welcome along for the ride. I retired last year , And have dove right back in the model building again and really enjoying it I can sit ( and usually do ) sit at the work bench for hours on end -
Nope, other than decals and plug wires its all the pieces in the Hemi dart kit Keep in mind, The Rear suspension is exclusive to the Hemi dart version

Thanks, I found that same exact diecast listing

Im aware of the SS/A hemi cars. I already have that one built Im working on the less known SS/EA 440 auto car . Bob Lambeck was primary driver
-
Anyone know for sure engine color on this particular car. Instructions says Chrysler red( orange ) A 1968 440 or 383 GTS Darts engine would be turquoise in color
-
Nope. Making my own Its a Kit I body I cut the roof off of. Used the MPC 1968 Body as a guide . Molded sunvisors are from Revell Dart kit. 1968 kit on right my 1970 on left Got the resin RT stuff from harts parts ....I think. It's been a while so not 100% sure

A good friend of mine owns an original LO23 car campaigned out of Sabina OH back in the day The Kessler Brothers car But it would require far more paint skills than Im capable of or a one off set of custom decals be made
-
Here is a video of the actual car. Probably one of my top ten favorite drag cars from the period These LO23 cars made GREAT race cars. I have a few more decals / kits to build Next up is the Dick Landy SS/EA car ,,,OR I might move on to the Demented dart . Or the Charle Allen SS/EA car ???? decisions decisions
-
I cant answer that, Ive had these dist kits for quite a while . still have maybe 3 or 4 left
-
Thanks, But Im a long ways off

A slight snafu ( dropped it this morning ) I think I better call this one done and walk away . Basically box stock with exception to the MAD pre wired dist and Slixx decals Paint is Tamiya Metallic blue with duplicolor semi gloss black interior, Engine is a True Value rattlecan Pumpkin orange to give the looks of Race Hemi Orange My decals ae getting old and they had some cracking issues So its not flawless . BUT, I can live with it Imo. These cars make GREAT looking race cars

Where is Chad with R2 February news?

See there, We are total opposites. I'll TYPICALLY , just buy kits of vintage American cars, And MOST of them are either Round 2 or Revell Although I do have maybe half dozen or so 20-30s era classic big touring cars IMO Its a good thing we all dont like the same thing. It would get boring I like looking at some of the Imported cars/kits. But deep down zero interest to tie up space in the display for them -
Well, I gues sthe cat is out of the bag , so to speak. Its The Larry Griffith 1968 SS / A Hemi dart Got the body painted yesterday . Decals today ( THAT was fun . ) My Slixx decals are starting to get old, And Even though I put a clear topcoat of these before working with them . I still had cracking issues I had a MAD pre wired dist, so decided to use it . Might still add fuel lines . Maybe

Im not a street rod guy by any means, BUT, Having used to work in a shop that built high end cars. I can fully appreciate the effort, time and money that goes into these kinds of builds. It takes a team from start to finish and an owner that's committed to bring it to fruition . I used to work for Clay Cook whom built this one https://www.hotrod.com/features/award-winning-1937-ford-woodie-long-way-beach/ In person these cars are phenomenal and like any cars done at this level it would take days to understand and take in all the little details it takes to compete at that level -
