  1. the cheap stuff at my local auto parts store ,,,I think its Duplicolor
  2. Ths is my plan. Use the cover photo on the April 1970 Popular Hot Rodding as my basis,,,it's the ONLY picture I have of the car where the actual car and the kits hood scoop match. Ps, great find on the picture of it with a Shaker,,,thats a new one on me.
  3. That one is a clone, Real Bird, but not the actual S+M car ( I know who the owner is ) . Neither of the actual S+M cars I believe has been accounted for
  4. best I have been able to gather ,,,,,,Both cars were Hemi 4 spd , with white interior. My question is , with or without console ? As far as decals you can probably get most , if not everything from the Revell 67 GTX , I have Slixx sheet #1367 and it has the S+M decal for the wing. Just be carefull, every pic I have seen of the Bird has been silver lettering, most of the cars had gold lettering on the door and quarter. so keep that in mind when doing a decal purchase This one might work as well http://www.slixx.com/s1367.htm?id=2680 I have this picture as well saved
  5. I am curious how much better the glue kits look compared to the snap kit once completed and in the case . My daughter and I did one of the snap kits last year and are more than happy with it
  6. If your including drag cars variants. There was also a 1967 Color Me Gone Charger funnycar kit. It could only be built one way. It included an altered wheelbase charger funny car body that was molded in white. The chassis and components were molded in a light grey.
  7. Went thru a similar issue when stripping a Polar Lights 65 Dodge a year or so ago. It was about ready to drop the body in the trash and start over . Finally got the paint to loosen up after soaking in brake fluid for over a week , even then it took a brillo pad to get the paint to come off
  8. Would love to find a 68 Fury wagon kit
  9. I did some looking some ago about the same car. This is all I have
  10. Now that is a FED kit I might consider purchasing to actually build instead of using as a parts kit
  11. The Camaro ( sorry had to edit the picture )
  12. Not today but early last week I think,,,,and I have NO idea what year it was. But a very nice looking Porsche,,I think it was a 356 maybe early to mid 60's model year time frame a few weeks ago there was a bright pink late model camaro cruising along side me Just did a google images search ,,,,,, and the Porsche looked a lot like this one
  13. I don't think it really matters when it comes to a Mag. All the wires exit the body in one place
  14. take a 12" long piece of an old ( or new ) 2x4 . drill some 1/8" holes in the wide side of it 2 each along each side spaced about 3 or 4" apart, Take 2 old metal clothes hangers and bend them up the shape of a U. insert the ends of said hanger in the holes on the board. now bend the top edge of said hangers to to stick outwards. Voila,,instant paint stand to do bodies. not mine but something like this
  15. Ok, I want to get started on a couple of the 1970 Cuda Pro stock kits this winter. And I cant get past the grossly incorrect ft tires in the kit. Is there a source for an accuarte ft tire for the early 70's cars? Just looked on Speed City's site and they are closer but not quite 100% for want I want
  16. I like the looks and idea of the open chute pack. Canards wings not so much. IMO, the canard wings add to much width to the body. I think they look good on a Vega FC, ( it's a longer and narrower body ) on a Dart shell ,,not so much. BUT,, I say do it if YOU like them
  17. If you want an accurate 1970 Challenger ,,IMO, this is the only route to take. The Revell / Monogram kit is 1/24th and if you can live with the scale of it, it does build into a nice looking kit And the AMT 1/25th kit is just wrong
  18. Couldn't agree more. Well said
  19. I have the altered wheelbase 1965 Plymouth sedan. and I have the altered wheelbase hardtop from Speed City Resin.' The Speed City piece is light years ahead of the MCW body ( Speed City Resin body shown )
  20. Love it. exterior color combo looks nice,,,I have actually been looking more for these old 50's Johan promo for my own to do pile all because of your builds ( like i need that to get any bigger ) ( btw, don't look now but I think your rear bumper is loose )
  21. I think your dark sections are a tad to dark,,,otherwise so far so good. The interior colors of this build are the hardest part to do ,,,I built one and don't want to do another
  22. To me the roof looks like it needs to be extended towards the rear and down just a smidge. BUT, I'll be brutally honest if NOTHING gets changed I'll buy a half dozen of them . It looks that good to me. Is it safe to say the center cap lettering will be added in the final tool stage ?
  23. IMO, the top was originally a light tan, with maybe the interior and even lighter shade of tan. Dash was most definitly a tan or gold color. And in some pics the steering wheel looks black , some it looks tan
