  1. If you dont find anything . ..let me know. I have 3 of the comets and none will be built replica stock. I will be cutting the hood out of all 3 ,,,,,at some point,,,just wasnt even thinking about doing it anytime soon . If you cant find one I might be convinced to go ahead and cut one out
  2. Agreed. You would be suprised how may I've fixed just by spinning tires around. Especially using old tires from the stash.
  3. Does any know if these are avail in any kit,,,or reproduced in resin. I would like to have maybe 3 or 4 sets
  4. Someone was / is making the hood scoops. I've seen them recently. Just cant remember who or where
  5. Thats the rubber seal between the fender and the nose..only way to fix it is weld or lead it up. Even then chances of someone doing that to a real Hemi Dayyona is unlikely. These cars were already back on the uprise in values by the late 70s. . For the most part these cars became almost instant collectibles in no time.
  6. That T bird and maybe the Riv is pretty cool. the rest not so sure
  7. Great,,another KY builder isa good thing welcome aboard ,,hope you got a comfy chair to sit in.
  8. Yes, the chassis leaves a little to be desired if your after a true replica ,,but it builds up nice and I think its flat hood or hemi scoop only ( Its been some time since I've looked at the kit though,,,, ) you can modify the Revell Dart chassis to fit with some work I have one in the works ,,,,but its been like this for nearly 10 years
  9. cool subject. I'm not a show car builder type. But I do have a few of these kits on hand ,,, and do plan to replicate a few of these cars from back then someday . I've always liked the Starbird cars over just about anything Roth did . The sixtes was sure was wild time for the customizers . And it sure would be cool to know which ones survived,,and which ones didnt
  10. Bought them at Decals by Lucas a couple years ago...just now getting around to actually using them
  11. This was my first idea,,and may work well enough for me. It doesnt have to be perfect just have the look. Also thought about spraying them in a black base coat, then while its still wet spray them in a gold, then red . then take a brush and lightly drag it thru it while its all still wet . Once its all done and dry I can always go back and do the solid black pleats by hand Problem is the seats, the headliner and top of the dash in this car is all done this same way. Decals would be super easy,,but I have no idea who , where or if anything like this was done in a decal sheet. Thanks all for the ideas
  12. While I wait for some paint to arrive for another project,.I decided to drag this back out off the shelf. Its a Johan 1962 Dodge Dart. I bought it at least 25 years ago for the grand sum of $4 ( sticker is still on the box ) Sprayed some paint on it yesterday and applied the decals this morning. Once dry I will do the bare metal foil work then spray some clear. maybe tomorrow or this weekend . Interior is sprayed but it came out to dark,,,so I have to respray it in a lighter blue . I am leaning towards use a Lindberg chassis and powertrain. Its not going to be a long drawn out detailed build,,just something to get me back in the swing ,,,,, and use up some decals I have on hand
  13. I dont know where thats at,,but pretty impressive collection
  14. Looking pretty good so far. Are you looking to replicate an particular individual car
  15. Its in this , Real deal 1968 Hemi Dart.
  16. Any ideas on how to pull this off in 1/25th scale ?
  17. The recently released Model King 64 comet IS stock ,,but the hood is molded shut . yours been cut out I assume
  18. New one to me,,,,although GM stuff is usually not on my radar . But I thought this was pretty cool . http://www.ebay.com/itm/121557151032?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  19. Technically its not on the road ,,,,,,, but during a visit to my local pick and pull a while back I saw this. It'll never be back on the road ,,,,,, but this just isnt something you see in a junkyard around here anymore. Originally a 1968 Barracuda Formula S , 383 auto
  20. In my local hobby shop yesterday to get paint supplies,,, and picked up a set of the parts pack blue line slicks while I was there
  21. Well. I am about to try the Tamiya black and clear for the 1st time. Ordered it thru my local hobby shop yesterday. .....so we will find out soon
  22. Is this kit 1.24th or 1.25th scale ? I see boxes marked either way Tia
