  1. Concentrate on getting healthy. Everything else is secondary,,,,,including toy cars
  2. does the Johan 68 Fury police car have these hubcaps in it ?
  3. My problem is. Other than lettering all these cars look alike. Are they all using the same chassis and bodywork?
  4. My problem is. Other than lettering all these cars look alike. Are they all using the same chassis and bodywork?
  5. I'm in. I just bought a decent looking built-up of the same car....paid more than that for mine though
  6. Very nice. I've always liked these cars. The funky headlights had me when I saw Roadhouse
  7. Correct All 426 based engines the dist was pass side of the engine as shown, ALL first gen engines the dist was in the back ,,like a chevy engine
  8. So far so good. and just a bit of info. The mufflers and the pipes leading out to the tips on a T/A were flat black . head pipes were steel and the tips were chrome
  9. Steve. Very nice. This has me looking for a 58 Buick as well. This will be the 1st replica stock build I've done in several years. Any recommendations on how to do the Pontiac lettering on the hood and decklid
  10. Very nice, I had an opportunity to sit in a real SLR about 15 years ago ,,its not an easy car for a bigger person to get into . But not half bad once your in
  11. Cool, thanks for the quick reply. I thought I had an original issue builtup around here somewhere , found it and sure enough it was missing its rear bumper. Thanks again
  12. Its an original AMT kit . Found it on Ebay . I was actually looking for a 1959 builtup.. I saw how clean and complete it was and had to have it . Doesn't look like anything was ever painted or any of the custom pieces glued to it . I have a minor repair to do to the pass side vent wing frame ,,but plan is full steam ahead on it . And I am really leaning towards the black with red coves . Did a google search this morning and was originally thinking white with red coves and red and white int. But when I came across the picture of one in black that was all it took . By chance anyone know of a source for the lettering to do the Pontiac and Bonneville scripts. I have a feeling these are going to vanish under even the lightest of paint coats. They can be photoetch or decals I looked at the photoetched set for the 60 Trumpeter kit and I have my doubts they will work
  13. Postman droppd of an ebay impulse purchase. Original AMT 1958 Pontiac Bonneville convertible builtup. Hard to believe this thing is older than I am( not by much ) . It doesnt look like anything has ever been painted This will not be going in a box for a future build project. I've been wanting to get back to the model bench for over a year ,,and this is the one to do it .
  14. While lunch is heating up. I did a quick dry assemble ,,just to see how the stance and I think its perfect
  15. The mail man just dropped this off this morning. Its not going in a box for a 'someday' project. The workbench has been cleared and this goes directly to the ft of the line. I was actually doing an Ebay search for a 1959 when I stumbled on it. And decided I had to have it. Besides it'll look good next to my 58 Imperial build. Its a curbside kit so there is no engine and chassis detail will be minimul . Plan right now is,,,, black exterior with red and white int . Just have to decide to do the quarter panel coves in white, red or leave it all black Opinions please .
  16. Found this is my parts box and have no idea what it fits,,other than something 1967 any ideas
  17. Late 60's or early 70s Dodge D300 preferably a crew cab
  18. Looks great. Very well done. Antenna and headligt covers a nice touch
  19. Ones posted are incorrect for a 1968
  20. Salt flat cars are not my thing,,but this is just to cool well done
  21. Al, This is the only pic of the 1/1 that I have on this pc. Interior is the the original. All I added were power window switches like the the 1/1 and did flocking for carpet, best I can remember, the rest is original MPC . The top boot and maybe the steering wheel is from the GTX kit. The original chassis was trashed so I think the one I used is from AMT 69 Charger 500 as I wanted to retain the original metal axle look. also shown is his 67 Coronet RT vert,, also a factory air car .. I plan to replicate it as well someday
  22. I collect promos and have seen them from virtually no warp to almost un-reconizable they are warped so bad Seems most of the GM stuff 1960 and up is ok, prior to that they are hit or miss. Mopar stuff 1963 and earlier tended to be warped , 1964 and later = no worries
  23. I guess patiance really is a virtue. I started this about 10 years ago, give or take. I was searching for something else at my desk when I stumbled on it. I knew I had it,,I just hadn't thought about it in quite some time. So,,,,, I decided to see if I could actually finish it ,,,like today. It started out as a hardtop. But the roof was so bad where a previous owner glue bombed the glass in I ended up cutting it off and added the vert windshield frame from an AMT 1969 GTX kit. It's not a perfect match,, But I'll live with it as is. I glued the interior tub and chasss into it this morning. added some details ,like mirrors and a shifter this afternoon . I decided to glue the hood down and just make it a curbside,,,maybe someday I'll add the underhood stuff. And this is what I got . Its intended to be a replica of a good friends 1/1 car. Which is Blue ext and blue / white interior . 440 , auto factory air car . So if you have some stalled projects,,,,,,there is hope. They may actually get finished someday. I know if sure felt good to put it in the display case done. Comments welcome and thanks for looking
