Small update, Got my front bench seat made,,using an extra rear seat and some sheet stryene. I did cut the side of it near where the hinge is on the 1/1 . So I could stand the back rest portion up a little, then added some round stock on the bottom to insure it stays upright . Paint is a satin acrylic from Micheal's. I'm not 100% convinced its dead on. But its close enough for my book. All the chrome accents on the interior is the chrome pen ( except the plated instrument cluster obviously ) Started on the bare metal foil process ( my least favorite job ) With the paint edge bleed issues I had on this one,. I ended up fixing them with a very small brush the best I could . Then cleared over the whole car . Held in your hand you can see my repairs, but even then it has to be at a certain angle . But at arms length, its looks perfect. I'm actually thinking it might turn out better then I expected.

Built this one maybe 20 years ago. My daughter used the Polar Lights kit to build her 1965 Ramchargers Dodge, It was her first kit and the only help I offered was help her line the decals up. Everything else was all her ( she was 13 at the time )

Sweet, and a nice pair. Although Ive built several of the 64 Dodge kits. None have been a Ramchargers car. Need to change that here soon. As I have both of these to do . I do have the 1970 Ramchargers Challenger funnycar done though.

Bare metal foil itself. Pretty much guaranteed no bleed under

Bartoletti Transporter and the Daytonas Coupe... Last Update 5/28

WOW,,,,, I just went thru this entire thread for the 1st time. IMPRESSIVE is an understatement . The truck is amazing and Im not even a cobra fan. Early on I looked at this picture, and thought wow, that sure is a short wheelbase truck!!!! Then later in the thread realized it has the one live rear axle and in this picture its the live axle with the dead axle in place. duh moment I guess . -
This is one area I have very little. There was a time I did lots of added detail to every car I built. Seats belts, Fuel lines, brake lines and cables. completely wired under hood. Now I have a shoe box of various misc aftermarket parts that rarely if ever gets opened anymore. I do have maybe 8 or 10 Resin bodies, but only because the subject isnt avail in any other medium ( a Utility truck bed as an example )

2 door to 4 door conversion

Your lucky, The roof line is the same between the 2 body styles . I thing the hardest part will be making new lines on the interior bucket If you keep your eyes out, a decent builders pop up on ebay on a regular basis . Or even a distressed promo would work . A 62 sedan is not impossible to find There is a decent blue 62 promo on there now I am high bidder on ,,, just for different reasons than yours -

Oh man, Glad you said something. I messed that up big time. Glad the clear wasn't on yet . Dug out my spare Fred Cady sheet and redid them . Thanks Tomorrow it gets cleared

Another one Ive been wanting to build for along long time. Plan is correct a few errors in the kit . Such as- the actual 2 door hardtop car had a a bench seat , so I am taking an extra rear seat from another kit and making my own . I'm going to try to make the Johan fender-well headers fit this kit ( that might be a feat in itself ) If not, I'll just use the kit supplied headers , And yes I managed to break the quarter window mldgs out , but those 'should ' be an easy fix . Colors are Duplicolor gloss white , then taped it up and did a light coat of Duplicolor gloss red and then one light coat of Mopars Prowler Orange lacquer. The red undercoat brings out the red in the top coat considerably. Once the decals are completely dry, I'll detail the emblems and clear it all to protect it .

I saw it in person on the table at the Buckeye Classic. I can honestly say pictures simply don't do it justice Impressive is a huge understatement

If I can make a suggestion. With what the model king 59 imperial kits cost today on the secondary market . It might be more cost effective / sales tool to just offer a complete kit. As opposed to paying ..lets say $75 (purely a guess / estimate on my part) Then add another $40- $60 for a Parts kit might turn some buyers away. Just thinking out loud on my part

If its an expensive promo, then no. A mint 69 GTX promo as an example . But for what your lookign at , do with it as you wish . To be honest you'll probably improve its value to some degree I want a nice builder Johan 1970 GTX and have come to the realization. Finding a distressed promo to RE-build it as I want will be considerably cheaper . Same thing goes for a clean MPC 1968 Coronet hardtop.

I like this one a lot. I just painted mine yesterday actually and had several areas with bleed under from the red in several places. Not sure how I'm going to proceed, if at all with this one.

no II have an Johan body where the entire roof is broken on it. I want to try an insert an amt convert windshield frame into it. And may try to modify the Amt interior to fit as well

Being a huge 69 GTX fan, I love it. (I've owned 2 ) And same here ,,never understood why this color combo want avail on the 1/1

AMT 1962 "Sock it to me" Corvette
gtx6970 replied to 62rebel's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
it builds into a really cool looking display piece. Mine was molded in white. and I painted it Testors Flaming Orange in an attempt to get close to the effect of the molded clear orange cars . I bought a couple of them at Ollies for cheap and decided to build one as a quick build slump buster ( it worked btw ) I used the stub axles on the front and the metal axle in the rear, but shortened the inner rear wheel hubs to bring the tires all the way in under the body. For a quickie, its turned into one of my best paint jobs ever and its one of my favorite builds in the case. -
sam here. Last time I ordered i think 5 packs I'm down to one still sealed.

Anyone know if the decals are avail to replicate this actual car

So far so good -
Wife and I rode up to Columbus Ohio for the Buckeye Classic. A good show. Looked like they had a killer turnout for the contest tables. We left around 12.30 and it looked like contest stuff was still coming in . I wasn't really looking for much of anything , just wanted to get out of the house for the day with my better half. I did manage to snag a few goodies. Picked up a sealed MPC 1971 Roadrunner , really clean builder 62 Impala convertible. a decent 64 Mercury park Lane convertible, a 1964 Valiant craftsman . and a few misc parts I thought I needed for some old annual. Overall really not a bad day I guess.
