  1. With Ollies just having this kit on the shelves at $7.99 in just the past 3 or 4 months . Tells me its a SLOOOOOOW seller . I just cant imagine this one being any better. The secondary market is flooded with the 1st issues . and Like mentioned if its going to be $39.95 like the Lawman , these will stay on shelves. I think Ive got at least a half dozen of them myself IMO if Round 2 wants to get more mileage out of the tools, change the decals and do different cars of the period . Golden Commandos 64 Plymouth, Bobby Harrops 64 Dodge , Hayden Proffitts 64 Plymouth ( both versions ) just to name a few .
  2. Cool. Reminds me of a yellow one that i used to see in summer months around here
  3. Wow. Just plain WOW. I dont know what else you have planned for the rest of the year. But this ones going to be tough to top How did you make the front wheels posable ...?
  4. agreed. The pics i have it look plain red
  5. Way cool. Well done. Just wish we didnt have to buy 2 kits to uild this. Come on Butch Leal kit please.
  6. im thinking use pure white silicone . instead of rtv. Ive tried rtv in the past and had the same issue ...removing it was not going to happen with any chance of using it as a mold
  7. same here. In 1.25th scale the pattern looks great
  8. Just add Vodka, ,,,,ok maybe not till AFTER its assembled
  9. Yep. like mentioned . Heavily sanded on Johan 1960 Cadillac KIT. Far to straight to be an original promo. Depending on what kind of paints on it, I would start with brake fluid and see what they gets me. If that doesn't work I would advance to Wesley bleach white or Castol Super clean 1960 Johan Promos were still acetate ( as a fun fact Johan promos were acetate up to and including 1963s ) 1964 they were Stryene here is your typical view on a 1960 Promo ,,,of any particular promo
  10. Been trying to figure out the best source to gather up all the 1970 440 six barrel components I need. I think I have it figured out - Engine and auto transmission and most of the accessory items are from the AMT 1971 Charger (they have the correct 70-71 style valves covers) . Intake is the MPC 1971 Roadrunner. Air cleaner is a Johan piece I will modify the base to accept the sixpack . Carbs themselves from the AMT 1971 Duster. Yep, Its a hodgepodge of parts. The 8+3/4 rear axle is also going to be from the same 71 Charger kit . I'm trying to make this as accurate as I can to the 1/1 .
  11. Might want to take a look at the ones in the Polar Lights 65 Dodge
  12. Yea, now were talking. Rally green please. ,,,,,,,,or you can just send me that 68 Coronet kit instead.
  13. Interesting, Info. I never would have thought to use hot glue as a filler material Here is MY prime example of a small molding idea - I have a conversion coming close to the top of the pile. I want to convert a Johan 61 New Yorker kit I have with the roof cut off of it into a 1961 Chrysler 300 convertible. Using the Johan 1962 300 as a parts donor I want to pull a mold off the 62 300 kits side emblems and transfer them to my 61 body. Ive done the clay impression idea and IMO the emblem is to shallow to work with successfully. Now I can try using cheap kitchen foil, or BMF with the adhesive cleaned off. Then the clay to hold it in shape and just fill the backside of the foil with hot glue . Once the glue is set up, remove it from the clay and trim as required. then superglue it to the 61 body. Sure sounds like a good idea to me If it works , I may try to pull molds from the New Yorker emblems and transfer to them the 62 kit and make a New Yorker hardtop
  14. I like it. A LOT I have one I keep thinking I need to build. It was one of my favorite shows when I was much younger.
  15. No exchange necessary bro. You said your were looking for one. - I have about a half dozen of them. So I boxed one up . Its not unbuilt dead mint but I think its complete. Just so you know ,,,,, I blame you for my spending habits over the past 2 years or so . If you hadn't posted that beautiful 58 Ford, I wouldn't have started looking for all the old annuals like I have. Yep, its all your fault .
  16. Just need to detail a shifter and install, and the interior is done Original Johan tub , dash and seats. Added a strip of stryene across the top of the dash to simulate the dash pad. Hung a parts box auto pedal from the dash ( just cant hardly see it with the black carpeting) Console is from my parts box( I think its Revell 67 GTX ) filled the hole where the 4 spd shifter was so I can replicate a console auto like the 1/1 is . I tried to dry brush the dash gauges to bring them out a little,,,they filled the gauge with Testors clear
  17. So as to not muddy this thread any further,,,ck your PMs
  18. Edit, never mind . A quick google search yielded they were standard in 60-61, but were made optional in 62 as a short ram version http://www.chrysler300club.com/letterhistory/History.htm
  19. Looking good bro. But have to ask, are you sure the log rams were avail in 62 ? I thought they were 60 - 61 only. I think in 62 they went to the inline 2 fours. ( But I'll be honest Im a long way from an authority on early sixties 300s )
  20. Even my old metal axle annuals I add some white glue to the insides of the chassis to keep them from rolling as best I can. About the most I want is to allow just enough movement so all 4 tires to sit on the table.
  21. ckd my builtup....it has a hemi in it. Just no idea if original or not (i bought it bilt )
  22. Im gonna have to find this laser bond stuff Ive got some small emblems i want to make...and interior window cranks
  23. Without digging my builtup out to ck ,,,,. I think the Vanke 1972 Duster annual has both a small block and the hemi in it doesn't it ? Where as the Butch Leal car is Pro stock / hemi only ?
  24. Same here. Think I want to get into making small pieces , ( mirrors, door handles , emblems , arm rest pads etc ) This is just a thought. But I've repaired 1/1 plastic grilles by taking a baby food jar fill it about half way with scrap pieces of another grille and pour in acetone. Put the lid on and let it sit maybe 24 hours or so . It melts the plastic into this glue like substance and works perfectly for 1/1 grilles. And I keep thinking about trying it with stryene
