  1. If it was designed, sketched, built years before the batman , how can it be called a 'batmobile' ps, it's uglier than sin,,,,,,,,IMO
  2. Ok, let me rephrase the question. Would you buy an empty box ,,stricktly for the box art ? ,,,,,,Meaning you don't want it because you have the kit that goes in it
  3. original builtups pop on 'that auction site' from time to time . I just got one maybe a year or so ago,,,,,,, best I can remember it was less than $40 I bought it for the sole purpose to do this car
  4. Looks like a chevy block with hemi heads on it
  5. either the model built or artwork. ( with a slight leaning towards some form or art. ) If it shows the 1/1 car. I don't give it a second look
  6. Had to dig a bit. But I found them. Because wasn't 100% sure where they were. And HAVE no idea when or where I bought them But on the sheet is - Microscale Decals and # on the sheet is MC-4201 EDIT, I did a google search for the number and found them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Microscale-Decal-HO-MC-4201-United-States-of-America-48-Star-1912-1959-Fl-/390435499745
  7. Addisons 1967 GTX aka 'Silver Bullit' was never really lost. It was well known by Detroit area Mopar people for many years where it was ' hidden' . Just the owner at that time had NO interest in selling. Sullivan had tried for several years to convince the owner to sell, all to no avail. One day they were talking and the former owner told HS to find him an original paint 440 six barrel , 4 spd Petty blue Superbird and he would make a trade. It took some time but he found one . It was a Petty Blue, 440 six barrel, white int Superbird , original paint, untitled Super Bird a friend of mine owned at the time. It was a console auto but the untitled part made up for the missing 4spd.
  8. I like that ,,,a lot
  9. I've tried a couple times to get one of the Nomads Casey posted as well as some old AMT , MPC kits stricktly for the box art. I already have a Nomad in the stash that will get built, But I like the box art on the one above as well as some of the old AMT Corvette kits done in a similar style . Again, I could care less of the contents ,( if it even it has any ). I just the like the box art Same goes for some of the old 1969-70 Johan cartoon art boxes for the 1970 GTX as an example.
  10. Well, ever buy something with no regards to the boxes actual contents. just thought the box art was cool I've tried to get a few over the years but so far have failed.
  11. Ditto, I even found the decals to repicate the flag on the lower fender doglegs I'm in to stay tuned
  12. Not 100% sure here. But I believe the Glidden 1970 Mustang shown was campaigned mid to late 70's time frame and it did have a tube chassis. So where this build is headed could be accurate for that particular car
  13. I'm at that point right now. WAY to much going on right now with family to even think about it,,,,or any real drive to make time to get to the model bench. Its' ok, they'll wait for me to come back
  14. Other than they are both Hemi combustion chambers in the heads, they share nothing in common. 392 has the mentioned dist in the back ( as do all hemis EXCEPT the 426 ) very different valve covers styles physical demensions on the cyl heads , block and water pump area I'll see if I can find some conparison pics For everything you need to know about 392 ( and smaller) Hemi engines ck out http://www.hothemiheads.com/index.html For just about anything 426 based ck out http://raybarton.com/parts/index.php/ or http://www.forhemisonly.com/aboutus.html
  15. Anyone know if the decals to do this car exist? pm me if prefered
  16. Same here, I was wanting a builder Johan 1963 Dodge Polara. I tried dozens of times only to get outbid and they would sell for twice for what I was willing to pay. Kept looking then one day found one with a buy it now for under $50 ( grabed that one ) then a few weeks later won another one for under $60 So now I have 3 and I don't have $150 in all of them ( 1st one was bought years ago for less than $30 ) A good rule of thumb I follow is when one sells for big money,,,,,,wait a week,,, 2 more will get listed. About 4 or 5 years ago I was watching an unbuilt 1968 Color Me Gone Charger kit, it sold for almost $1000. Within a week , another one was listed and it didn't break $500. Within a month , I watched several more sell, and none brought over $250 I eventually bought a builtup and I don't have $50 in it
  17. I must be in the minority, I don't see the point of a $30 resin engine, when you can buy an entire AMT duster kit for about half that( usually less )
  18. Yes, 1969 and down was B body only 1970 and up,,,, both B and E bodies used the same skid plate
  19. Thats what I was thinking. BUT,,,,, if your not happy with it,,,,pack it up ( carefully ) send it to me and I will ' dispose of it ' for you properly
  20. skid plate style changed in 1970 compared to the earlier version
  21. I will turn back with some trivia. Know what happened with the 428 cobra jet on feb 14 1969? It is valve cover related... Prior to they were chrome steel. after they were aluminum Gotta love google http://www.428cobrajet.org/id-valvecover
  22. chrome valve covers on race hemi was 1964 and 1965 only. 1968 Hemi Darts and Barracudas were the same black valve cover as the street hemi just as a a bit of trivia , the valve covers off a 1964-65 will not fit on 1966 and later Hemi heads. http://racehemi.maxwedge.com/
  23. Craig, I belive there are/were decals to do 2 versions of the Chevy 2 ( one of which I used ) pm me an address. It has the decals to do the Javelin1 ( which I want to keep ) but will mail you the rest of the sheet , if u can use it fine, if not send it back Here is whats left on the sheet
