  1. Not to rehash an old thread. But I have one of these in paint now. and was doing a google search for info and found this old post In an article I found last night where one of the cars was under going restoration. They stated the original base car they started with was blue, It was initially painted a candy red, but due to filming issues the car was repainted a bright red very early on
  2. to high compared to what ? they didnt have an in the weeds stance I built one and think its pretty close to the 1/1
  3. WOW,,,, Thats perfect. almost as if they were thinking if me many years agao. Ironic part is ,,,in the 1/1 world you use the repop ford horn ring to repair/ restore the often damaged Mopar versions
  4. 1970 Chevelle got me thinking. Ive got an AMT kit in the stash. so went looking for it and I think it might be close enough. Thanks all
  5. Anyone know of a kit containing a steering wheel even close to the one on the right ? Its the optional 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner / GTX rim blow wheel ,, It doesn't have to be 100% dead on, but close enough I can work with it.
  6. You know. The more i think about this . There's a small part of me that wishes 'THEY' would do just that. And I would dare bet I'm not the only one who thinks that. I mean to be honest even though there are a few subjects on my want/need list. ( ie - 1961 Plymouth Fury as an example ) and a few on my wish list. ( ie - new tool 1971 Demon and/or 1968 Coronet just to name 2 ) If 'THEY' would stop all production today I could live very happily with what I have and not think twice about it. ,,,,and my bank account could actually grow steadily instead of all the ups and downs .
  7. I assume nothing unless its stated in the listing.
  8. Door handles I could go one way or the other . BUT OEM correct outside mirrors would be a welcome sight. especially late 50s to early 60s . AND How about a sheet of nothing but under hood decals ( battery scripts , Oil filter lettering , rad hose markings etc ) To be honest I think a sheet of nothing but battery scripts for the old lead acid batteries would be nice
  9. Air cleaner And Yes, Bucket seats - column shift were avail
  10. Thanks guys. I got the body cleared with Testors wet look clear at the end of the week with no issues or reactions. Interior is stripped back to bare plastic. I'll put the white primer back on it in the morning. Then next week start over on it
  11. Lets see. my stash is probably knocking on the door of somewhere near 8-900 kits range ( unbuilts and builders combined ) If I average figuring at the max a full dozen a year ( not likely ) . Im 57 and provided I live to an even 100 ( again ,,,not likely ) Provided paints and glue supply's were still avail. And I don't sell or part with a single one, I just did the math,,,,,I wouldn't get thru half of them . So yes, I'll be just fine. But, My stash is about to get slimmed down to a much more realistic count over the next few months
  12. Mopat Nationals I bought one of the most expensive ones Ive ever bought. 1st one I remember buying came from Sids Drugstore , a little mom + pop place in Elsmere Ky a LOOOOOONG time ago.
  13. 12 buses and a 32 vehicle support staff. that had to be an amazing scene coming into towns back then
  14. More pictures please. This makes me want to drag one of my AMT kits to the front of the pile. I have an original annual convertible builtup and one of the older issue AMT hardtops ( molded in light blue ) I'll be honest I originally bought the hardtop kit to use as a parts kit on the annual. this picture is making me rethink that idea
  15. Yea, but its well established your not human. . As great as yours looks. If I can make mine it look half this good I will be ecstatic
  16. Wanna sell it ?
  17. How about black with that interior Edit. Maybe silver exterior? Friend of mine has a silver with blue interior 1969 Charger and it looks better than you might think.
  18. John. As much as i would like to add that little detail. I doubt I'll attempt it. I thougbt about trying it with a silver sharpie...but me thinks at least somewhere i would screw up and have to start it all over ...again. Not sure im up to that kind of pressure on myself
  19. i dont think that would be an all bad choice bro
  20. Cool, And using an MPC body at that . I like it
  21. Steve, the color is a Rustolem 2x color called gloss Coral. Bought it at home depot. Krylon also has one close called Coral Isle ,,got it at True Value hardware . The Rustolem has just a tad more red to it of the 2 when I did a spray the spoon test . Even at that to be honest I think it should have a little more red / orange to it to be a dead on match to Geranium . Maybe because its over a white primer. No matter,,,,,its painted and in the cabinet to dry now for a few weeks . I'll sand a few tiny little dirt specs out then clear it. The white is a duplicolor white I had here. Its a chrysler color with just a hint of a vanilla tint to it and not a refridgerator looking bright white I probably should have done a test over a darker primer base,,,mabye a red or even black base to darken it up just a smooch . But overall I am real happy with it and as long as I have no clear issues when the time comes ,,,,it'll stay as is . Regardless I like the color combo more than my 59 Edsel looks ,,,and I REALLLY like that one a lot.
  22. nice
  23. Sadly Chuck passed away last year . and to the best of my knowledge no one has picked up his decal line. Im sure Im not the only one who missed out .
