  1. Bought my most recent one at Hobby Lobby. using a 40% discount put it right in line with buying it online pricing if you include postage
  2. Dont look now..but your ignition coil is on backwards......sorry hqd to say it. While im at it. The valve.cover breather should be chrome
  3. same here. Ive got a few old annuals that would look killer with one of these in tow
  4. So far so good. Not exactly the easiest kit to build. I built one maybe 10 years ago and want to do another someday to replicate the very 1st incarnation of the truck .
  5. Buy a bunch of the plain white Promo boxes , wrap each and every one in toilet paper and one per box . Then pack them in lager packing boxes or crates. You can get the boxes from Uline or similar for about a $ 1 each
  6. Very Nice. I have an original MPC builtup in the pile. And I think you just gave me my color choice for when I get to it .
  7. Did this car end up being the stretched long nose car,. or were they 2 different cars?
  8. Had some paint mixed up this afternoon. For a 1960 Lincoln build.....called Maple Leaf
  9. agreed i buy for the contents ...not the box
  10. thanks, gotta get me one of these
  11. Stopped in the one in Florence KY, A LOT of lindberg police cars and military stuff ( not interested in any of them ) But I did snag 2 each of the 66 Olds 442's and the Sock It To Me Corvette. That was all they had of the 2 . None of the Kalitta mustangs to be found
  12. Sweet, I sure would like to find one ,as well as a 65 Fury convertible . But they always go for more then my budget will allow
  13. I get the opinions on the 68 RR kit. And I know its not perfect but its the only game in town for a 68. Do i wish it was better? sure but I'm not going to lose sleep over it either. IMO, it builds into a pretty decent example once in the case. But for me personally I'm a model builder not a model kit redesigner. And I might be way off base here,,,,,,,but sometimes I wonder if the suggest retail price these kits sold for when 1st produced was a factor with how much work they put into development time ( I have a bunch of them with a price tag of $4.99 ) I'm sure development time is a factor to think about from the very beginning when a kit is being designed considering a selling price once on the shelf . In regards to the Revell 67 Coronet / GTX kit. I saw a thread a while back showing how easy it was to fix with a very minimal slice in the rear quarter. Which I will do once I get to one in the stash As far as the Johan Super Bird kit mentioned. you are correct the nose should be smooth across the top side, but once decals are placed on it you really cant tell.
  14. Oh yes very nice. Is this the mpc car. When did it loose the 500 rear window?
  15. Im going to have to hit the local one here this weekend. I could use a few of the Kalitta mustangs, might even grab the sock it to me Vette and the couple of the 66 Cutlass just for grins
  16. Try Michaels http://www.michaels.com/search?q=display cases
  17. Thats because most of them were worn out , The wood grain was most definitely there when new but thin . I've had a few nos ( still have 1 actually )
  18. The shifter ball for 1969 4spd car Shifter itself, Non console 4 spd Shifter itself WITH a console 4 spd . On a console 4 spd car the only part you can see once installed is the round handle portion
  19. I know for a fact you could delete the stripe. Not sure about wheel well trim though. As far as a shifter.....try a straight pin with the round ball on the end to look more accurate shifter for a 69. Ps...it would be a woodgrain ball
  20. Just ckd, both wheel lip and rocker mouldings were standard equipment on a 1969 Coronet R/T . Thats not to say the restorer didn't like them ( or didn't have them ) and just decided to leave them off. http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/images/dealerships/DealershipDataBook/1969/69_Coronet0021.jpg
  21. The AO1 light pkg was optional. But am pretty sure wheel lip mouldings as well as rocker mldgs were standard on an R/T
  22. If the CMG charger is complete enough to build . Its probably worth somewhere in the $75 to MAYBE $100 range with the box. As long as its not a glue bomb. A few months back there was a mint unbuilt one that went for months listed for about $175 ,,no idea if it ever sold. Out of the vintage CMG cars,,,, it's the easier of the 3 to find and value reflects that. If the subject isnt to your liking it makes pretty good trade material. The one I have I picked up at a swap meet maybe 10 years ago, and if memory serves me right I paid less than $40 for mine. It had been started and is missing a piece of the interior tins ( still need it btw ) Otherwise it was all there in the box ( long since sold the box for darn near what I paid for the kit ). Back then the kit was just a little bit tougher to find than it is now. If it was the 68 Color Me Gone charger,,,, we would be talking . A decent builder 63 Fury is probably worth about $30
  23. Build it, I started with a kit very similar to what you describe. And I have no regrets .
  24. Holy smokes. I love it, even though its not a subject i usually give much attention to . But WOW..... Now I want one
