheelbase on this kit. Looks like 4.825" How do you translate that to 1/1 ?

shoot a semi wet coat. ,,,wait a few minutes ,,basically just enough to let the paint flash off and not absorb the next coats,,,, then a couple short light bursts from a pretty good distance away so its nearly dry when it hits the subject at hand . but the base coat is still wet enough that these short bursts stick to it yet dry enough that it doesn't allow the paint to level out ( your basically trying to intentionally produce over spray ) Might take a few tests on scrap plastics first to get it down with timing

Not to be harsh,,,but is there that much of a difference in the color of the seats compared to the door panels? On the 1/1 they should be nearly a dead on match
