  1. Hmmmmm, that copper isn't to bad. Might be a candidate. ( I also have a 59 Lincoln as well,,,,but that one will be much later) Cant find either a 59 or a 60 in Rose Glow
  2. yes. One 0f the Uhaul trailers...molded in purple. I have a couple..so do t really have a plan for this one if u need it
  3. The Lindberg kits body is actually pretty accurate, and with a little work builds into a nice shelf piece. Its just the wrong year for my needs / interests.
  4. Yep, Original MPC 1970 Challenger annual. In the auction also included a few pics of a 71 Challenger ( expensive and tough to find with a good body on it ) As a general rule a 70 will sell in the $50 range, a clean 71 , can easily double that. I'm in it all for about $80 delivered. Needless to say I was a happy camper to open the box and find both kits were pretty decent AND complete.
  5. Mail man dropped these off this afternoon. 2 very clean builtup Challengers. A complete - uncut UN-altered 70 and a clean 71 ( its had the funky rear spoiler glued to it so the deck lid will need some work. Paid less for the 2 than either one usually sells for and I got the trailer (unbuilt) and the decent 70 box SCORE !!!!!!
  6. i would like to see one in rose.glow and /or copper. When I first started thinking on tbis one...i was thinking black with tan interior But at the moment. Maple.leaf is my leader.......I'm just undecided for interior color. This is a convertible zo interior will make or break a color.
  7. The light pink is unique. the front ( looks like a russet red of some sorts ) not so much Anyone know what the name of this is ? It has a plum look to it that might look pretty neat in scale
  8. Same here ,,,, I wheel and deal in cars. so my daily can change at a moments notice. I'm working on a 2005 PT Cruiser as a resell piece now actually For right now I have my old standby 1998 Ram 2500, V10 auto 4wd. I like the truck and it will pull most anything ,,,,,but its a gas guzzler. I'll also drive my daughters 2004 Neon or my wifes 05 Town and Country minivan. The days of making cars payments are over for me . If I cant pay cash for it,,,I don't want it
  9. Fellas, I am looking for some suggestions / ideas. I'm really undecided on color combinations for this one. I have a 1960 Lincoln convertible build calling my name Really really loud . Body is near perfect , chrome is already redone . So I want to jump on in and get the body in paint this summer before winter hits ( when I do most of my actual building due to to down time) I've googled for some info as to what color was avail with a specific color interior unique to a 60 Lincoln . And a few cars pop up on my search all the time, a black car with red interior and a black car with tan interior ,,,which looks killer on this car. Problem is I'm not 100% sure I want another black car ( especially with red interior) build on the shelf . Black with black interior is out of the question. Not real fond of the greens avail on this particular car so its doubtful they will be in the running. Red seems so over used ,blue is a maybe but I have a few blue cars in the case now. A white car looks too plain on this body. any suggestions ? pictures would be great of each suggestion
  10. Not that I'm aware of . But if you come up with something ,,,,I would take at least a half dozen sets for myself
  11. And for the record, I don't consider myself 'cheap' I actually prefer the term selective frugal..... case in point as follows . About 2 years ago started with a list of kits desired ,, which started off as just the 1959 Annuals,,,but that quickly got updated to kits produced between 1958 and 1962 ( some I really wanted ,,,, Johan 1959 Plymouth for example ,,others were only if I can get a good deal ,,,,, Johan 1960 Cadillac for example,, ) My list contained approx 40 kits ----- give or take a few ,,,and I now have about 90% of them marked off my list. And I think I've spent something close to 2k to fill said list. Most were in the price range I've seen them sell at . A few I got a screaming deal on,,,a couple others I may have over paid ,,slightly but not much. But all in all think I've done fairly well. And yes my wife knows of them all. She learned a long long time ago to trust my judgement on how much I pay for something. Now I just need to get my but in gear and work on them .
  12. Ive only done this method a couple times . I'll be honest ,,,,,I think it works the best if you are using an airbrush to spray the body ( its thinner coats ) . I did it on a couple cars after spraying with a rattle can and and IMO the emblem gets paint buildup around the said emblem thus making it harder to highlight the now buried foil lettering
  13. Paid $500 for a factory sealed 1968 Color Me Gone Charger funnycar Came to my senses a few years later and sold it......for the same $500. But the past years I've been on a buying spree...and have bought a bunch of old annuals buitlups.....most were in the. $50 -75 range...but I do have a few go over $100
  14. Pretty bold prediction . But I certainly hope they all come true
  15. So my only option for a 1/25th scale 1957 is the issue laden Revell kit ? I already have a 55 for myself so I knew what its like. I think the 56 is a discontinued piece, same for the Revell kit ? which means the secondary market for both If so I will let him know
  16. Ok, I've been asked if I can / would I do a Nomad series of kits for a friend of mine. Primarily the tri 5 cars - 55 to 57 years preferred ( I cant think of any other produced in stryene ) I know of some later model year wagons but no other Nomads,,,or are there ? What's currently avail, I have an AMT 55,,,,and I see there is a 56. Is the multi-piece opening door revell kit the only option for a 57 - they must all be 1/25th scale or he's not interested. I did an Ebay search for Nomads and it came back with all kinds of hit's,,,but I'm not positive which ones are readily avail
  17. Hands down my favorite of of the Del Rio builds I've seen so far. On my soon to happen build,,,I was going to go all black ,,,but now I hope you don't mind but I may steal this exact color scheme
  18. REALLLY like this one, especially the color combo
  19. Agreed To my eye the roof is to bubbled to much in the center compared to the 1/1 and to the original MPC issue. And it sure hasn't hurt the value of the original annuals. Decent originals will easily pull $30 if its nice and uncut ( sometimes more ) , you can almost double that for the 1972 model year version. I think I have two or three of the 71's but only one 72 and maybe 1 or 2 of the 73-74 versions ( none are for sale btw ) And for the record I think the current 55 - 56 Chrysler 300 kits are pretty darn close to dead on the 1/1 ( IMO )
  20. Any updates. I was just thinking about this one the other day
  21. And quite spendy IF you can find one
  22. Same kit, just different box art I assume ?
