I think a Munsters Coach is going to the top of my to do pile here very soon . Then I need to find Grandpas Dragula kit to do shortly after.

I thought about using a Johan 71 body to cut up (ive got several ) , but you would still need the fender gills. I picked up an original MPC Stardust cuda funnycar , and they body on it is so much more accurate than the revell 70 is, I was planning to just use this body with all revell 70 innards . But recently picked up an original MPC 71 Builder. They're not that hard to find. And by the time you figure buying a revell 70 and the pieces of a 71 , it makes the original mpc kits are the more reasonable. I think I'm in my mpc builtup for under $50 . The stardust body came in a parts junkyard I bought several years ago

Good deal fellas. Bought mine at least 20 years ago. And am so glad i finally pulled the trigger to build it. Its in my case next to the Lincoln Futura. Pontiac Club De Mer and the Fireball 500. Along with my daughters Batmobile build . makes for a pretty cool display. Im looking for Dodge Thundercharger to go with them

Agreed, I think it would have been cleaner had the lower skirt continued with the lower lines of the running boards. But other than that I REALLY like it .

I think it was fireball models that was planning to do the sheet for this car . I know it was somebody on this board maybe 2 or 3 years ago For the 66 GTO's I cheated and bought the diecast set of 2 cars

Is the routing of the oil line correct where it enters the block ,,,,,,is this maybe an aftermarket aluminum Hemi block thing ? On a steel 426 street Hemi ( race hemi as well ) it enters the block on top right behind where the intake seals to the block ( picture in you mind where the dist is on a chevy engine to give you some idea ) There is a gauge screwed into the passage in this pic to give you an idea what Im referring to here

Thanks Mark, Ive not seen or had any of these other kits . So it had me wondering if this one the only one out there. I have a couple of them and thinking I may try my hand at resin casting this one ( its looks fairly easy to copy for a 1st timer )

While the garage warms up ( 26 degrees here this morning ) I decide to get a little work done on the Superbird build. Added a prewired dist from MAD. routed and wired in the correct firing wiring order btw . Also took a staple and bent and glued in place to replicate one of the spark plug wire routing brackets .,,then touched it with orange paint. Then made and added an engine oil dipstick , the loop only on the handle will be touched up with engine color as the tube stays natural steel . Also added / routed the pcv hose and the hose that will eventually go to the power brake booster once its glued in the chassis . The carbs themselves I'm not real happy with ,,but once the air cleaner is glued on they cant be seen anyway so they'll stay as is . Wheels are painted with Testors silver, then the center caps were painted with flat steel to show some contrast between the 2. Also drilled and added valve stems to the wheels . Tires are the lettered parts pack F60-15 tires and the wheels are from the Revell 1970 Cuda. Also painted and did the flocking on the bottom of the hood to replicate the molded hood pad that was on this car . Its done for the day,,,out to the garage I go Thanks for looking ,,and any comments good,,,, or bad are welcome

Snake, If u need an engine out of this let me know. I didnt use mine , I just put a piece of flat stryene under the chrome blower doodad stuff to fill the hole ,,,and painted it flat black ( cant see it once assembled anyway. ) I also have one or two of the kit tires left if u need them

Mark, Typically I don't throw anything away that's model related. But at some point I have to start thinking of the size of the pile here ,,,,,and moving them is going to be a chore as it is . As it turns out the wheels are wrong for my needs anyway . So I'll just resell it as a whole or trade material for the ones I need

Well this sucks. Ive already been in touch with the seller and have come to the conclusion I am pretty much sol. So the search resumes for a correct 58 Buick set . Anyone need a set of 58 Lincoln hubcaps

It might be worth mentioning, this kit is the only kit I am aware of that had the 64-65 Race Hemi cross ram air cleaner molded with it . Unfortunately it should be chrome like the 1/1 were ( but that's easily easily rectified ) Shown is one Ive done in bare metal foil as a quickie idea Ive yet to find this air cleaner in any other styrene kit to date. pictures shown to compare to a stock six pack or street hemi air cleaner. and one sitting on my 64 Dodge build
