  1. Very true and i agree it is very nice. BUT, at the modelhuas price of almost $100 , IMO, your in the price range of a decent builtup . And for me personally, I would rather have the stryene builtup..........................my opinion only. I've bought 1 each of a hardtop and a convertible rebuilders in the last 2 years or so give or take and I don't think I put more than $100 in either one.   2. I was told by someone who used to do box art builds for AMT/ERTL and the 1968 Coronet never went any farther than pictures of an original annual / box art photos
  3. I was looking into having reproduction parts made for classic Mopar muscle cars. So I don't know if the numbers here are same/similar to model car licensing structure so take it for what you paid for it. Up front costs approximatly in the $2500 range PER ITEM requesting licensing approval. In adition to this Mopar then takes approx 8% PER ITEM of manufacturers suggested RETAIL price

My main goal is the repair an original issue Johan 1969 Roadrunner kit. it's missing the seats and the interior tub is a tad rough The down fall is the original Johan int is only correct for the 1969 GTX (it replicates the GTX woodgrain door panels ) But for practical build purposes I may try the AMT versions.
  5. For the most part I build box stock. So I would guess maybe in the $10-15 range on top of the price of the kit. And most of my building stock costs in the $10-15 range . so I would figure in the $20-30 range per build. But, I do have a bunch of old builtups, and with many of them it could be I paid anywhere from $40 to $100 just for the kit. So for me it all comes down to how bad I want it in my display case .
  6. Anyone know if anyone is making repops of the 2 bucket seats with head rests and the back seat for the Johan 1969 Roadrunner kit ? Even a correct interior tub would be good All but one of mine has the incorrect 1970 Interior tub and seats.
  7. Trying to convince model car builders a dozer kit will sell well is like trying to sell ice to an eskimo. No matter the subject , let the manufacturer know of YOUR likes/wants. In this day of emails and instant messaging , all it takes is a few minutes of your time to let them know.

  9. Friend of mine walks in my shop today and hands me 2 factory sealed Johan 1970 Petty Superbirds and an open but unbuilt Sox + Martin bird kit. For free.
  10. Casey, like you said. It's a buddy seat which is a completely seperate section from the seat itself . ( ps the buddy seat is a fixed section as it doesn't move with either seat )

Don't really care one way or the other 1- I can't say I've ever bought a product because just some one else endorses it. so that part is meaning less to me 2 - I met JF once, and honestly don't care if I ever do so again... Maybe he was having a bad day , maybe not. but he came off to me as a tad bit full of himself. IMO, his ego is almost as fat as his bank account. my 2 cents

  13. just an fyi, but S+M ran at least 2 different 1967 GTX's back then. a SS/D car - Hemi with black int and a SS/E car - which was a 440 car with white int I think both were 4 spd cars

Summer months are 1/1 time for me ( I run my own shop restoring vintage cars) Plus both my girls play on the high school golf team and we are at matches usually 4 nights a week Plus I travel a lot to shows to sell parts. So most of my bench time is fall / winter time aka down time I've got several projects on the bench just no time to set down and work on them , and a couple of them I could finish in 3 or 4 hours tops . Once golf is over ( early Oct ) I'll get back to the model bench

  17. I'm going to bet the resin 2 door sedan has nothing but an altered rear roof line. On Sedans and convertibles the windshield stand up straighter than the 2 door hardtop. In 1/25th scale I have serious doubts they can be told apart
  18. 1959 Which was a very good year for car stylists trying to out do each other with fins, more fins , and LOTS of chrome tops on my list would be a Desoto Adventurer, folowwed real close by a Chrysler Imperial , maybe a Cadillac
  19. Probably my best was 3 MPC nascar kits. A Petty 1972 Roadrunner, Petty 1972 Charger and I think the 3rd was a K+K Charger. all 3 still factory sealed . I paid $100 for them all. Sold them on ebay ( all went international locations) and if I remember right not one of them sold for less than $150 EACH

  21. Not 100% sure but I think the blue streak tires are mid to late 60s to very early 70's time period. Reasonably sure by the mid 70's it was mostly white lettered tires

  23. Isn't the competition resin dester body a 1970-1972 body style ? the last ramchargers car would be a 1973 - 1975 body style

On one single kit, I bought a sealed inside MPC 1968 Color Me Gone funny car, I paid $500, sold it a few years later for $500 I have a limelight 1970 Cuda promo I paid $600 for it. both were probably close to 10 years ago I just bought a nice built Charlie Allen Dart AA/FC maybe 3 months back and I think it was about $150 As a general rule, if it's something I really want and I can afford it at the time,,,,,the sky is the limit. But generally I keep it in the under $30 range for readily avail kits and/or builders/builtups. I usually look for older annuals than I so for more recent re-leases
