  1. I've seen some builds on here done in under 24 hours that look outstanding,, some,,,not so much Everyone builds at there own pace ( I am NOT on a time clock thankfully) Good thing,,,,,,I have builds well in the ten year range and still not done If your happy with it,, Call it good and move onto the next one .
  2. saw this last week . and decided to take a chance that it was decent and in fact plastic. I already have a resin one around here somewhere and am not happy with it gives me 3 orginal johan buildups
  3. Candies - Hughes Cuda is all Polar Lights . Its the exact same kit as the dis-continued Mazmanian and Stardust Cuda ( except for decals obviously )
  4. How on earth do the keep something like this cool ?
  5. I kinda like the artwork boxes ,,. Its what drew me to models in the beginning and still does
  6. This might be of interest. I sprayed the interior tins on this with duplicolor chrome paint. right over duplicolor primer grey. It gave me the look I was after
  7. Sounds like the one Wendell Sowers made...
  8. I 'think ' either 1964 or maybe 1965. prior to that they were either white walls or black walls. 1967 is the 1st year ,,1969 was the last year for redlines ( on Mopars ) I am pretty sure the only vehicle to get the gold lines were Corvettes ( dont hold me to that though as GM stuff is not my area )
  9. Sorry but this info is wrong . All Challennger TA's had power disc brakes. All power disc brake cars in 1970 the booster, master cylinder , bale wire and ck valve is painted as an assembly in a cheap gloss black paint. No exceptions Any other make or model I cant say as to how they were painted,,,but On mopars 1970 and prior they were black.,,trust me . 1971 is a different story , then it becomes a question of booster supplier ( be it Midland Ross or Bendix )
  10. Last year for the Blue Streaks was 1966 . At least on Mopars,,any other makes I have no idea
  11. my daily driver is a 2000 Dakota quad cab. I bought it to fix and resell ,,,and if it dosen't t sell in a reasonable time frame . I'll make this my daily driver. 1995 Contour se, 2.5 v6 and a 5spd . Car is a blast to drive
  12. Rub the tins with your finger . see if the oils in your skin will give it some sheen
  13. Do I see Nelson Carters Superchief on that list ? Pic is to small to be certain ,,,,but it sure looks like it . edit, I blew the picture up,,,,and it sure is the Super Chief mini charger. If this materializes I'll do the happy dance . Carter had some outstanding looking cars
  14. Depends on the cars your interested in ( if you dont like the subject , you will get bored with it easily )
  15. I personally would love to see something produced where I could make a replica of my old car . I am not a ford guy but there is a small part of me that would like to have this car back. 1998 Contour SVT 200 hp 5 spd made this car a blast to drive.
  16. I had the same issue with a sheet for the Willie Borsch Charger about 2 years ago. I ended up getting another sheet from a member and it was fine. I wonder if it's from age,,,and wonder if the slixx sheets are drying out ( god I hope not,,,as I have a few dozen sheets in the stash for later projects ) I keep all my aftermkt decals in an old magnetic sleeve photo album so I tend to think they are are tight ,,,I guess time will tell .
  17. On Mopars. Manual trans applications the bellhsg is on the engine when it gets painted,,so will have some paint on the bell,,,the amount of paint varies from just a touch to fully covered with engine paint. All manual trans were bare cast iron All auto trans were bare cast aluminum from the bell hsg ( non removalbe like on some cars ) to the tail shaft . The auto trans pan is/was a natural steel color
  18. Appreciate all the feedback. Art, no offense ,,,,, But from what I've seen so far shopping / watching sale prices I can get a decent builder in the same price as a fresh resin kit.. And my original intention since I came up with this idea is to someday to have one of every mass produced kit on the shelf of the 1959 stryene kits. So there for resin will not work . I am not against using resin parts to repair said kits though. I have my eye on a couple kits on ebay now. But the toy fund will determine how rapidly this project procedes ,, so it's going to be a slow moving project as funds allow I know it's out of my year range,,,,,, but I thought it just looked cool and I made a last second attempt for it . But,,, I just won a builtup of a 1958 Pontiac Bonneville convertible last night . I thought it would look neat next to my 58 Imperial conv. Now,,if I can just get a decent deal on 58 Buick convertible http://www.ebay.com/itm/1958-Pontiac-Bonneville-convertible-kit-original-AMT-great-condition-/151549405095?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=6tZm7g2o%252FYQHQtAGZksPTbCJIRE%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
  19. Ok, I thought it had something,,,just wasnt sure what. And I dont have one to ck
  20. Whats avail. in 1/25th scale ? I see the Revell kit,, is it a multi piece body .? if so, any comments good or bad ? is the retractabe kit the only thing avail ? Any others avail in recent times ?
  21. Especilly like the people who absolutly have to talk you down,,no matter if its a $100 kit or a $5 kit. I learned long ago, If I want $5 out of it,,I price it at $10 . Then on the plus side some pay the $10 without question. A few years ago I was selling a bunch of $5 builers/builtups. When this girl maybe 8 or 9 walked up and wanted a kit I had but she only had $3 left. I gave her the kit on the promise that SHE had to build it . That little girl had a smile a mile wide when she walked away. And ,,,you gotta love the ones who feel the middle of the isle is the best place to start a group conversation with a dozen or so friends.
  22. Suprised no one has done a 1958 Chrysler 300 from the 57 kit or 1966 Satellite from the 67GTX kit
  23. Really nice,,, where did you get the hood scoop,,I want one
  24. You do know,,,,,Taking pics of the 1/1 in front of the garage doors isnt fair Ya gotta love a 62 Dodge,,,a face only a mother could love. One of my favorite cars . And you did it justice
  25. Glitches are what makes it fun ,,right ???? I really like the looks of this so far. Especially the color,,,,,. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya there is no shade differences. I ran into just that on a can of white from Duplicolor and it stalled a project till I figure out a way to make it look right. My problem is the body is already decaled and done so stripping it will be expensive and a last resort
