Looks killer. The 71-73 Mustang body was one of the best looking body styles for the funnycar wars of the day.

When Connie Kalitta still had the car. I would almost bet the chassis didn't change much , if at all from one car to the other. Edit, Looking at the picture I am not 100% sure the chassis shot is the 1971 car( might be the 1969-70 car ) BUT, I thought I had a picture of the Kalitta 1971 car with the body up but it might be on the other PC . so I will keep looking and post it when ( if ) I find it

Keep in mind the chassis between the Johan Mustang versus the MPC Mustang are very different ( if that matters to you ) Either way the Johan kits build into very nice shelf dispay pieces ( i have several of each )

I have been thinking of something very similar. And am going to keep a close eye on these builds But, have to ask, how about some details on the frame work to get the cab to fit the bed -

gtx6970 replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is exactly what I was thinking. I think it's kinda ugly,,but then again see above -
I don't think the Tri Y manifolds were ever used in a production car

Unraveling the Snake pit - Building a AA/FC in the late 60's

Thanks for the notes. I was pretty sure of the car and that it was in a model magazine back in the day ,,,just didn't know who wrote or when . I personally would love to do a full detail build of this car. As I think it was one of the best looking cars of the period . But unfortunately I don't have the time or inclination to get that carried away. I already have one built from the Polar Lights kit that I am pretty happy with. Just added a bunch of pics of the restored car I have on file. So maybe someone else can put this article to good use . -
I found this online several years ago and NO idea where it got it or if it's even still out there. Either way I tend to right click save just about anything and everything old drag car related. In the past I've seen several wanted posts for this article . So, i just posted it in my fuse webpages to share. Just click on the link and enjoy. If I remember right the article used the Hawaiian AA/FC . If I am wrong someone please let me know. If correct I will add the pictures I have of the restored car .( when I get a few minutes to sparee to upload them all, and I have a bunch) http://home.fuse.net/jallphin/cool-pictures/hawaiian-AAFC/

First ones are max wedge only I don't have any kits with them ,,,but sure would like several sets of they are avail in the afternkt . Lindberg Dodge has headers in it I believe. 2nd ones ,,like mentioned were avail in the Johan 1964 Dodge,, don't think they were avail in the 64 Plymouth kit
-
Only one I've ever used so far ( I do have one for a 1968 Dodge Dart project ) MCG set on a Lindberg 1964 Dodge sedan ( will upload a picture later )
-
Very nice looking little red dodge. Well done I personally think the Polar Lights kit gets a bad rap. It's not perfect to a 1965 Dodge but it builds into a pretty decent looking shelf piece

is uglier than sin -
Although I never followed Formula one or indy car . I knew who Senna was and what he had accomplished in his short time. I did get to watch the documentary on his life/career a while back. To this day one of the best films I've seen yet.

Based on the fact that most ( if not all ) of the new releases are kits that have never ben done. I think they're doing just fine. Keep it up and I'll keep opening my piggy bank. I actually was thinking about hitting my local hobby shop this weekend to pick up the 56 Chrysler 300B,,,just because ! I already have several of the 55's

AFXnScale was bought out by rdsxfan on ebay. I've bought several items for them with ZERO issues . But I do not know if they got the duster grille mold in the deal as I have not seen them selling any. I have several of the grilles I bought before the deal went down , I might consider cutting one loose but not any more than that. Try the above 1st to see if they can help. ps, just ck'd the ones I have and they have the plymouth flag emblem in them

I like it . and same here, I have several of the big cars for the 30's to do ( someday )

Too many projects going on.
gtx6970 replied to Ramfins59's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Given though I have touched a model in at least 6 months. I am not sure. But last I remember I have 3 or 4 on the bench in various stages and at least another 6 to 8 stalled porjects I got bored with or didn't have the parts or supplies to go forward with . I've got a Lindberg 1964 Dodge superstocker I could probably finish in a day if I put my mind to it. But with kids activities ,,,job and shop projects ( not to mention simple inclination ) there doesn't seem to be enough time to get that done -
I keep thinking ,,,,,,,,,,it only took nearly 50 years to get a 1965 Plymouth B body . Glad to see it finally come to light. Although I personally would rather it be a 2 door sedan . But I can work with whats given to me . 2 thumbs up to all involved to bring it to light

Yep, Other than the hudson, I want MULTIPLES of each shown
