  1. Then are people like myself. I actually avoid resin. Unless there is absolutely no other option. I'll use a 1965 Dodge Pickup as an example. Resin is the Only option if you want one. I'm regards to less say an 1968 Coronet hardtop. I look at total costs expense. By the time I buy a resin kit. And a parts kit needed to complete it. I can be in an original plastic kit for about the same money. Without the pitfalls associated working with resin (such as fitting glass )
  2. I agree....to a point. But seeing what a Johan 1969 GTX or MPC 1968 Coronet sells at . On a consistent basis. An accurate version of either of these should/would be a no brainer ....... IMO
  3. pm me an address. I'll dig them out and send them to you. Once your done with them via either with the build or make copies...send them back. Best I remember it was a pretty dark blue with Semi gloss grey interior and chassis .
  4. Good for you. I came to that conclusion just a couple years ago. My buying got EXTREMLY selective .
  5. These 2 over the weekend. Amt 1962 Buick convertible, I have a mint boxed one to build , but for $20 I couldn't pass this one up Also, from the same seller a pretty decent 1963 Mercury hardtop ( theres ZERO chance it will be rebuilt replica stock , I have a REALLY nice convertible builtup for that )
  6. Cool, I've got a bunch of pictures I took of this car when it Ed Skanes had it and semi local to me ( All are on print as it was pre digitial to me time wise )
  7. Change the front timing cover / water pump housing as well
  8. What kind of collection we talking about. Recent or old long of out production .?
  9. I looked thru the ebay listings nothing really catches my eye. And IMO are not the ones your father is known for. I don't remember the name of it but he built a steam tractor looking thing maybe a year or so ago. THAT is one I would most certainly be interested in
  10. IMO, They value it about half what you value it, then offer maybe .50 on the dollar . Ive done it once and will never do it again.
  11. The more I look at this one, The more I think I may do this one as well. Count me in for a set of decals. Just pm me with total costs with the others we talked about
  12. I have 2 cases very similar in size. 1st One my dad built for me has sliding glass doors. The 2nd one my in laws had made. Both are similar in size at about 3.5 to 4' wide and about 4.5 to 5' tall I also have a 3rd that is an old all glass curio case my wife bought many years ago. Im about to add glass shelving in the one my dad made to gain some space. Otherwise I need to think about where im going next. Wife laid down the law,,,no more cases
  13. 1.5" ID on the upper Rockauto doesn't show a listing for the lower but my guess would be maybe 1-9/16" ID
  14. Mail man dropped this one off today. Its a Johan 1969 GTX promo. Body, chrome and interior. Its got a damaged left front fender. But considering what a nice goes for ( I got one of them as well. ) This one was cheap. I plan to fix the fender ,then chop the roof off it and turn it in a convertible to replicate one of my old cars
  15. now this might interest me. ( I have no real interest in the 62 ) Especially i they do an aaccurate Big John Mazmanain car

  18. Not today, but in the past week. 1969 Mustang , 1970 Cougar , both looked like a mild pro touring style drivers ( both sounded wicked I might add ) Same day, In the mall parking lot near where my daughter works , a REALLY nice 61 or 62 T bird with the sports roadsters fairing on it and this car was NICE Yesterday was pretty decent looking bright yellow Karmin Ghia hardtop ( no idea what year it was )
  19. Those cheap aluminum cake pans at the dollar store might work as well. It'll be a lighter gauge than a pop can
  20. Nice one, I have a convertible to do one day. if I ever find stock tail light lenses
  21. Why not a Hemi AAR . I built a 1/1 scale version for a client a couple years ago . AND it has A/C
