Only speaking for A 1956 Chrysler 300 used a 331 Hemi A 1956 Desoto Adventure used a 341 Hemi If they're similar in outward appearance I cant say one way or the other. I'm not very well versed on the Mopar cars this old, so any other differences I would have to dig into further, ( a good friend of mine has a a 1955 300 and he knows these cars really well ) But my gut feeling is there are enough differences it would be basically be an all new tool. And Im ok with that ( I actually would prefer either a 57-59 model years myself ) Or if they really want to float my boat how about a 55 or 56 Imperial. -

No, that was a pre-production thing that never materialized in the 1/1 . All 1970 Coronet grilles are the same , a light non textured argent silver with black accents in the vertical grills -

I wouldn't mind having an original metal axle version. Ive got all 4 of the 68-69 Coronet variations here now. So I might as well look for a clean builder 70 annual . Ive got several of the repops from years ago. So I have no interest in another one of them ,,no matter how neat the box is I screwed up at a swap meet a few weeks back ,, a guy had an original issue builtup for $15 and I left it there. Oddly enough I regretted it as soon as I got on the freeway ( almost turned around and went back ,,,if the wife wasnt with me I would have ) -

I know the johan GTX grill fits the amt body with minimul effort. So I assume same goes for the johan 69 roadrunner grill . Can't answer about the harts resin grill. -

To get this tread back on topic. AMT for the 68 is a decent start and can be made to look pretty reasonable without a boatload of work . The Johan 69 isn't terrible to find.,,,and if your patient can be had in the $35-$45 range for a really nice builder ( maybe less if you get lucky) Expect to pay in the $50 - $75 range for an unbuilt kit depending on the color its molded in . ( white demands a few more bucks than the molded in color versions ). But just as an fyi, ALL the 69 re-issues have the 1970 Interior in them if that matters to you. Johan made the 70 and it has never been re-issued. Expect to pay in the $100 to $125 range for a decent complete builder and upwards of $250-350 ( maybe more ) for unbuilt. I got REALLY luck on mine , found it on ebay in some weird listing for under $50 about 5 or 6 years ago -

Ive got a couple of them . Not including the one in my builder kit. I am really thinking of trying my hand at resin casting. And I think this grill might be something I would like to try and get my feet wet with,, so to speak . -

Ron, If you have the Johan bird, You have everything you need EXCEPT, stock roadrunner hood, under hood air box , stock grille and front bumper. I'll ck but I might have a spare front bumper and MAYBE a grille . If I do, just say the word and they are yours . I'll need a couple days to get to modeling area and dig that one out to ck for spare parts What ever I don't have as spare ,,,,, I'll gladly loan you mine if you want to copy it in resin . IF you have that capability in house -

agreed with all the above. The johan 70 roadrunner will put a serious dent in the piggy bank. So will a 69 GTX if you decide on them as well. -

I'm hopefull it's due to back dating it to 71-72 specs. Just my opinion but I think it would sell better. -
It's actually a I believe Detroit city vehicle color. In 69 is when it was labeled Omaha orange thru Mopar A at least best in can remender that Friend of mine used to own a really low mileage example. Several years ago

Model Cars Magazine, The Future

my 2 cents. Me personally I like free. And to some degree for the forum to survive it must stay free, at least in some form BUT, I would have no problem with an annual subscription for paying subscriber / forum member benefits as mentioned earlier. That amount would have to be offset by the benefits gained on my end . Just for the sake of argument and to put a number on it . Lets say an annual paper subscription is $20 per year and a members only area here is $10 per year. I would GLADLY pay the $10. When it comes to paper magazines of any kind. I just browse thru it at the book store , if there's something I like and want to read at my leisure I'll buy the mag . If not it stays on the rack and I forget about it . Next month IF Im even at said bookstore / magazine rack. I'll peruse thru them again, the process repeats IF / WHEN when I get the chance . Its not a place I make a point to go to on any kind of regular basis -

I vote push the altered wheelbase 65 Plymouth to the front of the line But I thought there is or was supposed to be a Drag version of the Comet in the planning for this kit ? I'd like to see one of these myself -

Im pretty sure all the AMT repop issues have always had the C Stripe decals The original issue is the only one that had the pitchfork hood.
