Doesn't really matter. Once the console is in, it covers the hump anyway . UNLESS if your building a non console car ,,,,,, thats a different story

All 1964 Hemi light weights had bucket seats MOST of them were just a plain old Belvedere. I've heard rumors of a Fury Hemi car ,,but never seen proof its exists then or now. I bought this kit from Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon . To be honest expecting a full decal sheet to do the red/bronze color on the car. I was really disappointed and am REEEEEEALY glad I didnt pay full price . Nothing on the instructions to assist as to what color to spray the car to resemble the original car to match the lettering like on the 1/1 . Then I saw the hood scoops, and wonder why tool up new scoops only to get them so wrong ( and they ARE NOT the same scoops thats in any other version of the 1964 Lindberg Dodge / Plymouth lineup,,,at least none of the kits I have ,,,and I have a bunch of these kits in the stash )

Best thing is try to gather as much info on the car your trying replicate...then copy that particular at that particular time

The issue to me is being told it shipped ....even go so far as to provide a tracking # .....when be knew it hadn't. I dont care the issue.....imo thats a problem

No funky skirts ever on it or weird stuff , Just a decent rattle can paint job that actually shows fairly well. Plan is just clean / polish it up, do some BMF work over the painted trim and put it in the case till maybe someday later. This one gives me all the Mercury verts from 1959 thru 1962,

Its easier than it sounds. A lite coat or 2 to get color coverage. A 3rd coat on real wet......let that air out a bit then a real light dust coat or 2 sprayed from maybe 2 ft away. I did a 3rd one like this a few years ago....but its white and my camera will not focus in on it closeup. But the end result was the same as the black one above

Another one to add to the stash for another day AMT 1962 Mercury convertible builtup.

Now, my 2nd attempt . And trying to improve on the looks of my 1st one. This is an original MPC 1970 Charger to replicate a good friends car. I added stripes of thin stryene to the drip rail and forward edge of the vent opening and and a cleaner job around the base of the top . Strips of stryene were added to replicate the seams in the top . Then using plain old rattle can testors flat black ( simply rubbed it out with my finger ) from various distances to give it some texture ,,,IMO I think it looks more realistic .

Here are 2 examples using 2 different methods. 1st, AMT 1969 GTX , This was my 1st ever attempt at adding a vinyl top ,,,,, and this car was built AT LEAST 20 years ago,,maybe closer to 25. I used the masking tape method. IMO if you go this route, add strip stryene to the drip rail and the forward edge of the vent glass opening to give it a more defined edge along the roof. ( obviously not done on this car ) No signs of lifting anywhere. and its just plain old masking tape painted green ( replica of my old car )

You can always do it as a painted top...

I don't envy you that's for sure . Dont be surprised IF a dealer makes an offer your looking at under $5 per kit ,,,maybe less. Gonna have to think about all the kits I have and ( god forbid its later than sooner ) my family would have to deal with at some point . My gut is my wife would keep the builtups and sell off the unbuilt ones,,,think I might just ask her over dinner tonite.

I think only bench seat interiors had tje 2 tone in like colors. Bucket seat interiors had the option of white vinyl portions (seats and door panels ) with a 2nd contrasting interior color to compliment the exterior color

Just as an FYI, technically the upper mldg of the grille should be attached to the leading edge of the hood and NOT remain on the grille as shown here . But at the time I did this car I didnt realize that . Plus if u do that there's no support for the top of the photo etch grille
