  1. You mean I have to keep track of all this stuff ,, I am so doomed. When I do, I like the plastic bin drawers for smaller parts . The ones with maybe 12 to 45 clear drawers in them . For partial / or semi complete kits I use the larger standup drawer sets. The ones with 3 or so drawers in the them where you can get 3 or 4 kits in one drawer . Or I'll use one model kit box with multiple like partial kits in it.
  2. I have always prefered plastic to resin if I can get one for similar or even slightly more cash outlay I had been looking for 1961 Dodge and really prefered to get an original kit. But,,,,,The original kit kept selling for more than I was willing to spend . ( built or unbuilt ) Ended up finding a pretty good deal on a slightly distressed promo. I ended up using a Lindberg 64 Dodge chassis under it
  3. Just went thru this entire thread ,,,all I can say is,,,,,WOW
  4. Holy smokes, That is realy nice. I rememer seeing an fuelie Impala many years ago at a local Concors show and figured it had to be a pretty low production model. Same guy had a fuelie Chrysler and another big bodied fuel injected Gm that if I remember right I think was a Cadillac or maybe a Buick ??? Thats probably been over 15 years ago , haven't seen any of the bunch since
  5. nope, have zero interest in models of modern cars. I know there is a market for such,,,its just not my style
  6. Well,,,,,,,,,,I do need some inspiration to dig out my Revell 1959 Vette,
  7. I used the chassis from the AMT 1968 Roadrunner under an MPC 1970 Charger. fit like a glove Also did the same chasis under a Johan 1970 Superbird ,,its a long way from done so I cant comment from fit issues just yet. And i'm using the chassis from the AMT 1970 Challenger under an MPC 1970 Challenger.
  8. Very nice,,, One of my favorite cars to replicate . I have a the Comet on my short list to do . Although I keep leaning towards the white car version. Then I see one done like this and start to rethink my color choices
  9. I think it depends on which car you see. * untill this thread I didn't know there was more than one car back then . I've got these I found while doing my build. I really like the pic where the car is all out of sorts,,,,,and that left hand is still on the body and driving with just one hand ........ To me thats someone either crazy,,,,, or extremely confident in there driving ability ,,,or maybe a little bit of both.
  10. Are the seat pattern decals in this issue ?
  11. My guess, it will not bring a tenth of the that
  12. I will be finishing the family room in the basement . But I would really like to get some model bench time. If I do. I want to finish my Dodge Boys 1964 Dodge SS and my LA Hooker Charger funnycar. IF,,,,, I get those 2 done ( both are well over half done ) I want to finish the model I started to replicate my former 1970 Challenger 340 , I started this one probobaly close to ten years ago when I bought the actual car
  13. top pf my list woud be a 1960 or 1961 Chrysler 300 ,,preferably a convertible
  14. I bought a sealed Barrey Setzer Vega Funnycar several years ago, I cut the shrinkwrap along the bottom and opened it . leaving the top of the box protected . Good thing to,,,,the decal sheet had a tire burn on it and I happend to have a spare mint sheet . Still have it. Many years ago I bought a factory sealed 1970 Challenger kit . when I opened it in front of the guy I just bought it from . I thought he was going to have a heart attack right there
  15. John, Not knocking your build but if those are the carbs that come with said 340 sixpack, I would have dropped them in the trash. Ive never held one of the RG engines in my hands but from what I've seen over the years I doubt I ever will
  16. I've got one of these,,no complaints. But I don't use an airbrush much. I needed one to do some 1/1 car parts . and it worked out great . I think I got mine on sale for less than $20 so I felt I had nothing to lose
  17. and the 1971 style wing, sometimes called the gullwing . Much flatter and more swept back on the ends compared to the earlier style. Like mentioned the wing , regardless of style or year was only avail in black , no exceptions
  18. 1970 style wing .I think there are well documented examples of this style being OE installed on early built 1971 models
  19. What about the go wing? The Go wing was optional and was ONLY avail in black regardless of year or application What is this twister pkg? Basically an appearence pkg, for non high performace based cars.I think it was 1971 only or maybe 1972 ? Why do I see paint daub restored cars in the mopar rags and on the internet with body color scoops and in one case a body color go wing? Because they are wrong I read the wing was an option in 70/71 but 2 different styles. Correct,, 1970 wing is different than the1971-72 Wing.
  20. I bought the kit many years ago ( no idea which issue it was ) . I started it and got bored with it so it sat , painted in the box for well over ten years. A couple years ago stumbled on to it while looking for something else . So I decided to drag it out and finish it. Is the most accurate kit out there? no. Is it my favorite build,? No. But I don't think a drag car model collection is complete without one. He made THAT much of an impact on the industry. I put him right up there with Ronnie Sox and Bill Jenkins.
  21. On a 1970 or 71 Duster 340, no scoops of any kind. And they were avail on cars without hood blackout ,meaning the hood AND the scoops were body color
  22. Definitly in my top 5 favorite builds on here -. I really,,,,,, really like it . And I like your build interests. I've got maybe a dozen or so cars from the early 30's and older to build....... someday I will get to them
  23. Looks REAL good . I've got one ( only one , like a fool I traded off my spares ) in the stash and plans are to build it exactly like this one,,,,,,,3 way black .
  24. Ditto, I've built a few for others ( all for free ) and have been asked about building for hire. But when I give some idea of a quote, the discussion usually ends right there. I have always buit for me , some better than others but I don't do any to impress someone else. If I am happy with it thats all that matters
  25. Or this one
