Won this one off ebay over the weekend. Hopefully when it arrives its a nice as it looked in the listing pics. Body unpainted, all emblems intact . Interior painted but actually looked decent as is . Probably just clean it up and put it in the case for later down the road Original 1963 Mercury S55 convertible. I can find 64s but seems the 63 is a tad tougher to come up with. and This one completes my want list for the Mercury convertible builders . Now have them all 1959 to 63 . I thought about keep going to get newer model years but I simply have to stop somewhere or I will run out of space sooner than later.

wrong. Its based in the revell 68 -69 charger kits. Looks like a new body....definitly all new interior

And for the record. I have a couple unbuilt 71s so I may not buy one of them IF it gets reissued. I would much prefer a 72 I heard a while back the tool was damaged and there for no chance it was coming back out

same bumper, different grille, tail lights and side markers. Overall same car. And yes, less compression but also a different way horsepower was factored. so in all honesty they were not far off from the previous year

Coffee stir sticks , or toothpicks in a pinch if its to be airbrushed. I'll use the same AND shake them if its to be brushed on

Ive got that car ,,,and I would loan them to a reputable caster to copy if they want. But want them back asap. I wouldn't want them gone for more than a few weeks tops

hate to say it,,but told ya so The real car was avail with a thin white pinstripe tires,,, and with the all green looks so much better than the redlines or white letters Love it bro

With the old annuals stash I have. A lot of them needs this or that ( mostly stock wheel covers ) So I am always looking over there lists. I'll buy from Floyd426 ,,,,,,,A LOT. As he is local to me and I can run up and grab my purchases as time allows . He's been doing it a while and he told me he can usually double his money as opposed to selling off the kit as a whole. Its extremely rare he buys a single individual kit,,,he prefers to buy whole collections and parts them out. When I was there last maybe mid August he had bought like 30-35 cars in one hit earlier this past summer ( Bought them off Ebay ) Nothing produced after about 1970 ,,,, in fact most of them were late 50s to early 60s annuals . And no I've never parted out a kit. Usually isnt worth my time. But I have no problem with any of the ones who do.

Its a mixture of Testors white lightening with a little silver mixed in then dabbed on with a fine brush. Then Elmers clear glue over top of that . They're not perfect but much better than 'chrome ' Thanks all. Its probably one of my favorite builds. I absolutely love the color. Indoors the color is nice and you can barely tell its a metallic its so fine ,,,but outside in the sun it just pops.

Last ones This 1st picture probably best shows the true colors All the emblems were done but foiling THEN paint. Worked SO much better this time around. Once it was done I went over all the emblems as well as the emblems in the grille and tail light panel with a yellow sharpie to get the gold tone to them

Well, its done off the work bench and in my display case. Its an original AMT annual kit I picked up sometime last year and have wanted to build since that day. Color is supposed to be Maple Leaf , kind of a plum colored real fine metallic reddish purple. In person its more red than these pics show so its not a dead on match,, but close enough for me. Interior was air brushed in a color I mixed using testors enamels . I tried Alclad for the 1st time on the wheel covers, mirror and hood ornament and found out its real sensitive to touch . So someday I may have them replated,,,,someday. Tires are the modern AMT parts pack version to give me a cleaner whitewall and get rid of the rock hard originals. I am my own worst critic and know its far from perfect , but perfection is not my goal. Its for my case only and not a contest table. But I really REALLY like how this one turned out , especially with my color choices. Comments good or bad more than welcome. Thanks for looking in

Thanks all. I painted over them with a mixture of pearl and just a little silver mixed in. Then did the clear Elmers glue trick over that. They look much better. Not perfect mind you . But enough I can live with them on my shelf. The car in question is nearing completion soon

I use the cheap primer brand,,,, and have had no issues on any kit builds new or antique .I'll have to ck the brand

Interior is almost finished. I have to fix a broken steering wheel then paint detail it before I can call it done. Color is something I mixed up combining a couple different testors wood or tans enamels to get closer to my target color choice, then airbrushed. Dash was painted with alclad then the tan I mixed. (not 100% happy with it,,,but its close enough in my book. Also used some dark tan embossing powder to get the carpet look. Thanks for looking in

Not a W300 but some day I'll get to this one. Its the RMR resin cab. which is just a W100 My plan is to modify a Little Red express fame and suspension to fit. I've heard someone else will be making the W300 trucks in the near future. If so I'll use the Ford ramp hauler as the base for it

Pizz poor way to run a business , makes no difference if its part time or not and I don't care if hes moving next door or across country. If you cant fill the order in a timely fashion ,,,don't take the order

Well, I managed some bench time over the weekend. Got the paint polished out. (I LOVE this color btw ) Got all the BMF work done,,,which was not an easy task as those wheel lip mouldings are hair thin. Then went over the emblems with a yellow sharpie. Got all the wheels and tires mocked up. I'm using the AMT parts pack wide whites instead of those rock hard originals. All that's left are a few small details on the interior and spray and detail the chassis . But for now I just had to dry assemble it for a picture . With no issues ,,,,,I should have it wrapped up and under glass by the weekend .

Thanks. Must not have gotten the black base shiney enough. I tried buffing it.....didnt work. I painted several items and they all have a good shine but the one piece Ive already went over it BMF . so all is good

Watching this one. I will be making a cross country move here in a few short years. And I have a few ideas how to pack them up. But keeping nearly 150 nice built kits safe is going to be a challenge for me. I'm thinking toilet paper and each car packed in a promo box then all packed in a much larger box and they travel with me. The un-builts I''ll let the movers handle
