  1. Is the intake manifold the one in the kit ? Reason I ask is its way to high up the valve covers on both sides
  2. Ditto, I really like the color choice
  3. The 62 Fury convertible kit is probably the easiest of the Johan kits to find,,,build it. I've got one I had begun many years ago in plans to build Jane Hathaway car from the Beverly Hillbilly's
  4. If you go to Speed City Resins website, they list several different suppliers for the AFX car decals I think Slixx only has the Landy and the Sox - Martin cars
  5. Agreed, My wife is only 5' tall. and getting a safe distance from the airbags has always been a challenge when car buying. We have a 2005 Chrysler T+C with adjustable pedals. and its a god send in a perfect world you want to be approx 12 to 18 inches away from the airbag ,,,preferably the 18"
  6. Having been a dealer tech for nearly 25 years. I've seen and heard it all. Some people complain that the manufacturer should fix anything and everything if they've heard more than 2 people with the same complain. Yet some complain when the OEM DOES fix it . Its a double edge sword, darn if they do and darn of they don't. And btw,,,,,,With ANY recall, you do not have to take it in to fix it, that's entirely your decision. . Harry, this isn't targeted towards you so please dont take it as such ,,,its just the one that sent me over the edge. And just a bit of advise to any driver, avoid driving with your arm across the air bags path ( ie - left arm crossing over to the right side) be it straight ahead or if making a turn. Airbags are designed to stop your bodies forward momentum , And it doesn't care if your arm , your chest or your head is in the way.
  7. Sorry, darn a manufacture has found a defect and is doing the right thing,,,,,,fix it for free . And all people do is bash it. At least there fixing it,,,so sorry you think you have to go in twice, ( you don't btw ,,,,your more then welcome to wait till they get all the parts and just make one trip) I get so tired of the whole dealer / manufacturer bashing .
  8. Do a googe search for its a mad mad mad mad world. There was a red 1962 Plymouth used in it
  9. I applaud there efforts, but nothing there sparks my fancy
  10. Cool. I have all 3 years of Edsel kits ( all convertibles ) both my 59 and 60 are unbuilt. but my 58 is an unpainted builder. I keep wanting to build them but cant decide on color combinations for any of the 3
  11. Very Very cool
  12. Excellent work so far. I keep thinking I need to build one of these
  13. Did a trade with Vince aka - vintagedragcrazy Its all great on my end as well
  14. Anyone know of a source to obtain the decals for this car . I have about all the parts gathered up,,,but so far cant find the decals anywhere
  15. Yes, I have a mint sealed inside Barry Setzer Vega funnycar with will remain that way as long as I own it. And I have ZERO intention of selling it in my lifetime. I bought it factory sealed strictly for sentimental reasons ( its one of the kits I remember building when it was new , many many years ago) I opened in when it arrived just to ck the contents were intact and mint ,,,but that's as far as its going to go . I have several builtups and one built and in the case. And with it being its one of my all time favorite drag cars. It seemed only right I needed one . Actually I have a few kits that will never get built ( same reason as above ) A sealed inside Soapy Sales challenger , one of the re-issue Badman Chevys and one of the re-issue McLaren Can Am cars ( the 1/20th scale version.) All were kits I remember having way back when and wanted them ,,just so I can say 'I had these back when new' . I have builders or another unbuilt to build of them all when the time is right or the mood strikes me its time. I am casually on the lookout to get a mint unbuilt Charlie Allen Dart kit for the same reason. ( already have a really nice buitup of it )
  16. Hmmmmm, that copper isn't to bad. Might be a candidate. ( I also have a 59 Lincoln as well,,,,but that one will be much later) Cant find either a 59 or a 60 in Rose Glow
  17. yes. One 0f the Uhaul trailers...molded in purple. I have a couple..so do t really have a plan for this one if u need it
  18. The Lindberg kits body is actually pretty accurate, and with a little work builds into a nice shelf piece. Its just the wrong year for my needs / interests.
  19. Yep, Original MPC 1970 Challenger annual. In the auction also included a few pics of a 71 Challenger ( expensive and tough to find with a good body on it ) As a general rule a 70 will sell in the $50 range, a clean 71 , can easily double that. I'm in it all for about $80 delivered. Needless to say I was a happy camper to open the box and find both kits were pretty decent AND complete.
  20. Mail man dropped these off this afternoon. 2 very clean builtup Challengers. A complete - uncut UN-altered 70 and a clean 71 ( its had the funky rear spoiler glued to it so the deck lid will need some work. Paid less for the 2 than either one usually sells for and I got the trailer (unbuilt) and the decent 70 box SCORE !!!!!!
  21. i would like to see one in rose.glow and /or copper. When I first started thinking on tbis one...i was thinking black with tan interior But at the moment. Maple.leaf is my leader.......I'm just undecided for interior color. This is a convertible zo interior will make or break a color.
  22. The light pink is unique. the front ( looks like a russet red of some sorts ) not so much Anyone know what the name of this is ? It has a plum look to it that might look pretty neat in scale
  23. Same here ,,,, I wheel and deal in cars. so my daily can change at a moments notice. I'm working on a 2005 PT Cruiser as a resell piece now actually For right now I have my old standby 1998 Ram 2500, V10 auto 4wd. I like the truck and it will pull most anything ,,,,,but its a gas guzzler. I'll also drive my daughters 2004 Neon or my wifes 05 Town and Country minivan. The days of making cars payments are over for me . If I cant pay cash for it,,,I don't want it
  24. Fellas, I am looking for some suggestions / ideas. I'm really undecided on color combinations for this one. I have a 1960 Lincoln convertible build calling my name Really really loud . Body is near perfect , chrome is already redone . So I want to jump on in and get the body in paint this summer before winter hits ( when I do most of my actual building due to to down time) I've googled for some info as to what color was avail with a specific color interior unique to a 60 Lincoln . And a few cars pop up on my search all the time, a black car with red interior and a black car with tan interior ,,,which looks killer on this car. Problem is I'm not 100% sure I want another black car ( especially with red interior) build on the shelf . Black with black interior is out of the question. Not real fond of the greens avail on this particular car so its doubtful they will be in the running. Red seems so over used ,blue is a maybe but I have a few blue cars in the case now. A white car looks too plain on this body. any suggestions ? pictures would be great of each suggestion
  25. Not that I'm aware of . But if you come up with something ,,,,I would take at least a half dozen sets for myself
