OUTSTANDING !!!!!! Love the color combo . now I want one for myself.

just as an FYI, the air cleaner is for crossram Hemi only . Which obviously the Fury was never avail with . I have a few sets of the fender well headers but none are chrome . They might be something I need later on down the road

i had thought about doing just that...but the glass doesnt sit perfectly flat/flush all the way around. So my fear is the front or rear section will not sit flat and not allow the center to go back in and look good/right.

same view on the actual car

What ya think, glue the glass on , or leave it loose to see the interior ? So far I think it looks pretty good ( maybe not 100% accurate but close enough for my case ). Interior is almost done. I need to come up with some round decals to replica what I think is the speedometer and a compass on top of the instrument panel. Then a dab of clear Elmers glue to top them off.

Revell 1969 Camaro Grille Interchange
gtx6970 replied to 1972coronet's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
As far as I know all the Revell 1969 Camaro kits are all the same basic kit with drivetrain , hood and wheel changes -
Looks outstanding. Hopefully you don't mind, but Hemi Darts never had power brakes. Otherwise it looks dead on an as delivered LO23

Steve, old buddy. any chance I can talk you out of the oval air cleaner and the chrome fender well headers off that tree

I sure hope so. I for one would like to see decals to do the Jim Hagen car, the Steve Bagwell car , The Dick Housey car, or maybe even the Arlen Vanke car. And many more I cant think of right now -

Now that I think about it,,,,,,,I seem to remember that someone was / is / or used to do decals for the Steve Bagwell car ? Its Blue and white , almost the exact same layout as the Butch Leal car Cady did do a Golden Command car, but technically its for the 64 car.( aka #6 ) and I think he did a sheet for the 65 AFX car. There 65 superstock decals were vastly different than any of there other cars. Not to mention it was a hardtop . -
Well, I did it. Its Tamiya pure white base, Testors white lightning top coat with Testors wet look clear to finish it off. I took multiple pictures both indoors and out , with and without a flash ( flash just drowns the picture ) and I cant get the pearl effect to show up at all , trust me,,its there. Interior is also painted, Testors aluminum for the seats and door inserts and flat black for the rest. I'll detail the steering column / wheel and instrument panel this week while the body gasses out . Then do a light rubbing out of the body before starting assembly.

Priming under vinyl dye?
gtx6970 replied to JollySipper's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Vinyl dyes are hot, designed as such to penetrate vinyl and will most likely attack bare stryene. -
I like it, looks good so far I did one many years ago. And I think from time to time I need to do another one.

I think you are correct, All black with white lettering ( or was it silver lettering ) . The car went thru a few changes over the course of couple seasons ( like many of them did back then ) -
Where do you get supplies?
gtx6970 replied to Eloveless's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
99% of mine comes from my local hobby shop ( I have 2 within 15 minutes away ) , then Micheals, then Hobby Lobby About the only thing I've ordered online was bare metal foil , and that came straight from them -

MPC Soapy Sales Challenger Funny car ......
gtx6970 replied to Mr mopar's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Simple answer, Its not . Body is all wrong to the actual car, especially the roof line . The windshield was raked back pretty good compared to stock,,,as well as the leading edge of the roof was a good bit lower than stock. I think the chassis is reasonably accurate to the 1/1 ,,but probably not 100% dead on -

My understanding is its a superstock Hemi auto car. Sedan obviously , stock wheelbase with correct A990 interior I'll just holdoff buying any of the newly released sedan and get a bunch of these instead -

I've used Future on 3 different builds. All older buildups trying to bring back some shine to them. I wasn't impressed and will not be using it for that again. I do plan on trying it to dip clear windshields in a see if it makes them any better. clearer .

And I thought the train layout in Chattanooga TN. was impressive, Or the one at the Museum Center in Cincinnati OH. ,,,,,,,This is just plain unreal. . I cant imagine how many man hours are in it to build let alone upkeep for it . -
MPC Soapy Sales Challenger Funny car ......
gtx6970 replied to Mr mopar's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The thing with these old funny car kits. I bet more than 3/4's of the racers back then the chassis was black. This is one example I have no problem with most of the parts molded in black ( that's how the original issue was ). The important parts ( the body and interior tins ) are molded in white. I'm SO glad to have this one back on the shelf ,,,especially now that it has the decals to do the decklid . I already have quite a few of the MK issues, and plan to get maybe a case of these here soon . -
I plan to be there. Not putting anything in for the contest though I'll be there fairly early, but not staying all day . I'll be gone by noon I'll be wearing my A+M Hightech Automotive shirt, bright red with white lettering . If you see me,,,say hey .
