I use one of these exclusively for BMF work. Just the weight of the tool is all it needs. and like mentioned . It gets a new blade every time I start any BMF work . Main reason I like it , its retractable. And I have a couple of them as well as a couple regular #11 blade knives

I like it and $30 was a good buy. And if the convertibles are everywhere ,,,I'll take another 1,,,,,or 2 or 3. I have an unbuilt 1960 convertible in the box and I keep looking for a builder that's clean but all I find are ones with all the goofy custom stuff glued all over it. Regardless its probably going to be a while before I even think about starting it ,,,but I bought it to build not collect dust . so someday. My 59 kit was also a near mint in the box kit ( its not anymore )

Started the bare metal foil work. Inserts are painted with Magnesium buffing metallizer. I wanted something darker than plain silver or steel color. The color looks like a washed out black on my monitor ,,,but the isn't as dark in person as these pics makes it out to be . But this is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

A small update. Had a little bench time this morning waiting for the garage to warm up ( working on a 1/1 car ) so I taped it up and sprayed the white inserts in Tamiya Pure white . Then 2 coats Testors wet look clear.

1967-68 Barracuda Interior glass
gtx6970 replied to JPolli's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Well, sorry to report. I don't have any spares, actually don't have enough glass for the few builder kits I do have -
I'm restoring a 1/1 1968 Charger RT for a good friend of mine. And on his visit yesterday to ck out the car . He gave me this. 100% completely untouched original in a near mint box and a flawless decal sheet. I asked how much I owed him all I got is ' its yours ' Its nice to have good friends to watch out for me at flea markets.

Let me ck this weekend. I may have an extra glass. You need windshield - back glass or both ? -
I like it. I just picked up 2 of these over the weekend still sealed ........ Might have to pull one out and get it painted for a winter time build

If hes like me, I avoid 1.24th scale stuff,,,just looks weird next to the rest in my case. I've thought about trying to take the tail light panel out of the Monogram kit and cut it down to fit the MPC body. then use photo etched to put the DODGE lettering back in place. I've never done it though but I think its possible. ...... I have a 69 RT kit,,but its WAAAAAAAY down my to do list.

Nice....especially the color combination. Ive been looking for a clean 63 convertible for myself
-
Agreed. Its not that important to me if its not 100% dead on perfect scale to a 1/1 .

this type photo ccomparison works only if the subject is the exact same distance away from the lens. Taking into scale differences obviously
