  1. How about underhood tins for some early 70s Pro Stockers. Landys mid 70s Dart sport as an example
  2. A few more to add to the stash. Actually won 2 - 1964 Buick convertibles. 1st one has the box and the up top. I think the drivers door is cut to open it ( didnt realize that when I made my bid. ) 2nd one looks a little better . so once I have them both in hand I'll keep the best one and the up top and I'll sell or trade the other And finally also picked up a 65 Buick hardtop . I usually don't go after cars with a roof. But my parents had one that I learned to drive in ( back in the mid 70s ) ,,,this one was reasonable so I thought what the heck and grabbed it to. Someday It'll be gold with black interior to replicate my parents old car.
  3. Take a look at Tamiya TS41 Coral blue. Its a lacquer . this is top coated with Testors wet look clear with ZERO issues. Paint laid down nice enough for me I didn't have to polish anything.
  4. Any chance of some pics of it in raw unpainted resin. Any ideas how to replicate at least the drivers cockpit area so one could be done with clear glass. The black glass turns me off I assume there is no chassis so to speak. Wheels just mount of the sides of the body as pictured ? Been thinking about this all morning, but no way can I spend anymore till after the holidays ( ebay was brutal on my toy fund this weekend )
  5. I am going to have to think about this. I want one , But at $150 is going to make me think about it, maybe after the 1st of the year I assume there is no lettering for the sides or the nose included ? Anyone have any ideas or thought to replicate the lettering on the nose or the sides , I'm all ears.
  6. Cool. Hey there buddy Make me a couple......dozen. Lol. We need some.different kinds of vintage mirrors. All the old Amt kits have the same square generick mirrors in them
  7. Good idea, problem is coming up with a decent 1/25th scale 65 Mustang fastback. Other than the altered wheel base AMT kit, what else is avail ?
  8. Steve. There was a nos mpc coronet glass on ebay a day or so ago
  9. Never heard of him. but then I dont follow F1 or Indycar either. Before anyone yells at me, hear me out. I never followed either sport. Yet I know very well who Ayrton Senna , Emerson Fittipaldi or Nicki Lauda are,,,,, So its not like my head is in the sand either. Regardless I wish him well . Its takes guts to walk away at the pinnacle .
  10. Sweet build. especially the dash work I just did one of these myself. My only beef was where it once had a vinyl top,,and the remains of the mldgs were a bear to remove - clean up . And the side emblems are real faint making them near impossible to foil after paint And although its not up to today's standards . I liked it. But then I like these simpler kits myself. I don't do contests so chassis detail really means nothing to me . This one is typical of most of my stuff today. Basic black and if I can see them ,,, I'll detail paint the exhaust tips and gas tank
  11. Build what YOU want and pay no attention to the naysayers. Life is too short to worry about others opinions. Model on.
  12. Ive already started to limit my purchases on current release subjects. The Hobby Lobby $39.95 pricing on the Lawman kit did me in. I decided to really scrutinize my modeling budget a couple years ago and concentrate on older annuals. And thus rarely buy a modern tool kit the past few years. That said, my want list was pretty long ( everything automotive produced in plastic between 1958 and 1963 ,,,convertibles only if it was produced back then ,,, ( no trucks , boats or planes )) and given my wanted subject matter,,,,,,they are not cheap in most cases. But I've just about filled my want list. So purchases have dwindled dramatically the past few months. But the prior 2 or 3 years,,,,was not cheap . In regards to modern tool stuff, Im both cheap and selective - example. I wanted a Sock It To me Vette to build. But couldn't justify the $25 price tag.( its the cheap part of me ) I got lucky and found 2 of them at Ollies for $8 ea. I bought them both. Just in case one was molded in metallic orange. ( It wasn't ) Already built one and will use the 2nd on for trade bait If I dont buy another kit ever I'm good. ,,,I already have more than I'll ever build in my remaining time here anyway
  13. Project ,,,heck no. I would maybe detail the trim and emblems and display it just as it is . Put a trailer hitch on it and maybe an old boat back there. Or send it to me and I'll do just that. I LIKE THAT ,,,,, This an ebay buy ? if so how did I miss it
  14. tom. Ck www.autocolorlibrary.com i use it all time
  15. Looks like a 1971 ? If its a 1970 ,,its probably just F8 There was a REALLY dark green on 1971 Chrysler fullsize cars called Avocado green. Code F9
  16. Had a little time yesterday and got the body taped up and painted the roof . Its rustoleum satin black. One decent wet coat , then subsequent mist coats from nearly 3 feet away to get texture. Added the seams to the roof with stripe stryene , and added the wide A pillar trim like on the 1.1 that will get covered with BMF
  17. Steve, Looks killer. But I hope you don't mind. BUT the colors are reversed. The darker portion of the dash is the pad / ribbed section. ...closest to the passenger. ps - did you use BMF for the silver areas or paint ?
  18. I hate to say it, but I could see a few of these old show rods built and in my case. I doubt it'll happen .but one never knows. either way I hope Round 2 sells a boat load of them . It helps finance stuff I will buy
  19. Shame, If it was I could change the primer or base color and replicate all 3 of the popular Mopars colors of the day. F3 - a really light green with a hint of silver to it F5 - a medium green - which is what the 1st picture shown of the barracuda body painted looks like and F8 a pretty dark green
  20. I could sure use that 68 Coronet body, I would trade you $$ and offer up a resin 68 body in the deal
  21. Cool, I just realized I have ALL of those 1959 annuals . I knew I had all the 58s. but didn't realize I had all the 59s as well. Cool ( breaks out into happy dance )
  22. Cool, I wonder if you could change the shade of green by using a darker primer under it ?
  23. Well, I got outbid on those....So I will look at other options. Steve, as far as removing them . MOST of the stuff I have in mind are kits where the hood doesn't open anyway. Remember I kind of loose interest after about 1962 or 63 . So its mostly late 50s and early 60s annuals builtups that I need the screws for anyway . Its not like I need a hundred of them ,,,,,,just maybe a dozen or 2 tops If I have anything later 60s,,,,,Its a Mopar B body and I plan to use the AMT chassis under them anyway so on them ,,,, they're not a problem.
  24. Being a Mopar guy this definitely has my interest. But alas, Ive never used it that I know of
