  1. These I've bought as is ,,,some as many as 10-12 years ago. a few just in the past couple of years. Some are real nice, others are decent but I cant bring myself to take them apart to restore them . So most likely I'll build my own someday and display them together,,,, someday.
  2. A few more from my case. All of these I built myself most have been around a while.
  3. Agreed, but I would care to wager most of those same people don't care it even exists or could afford it if it did . Besides,,,,,The vast majority of these types of builds are nothing more than a styling exercise to show they CAN do it .
  4. Its a PPG base color that requires a clear top coat . I have I think I have most of a gallon can of PPG enamel reducer , is that ok to use ? I told the guy that mixed it I was using Upol urethane as a clear cote and he didn't say not to use it . weather permitting I would like to paint this body this weekend
  5. I'll applaud this kind of effort any body - any day. There is a TON of time on a CNC machine to fabricate all that BUT, IMO, the car is dead ugly. Plus they show the car, and they show the engine. but I don't see any thing to show that engine is in that car.
  6. WOW. But have to ask , is the reason stuff like this is done in brass is due to having to solder the pieces together ,,,,. As opposed to just doing it in aluminum same as the full size piece. ?
  7. I just picked up an original art series of this kit this weekend. Sorry for not having pictures of the body and hood, its on the stand now in primer. other wise here is whats in the kit . It does have the green glass and some funky clear looking headlight lenses for the customer stuff I guess. No side glass of any kind
  8. Here is a model king issue i built last year.....i have an original issue soapy sales car and they sure look like the exact same kit to me.
  9. I just picked up one yesterday. I can snap off a few pictures later today
  10. I built the recent model king issue . and it doesn't have a coil spring suspension
  11. Mine is in a big flat box, and its molded in white. I wasn't aware there were multiple versions of this kit released. Had it been molded in this aqua color you mention , I probably wouldn't have bought it
  12. I picked up some paint today. Guy said to thin it to spray I need to use a reducer ( color is a base / clear urethane based ) Do I need any special kind of reducer or thinner ? I already have some regular enamel reducer here,,is it ok to use ?
  13. Oh my, that right there is drop dead gorgeous. I think this may be the color when I re-do my 61 Imperial builtup
  14. I stopped in my LHS this morning looking for something else. ( thus didn't have it ) But I did walk out with one of these under my arms. The 65-66 Gran Prixs are one of my favorite ponchos from the era . So I had just had to have one. On my way home with i,,,, I stopped by one of the local auto parts stores looking for some duplicolor paint for another build. And ended up having him custom mix the paint for the Grand Prix instead. So this one will go to the front of the line. he worked with me to get the finest metallic he had. Its called Iris Mist poly. a very light purple metallic. Once done it will look exactly like this one .
  15. ? Its the exact same kit....just different decals and box art
  16. This one has been on the stalled list WAAAAAAY to long . And its getting extremely close to the next in line spot. Its been in this exact same condition , for something like 15 years or so. Original issue Johan 1970 Roadrunner . Going to be a replica of my old car. Black 1970 - Road Runner, 440 six barrel 4 spd. Mine was a black bench seat interior so I am planning to modify the revell interior to fit this body
  17. The DOHC hemi isnt in either of them
  18. Is it in the stock 1970 Bee.? For some reason I'm thinking it may be in the pro street version only
  19. If you need better pictures of the up top or measurements,,,, just ask. Steve, I haven't fully decided just yet. But if it goes away,,,you'll be the first to know . The 61 Impala is my favorite early Chev. and I keep thinking I may build a few different ones, a hardtop as Dyno Dons drag car. a sedan as Dave Stickler drag a car. And 2 verts - one top up and one top down. I actually have the body for the Dyno Don car in primer now
  20. Picked up another one. This is my 2nd 1961 Impala convertible built up. my other one I'm not sure will strip clean . Near mint shape, nothing ever painted , no goofy add on custom stuff,,, even included the uptop ( not sure I'll use it though ) An absolute pristine original box and the original parts were included.
  21. Just a shelf, that's easy. I'm to the point of needing another display case. I keep thinking about adding glass shelves in one of the cases to make do for the time being,,,as I don't really have room for another big display case like one of these
  22. I wonder what it would take to correct the side trim line ? Cut it out of the body , straighten it and re-install it in another body . either way, I like this one a lot . the black and light gold really work very well together
