  1. Been trying to figure out the best source to gather up all the 1970 440 six barrel components I need. I think I have it figured out - Engine and auto transmission and most of the accessory items are from the AMT 1971 Charger (they have the correct 70-71 style valves covers) . Intake is the MPC 1971 Roadrunner. Air cleaner is a Johan piece I will modify the base to accept the sixpack . Carbs themselves from the AMT 1971 Duster. Yep, Its a hodgepodge of parts. The 8+3/4 rear axle is also going to be from the same 71 Charger kit . I'm trying to make this as accurate as I can to the 1/1 .
  2. Might want to take a look at the ones in the Polar Lights 65 Dodge
  3. Yea, now were talking. Rally green please. ,,,,,,,,or you can just send me that 68 Coronet kit instead.
  4. Interesting, Info. I never would have thought to use hot glue as a filler material Here is MY prime example of a small molding idea - I have a conversion coming close to the top of the pile. I want to convert a Johan 61 New Yorker kit I have with the roof cut off of it into a 1961 Chrysler 300 convertible. Using the Johan 1962 300 as a parts donor I want to pull a mold off the 62 300 kits side emblems and transfer them to my 61 body. Ive done the clay impression idea and IMO the emblem is to shallow to work with successfully. Now I can try using cheap kitchen foil, or BMF with the adhesive cleaned off. Then the clay to hold it in shape and just fill the backside of the foil with hot glue . Once the glue is set up, remove it from the clay and trim as required. then superglue it to the 61 body. Sure sounds like a good idea to me If it works , I may try to pull molds from the New Yorker emblems and transfer to them the 62 kit and make a New Yorker hardtop
  5. I like it. A LOT I have one I keep thinking I need to build. It was one of my favorite shows when I was much younger.
  6. No exchange necessary bro. You said your were looking for one. - I have about a half dozen of them. So I boxed one up . Its not unbuilt dead mint but I think its complete. Just so you know ,,,,, I blame you for my spending habits over the past 2 years or so . If you hadn't posted that beautiful 58 Ford, I wouldn't have started looking for all the old annuals like I have. Yep, its all your fault .
  7. Just need to detail a shifter and install, and the interior is done Original Johan tub , dash and seats. Added a strip of stryene across the top of the dash to simulate the dash pad. Hung a parts box auto pedal from the dash ( just cant hardly see it with the black carpeting) Console is from my parts box( I think its Revell 67 GTX ) filled the hole where the 4 spd shifter was so I can replicate a console auto like the 1/1 is . I tried to dry brush the dash gauges to bring them out a little,,,they filled the gauge with Testors clear
  8. So as to not muddy this thread any further,,,ck your PMs
  9. Edit, never mind . A quick google search yielded they were standard in 60-61, but were made optional in 62 as a short ram version http://www.chrysler300club.com/letterhistory/History.htm
  10. Looking good bro. But have to ask, are you sure the log rams were avail in 62 ? I thought they were 60 - 61 only. I think in 62 they went to the inline 2 fours. ( But I'll be honest Im a long way from an authority on early sixties 300s )
  11. Even my old metal axle annuals I add some white glue to the insides of the chassis to keep them from rolling as best I can. About the most I want is to allow just enough movement so all 4 tires to sit on the table.
  12. ckd my builtup....it has a hemi in it. Just no idea if original or not (i bought it bilt )
  13. Im gonna have to find this laser bond stuff Ive got some small emblems i want to make...and interior window cranks
  14. Without digging my builtup out to ck ,,,,. I think the Vanke 1972 Duster annual has both a small block and the hemi in it doesn't it ? Where as the Butch Leal car is Pro stock / hemi only ?
  15. Same here. Think I want to get into making small pieces , ( mirrors, door handles , emblems , arm rest pads etc ) This is just a thought. But I've repaired 1/1 plastic grilles by taking a baby food jar fill it about half way with scrap pieces of another grille and pour in acetone. Put the lid on and let it sit maybe 24 hours or so . It melts the plastic into this glue like substance and works perfectly for 1/1 grilles. And I keep thinking about trying it with stryene
  16. Agreed 1000%. Ive built 2 Thunderbolts and have decals for maybe 4 or 5 more. Something to replicate the back seat would be REALLLLLY nice to have . Someone was doing the white stripe for the door panels at one time ( never bought any though )
  17. Basically anything to replicate from late 50s to late sixties cloth seat inserts. PS, I ordered about 4 or 5 different ones from Scale Motorsports last nite.
  18. Anyone heard any news regarding this kit I want a case of them please
  19. I may stop in my LHS next week. Ill probably grab one. But want several of the afx version when it arrives instead
  20. That is so very cool. Ive got a few from many many years ago.....but nuttin that far back
  21. Is Scale Motorsports the only source for seat pattern decals ?
  22. Thanks all. This is a project that's been in the back of my mind since I first saw the 1/1 on the frame table at C Cook Enterprises in Erlanger Ky Now that I've seen it completed, Its getting stronger and stronger to replicate ( at least to 'some' degree ) Spent a little time this am looking at kits and wheels
  23. Thanks My only concern would be the area of the 41 body where the downward slope of the rear fender would need modified. Im not afraid of some scratch building...but a whole hand built rear body is beyond my desires. Im afraid if it becomes to much work. Ill never finish it. Ive known this car since it was just a basic body and chassis. But when i saw the original design concept drawing....i knew it was going to be something cool. And im not typically a street rod kind of builder.
  24. Looking for some ideas / sources for the pieces to replicate this car. I use to work for the shop that built this and Ive seen it since the beginning . Thinking it would be REALLY cool in 1/25th scale. So I'm looking for ideas / sources for the basics , A woody body . or at least the kits to cut up and make it if need be . Wheels and tires any ideas?
  25. Anyone have a picture of the contents of the Revell Foose 1967 Coronet kit....specifically the tires and wheels
